Lizzie McGuire, a Disney Channel original series starring Hilary Duff and Robert Carradine, is all about the ordinary, and not-so-ordinary, adventures of a junior high student and her two best friends as they try to deal with the ups and downs of school, popularity, boys, parents, a bratty little brother, and life in general. And if Lizzie leaves anything unsaid, you can bet that her cartoon alter-ego will say it for her
The Good: As usual for these books, this is a fun comic book adaptation of the groundbreaking Disney sitcom. The makers do an excellent job of bringing the crazy filming style of the original show into book form. Since these episodes are among the early ones, this adaptation of them made for great nostalgia material.
The Bad: While there was nothing wrong with the book itself, the Goodreads listing is erroneous; the second episode should be "Jack of All Trades," not "I've Got Rhythmic".
Conclusion: You probably already know that Lizzie McGuire changed my life, and that I continue to hold it in high regard. Though the show ended nearly 1.5 decades ago, I still enjoy it in pretty much any form...including Cine-Manga! If you're a fan of the series and are looking for a little light reading, check one of these out; they may be hard to find, though, as they've been out of print for a while.
