He’s a handyman lynx shifter who can fix almost anything...
Except for his mate’s shattered soul.
Even a tropical paradise has its problems. When something is broken, native Alaskan lynx shifter Travis is always the man for the job. As the handyman in charge of maintaining the beautiful all-shifter resort of Shifting Sands, he's never found anything he can't put back together… until he meets his one true mate.
New to being a shifter, curvy black Jenny Smith isn’t used to having an otter in her head, or all of the inappropriate ideas it has. She can’t control her shifting, and she can’t even remember how to read, let alone return to her life as a lawyer. She finds herself randomly with whiskers, and wanting to wash her food in saltwater, and now there's a gorgeous man her otter says is her fated mate. But does saying yes to Travis mean losing what’s left of her human self?
Shifting Sands Resort is a safe haven for shifters of all types, but a storm is coming, and with it, grave danger from Jenny’s past. Can Travis rescue his mate and show her how to love her whole self… and himself as well?
Book four of the Shifting Sands Resort series, it is a short standalone novel with no cliffhangers.
Elva Birch is an author of the impossible and irresistible. She is a fire dragon Gemini living in Alaska who belly dances outside at twenty below in the winter and loves to find tiny fairy moss worlds in the summer with her camera.
Elva also writes SHIFTING SANDS RESORT, GREEN VALLEY SHIFTERS, and FAE SHIFTER KNIGHTS as Zoe Chant.
My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!! ***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I bought this book because I collect all of Zoe’s books when I can!
The cover is WOW! I love it! Look at it and you’ll know why!
This is the 4th book in the series, and it is for adults only due to the steamy content and violence. It isn’t mandatory to read them in order, but I highly recommend you do because this story continues from the end of book 3. This book is about 139 pages long.
This is Jenny’s story who is the twin sister to Laura from the last story. Jenny is a new shifter and is having a hard time with controlling everything. She feels like her life is out of control, and then she finds out Travis is her mate. Jenny has a lot to work through and is overwhelmed. Their adventure has plenty of action and romance. A lynx and an otter make for a great story.
I highly recommend this book to any shifter fans who love lots of different shifters, HEA endings with just the right amount of action, adventure, and romance. I can’t wait to see what Zoe cooks up next!
This is a fun sexy series. The books are short and light. They are an easy read, but still have some suspense and heroic scenes. If you enjoy shifters and mates, you'll really like these books.
This was a very enjoyable story. It is about Jenny, who is the twin sister of Laura (heroine of book #3) and this story is somewhat a continuation of what happened in book #3. This can be read without having read #3 first but there may be a bit of confusion about a few events in book #3 that led to the events in this story.
Jenny is a lawyer that never knew she was a shifter. Jenny has a twin sister Laura, who is a shifter (a wolf shifter) and tends to get into trouble. In book #3, Jenny was assumed dead when some bad guys almost kill her while mistaking her for Laura. Jenny shifted into her Otter for the first time and managed to avoid death but then she was stuck in her Otter form for weeks. When Jenny finally transforms back, it takes some time to figure out how to be human again.
Travis is a Lynx shifter that grew up in Alaska. Travis is a handyman that really enjoys fixing things, it satisfies him. He took a temp job at the shifter resort and it turned permanent but he likes the place and it became his home so he's happy with his life. But he does feel like something has been missing lately...
This story picks up as Jenny is just learning to shift back to human. After a bit of confusion about the whole twin thing, Travis is very happy to have found his fated-mate in Jenny. But Jenny doesn't even feel human yet and isn't ready to jump into something, even with a fated-mate so she balks until she can get a firm handle on her new self. But they are fated-mates, so Travis and Jenny are drawn to each other and can't stay away from each other for long. Travis does give Jenny her space though...trying to let her figure things out and come to him when she is ready. It all works out well and Jenny and Travis do end the story together and heading to a HEA.
This was a very enjoyable story. Jenny was a good heroine...just a bit discombobulated with having to figure out the whole shifter thing a lot later than most. Travis is a really good guy and I liked him a lot. Overall, this was a very enjoyable story with likable characters that kept me engaged so I'd recommend it. :)
Travis James, an Alaskan Lynx Shifter and the handyman at the Shifting Sands Resort. He never found any task he couldn't fix that was untul he met his mate, Jenny Smith.
Jeannavivianna "Jenny" Smith whom we've met in TROPICAL BARTENDER BEAR was a lawyer and a newly otter shifter. She couldn't control her shifts and her animal side kept telling her that Travis was her one true mate. But was she ready to say yes to him!?
She was having trouble adjusting to the fact that she was a shifter. How could she be anyone's mate if she didn't know how take care of herself without falling apart. Travis didn't let her push him away.
Jenny found herself in danger when her past came back to haunt her (was it really her past?). Travis wasn't about to let any harm come to her. Neither did her twin sister Laura, her mate and the Shifting Sands Resort's workers.
Loved catching up with old characters and meeting new ones....I'm looking forward to Breck getting his story until then I'll be catching Bastian's own soon ;).
TROPICAL LYNX'S LOVER is the fourth book in Zoe Chant's SHIFTING SANDS RESORT series. It was beautiful and heartwarming. Fabulous job by Zoe Chant. Two thumbs up!
****I received a free book from the author, without any obligation to review.****
I received an ARC with no obligation to leave my honest review This one seemed shorter then the others in the series, not sure of the page count though, maybe because it felt like the main characters weren't very well developed. We have heard of Travis before but I felt like we didn't really find out much about him which was a little disappointing, Jenny was an otter shifter (first one I've read about and was interesting) and is the twin to Laura (previous book main character) and she was a little on the annoying side for me sorry. A little bit of continued drama from the previous book that carries into this one and is over really quickly, but not enough for it to be hard to follow along if you haven't read book 3. Again other interesting new and previously mentioned secondary characters like Giselle, who may have stole the spot light a little. Overall and ok read but it wont be my favourite of the series.
Jenny, Laura’s twin who is now an otter Shifter, finds not only her mate but, herself too. She’s trying to learn how to shift from human to otter & back again without any otter side effects & with Gizelle’s help she learns to not only do it seamlessly but also to keep her clothes on too.
Travis James is a lynx & the handyman on the Resort & after being run ragged the last week he believes that his lynx is mistaken whenever who he thinks is Laura is around. His lynx keeps telling him that she’s his mate; he doesn’t know that Laura is a twin & it’s Laura’s twin, Jenny, that he’s been seeing.
That is the beginning of their story; which is a very good story. There’s lots of sex in the garden, a kidnapping & rescuing scene (which is at the end of the book) & some characters from the previous books.
Travis is a lynx shifter and the handyman at the resort. Jenny is new to shifting and is an otter. She only shifted when her car was ran off the road and she almost drowned. Being a shifter is really hard for her. Her twin sister is a wolf shifter and has always been able to shift. But Jenny learns quickly about everything connected to shifting including having a mate. When Travis and Jenny see each other they know they are mates. Jenny comes to terms with her otter self and realizes that she is still herself just with an added part. When Jenny is mistaken for her twin and gets kidnapped Travis and the other staff members race to save her. It all ends up so well. A great addition to the series. Definitely recommend it.
Travis is a lynx shifter from Alaska who has made Shifting Sands Resort his home. He's the handyman who can fix just about anything. Upon first seeing Jenny Travis is confused because his lynx claims her as his mate but he thinks she's his friend Tex's mate. Jenny Smith is an otter shifter who came into shifting as an adult when she was in a car accident that was anything but. Reunited with her sister, Laura, Jenny is staying at the resort but isn't sure that she can be someone's mate.
This is another great book in the series that's well-written with wonderful characters. While each book can technically be read alone but they're much better if you read them in order. The books build upon each other giving you more depth with each one.
OK, try 2, since GoodReads just ate my first review.
Meh. This was not my favourite instalment of the Shifting Sands series. Partly, I think that's because Travis's 'ZOMG I'M HAVING INAPPROPRIATE THOUGHTS ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE'S MATE BECAUSE I DON'T YET REALISE SHE'S AN IDENTICAL TWIN' schtick went on way too long for my tastes.
And I felt the same way about Jenny's fear of losing her humanity to her otter - it was an interesting character feature, but I felt like it went on way too long without really moving forward at all. (Although that said, I did appreciate that this has to be the first Zoe book I've read where it's the female character that's struggling with her shift form, rather than the male)
Ehhnnnhhh. I can't love all of them, I guess. Onto the next one!
Travis is known for being good at fixing the problems at Shifting Sands Resort. Jenny is struggling with what happened to herself and her family. Will she be able to discover the key to helping herself? Will Travis be able to help Jenny realize she can trust her otter?
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Zoe Chant books and this was no different. Loved how Travis was willing to wait and determined to show love to Jenny no matter what. I didn't blame Jenny for struggling, but was proud when she was able to realize everything on her own. Great read!

Another great addition to the Shifting Sands series, Tropical Lynx’s Lover is filled with action, danger, passion and romance. This story focuses on Travis and Jenny, an otter shifter who has been lost in her shift and only recently returned to human form. She is a twin, and her sister was involved with a cartel who still seek vengeance. A case of mistaken identity leads to a heroic rescue in the midst of a hurricane and to a happily ever after for all. Will leave you smiling and anxious for book 5. I received a complimentary copy from the author. Edit
This is the fourth book in the Shifting Sands Resort series. This story takes up where Laura and Tex's story ends. Jenny who is Laura's twin is now a member of the resort and learning to control her otter. Travis is a Lynx shifter and maintenance man at the resort and Jenny's mate. Just whenever thing seems to calm down Jenny is kidnapped before a storm hits the island. Will Travis be able to save her? Why would they wish to kidnap her. I loved this story it held my interest and included all the characters from the other stories. I give it 5 stars.
Travis and Jenny are super characters. Jenny is dealing with learning that she is an otter shifter, after the otter saved her life. Now she has to learn how to deal with this AND with meeting her mate! Travis handles things so well that you have to love him. There is some action, but the characters drive this story. I can't wait to see what is in store for Bastian in the next story. Read them all in order and enjoy!
Travis thought he was going crazy when his animal keep telling him that Laura, Tex's mate was his!!!! The last thing he expects is to come face to face with 2 identical girls. However he could never not recognise his mate, Jenny. Jenny is struggling with her new life as a shifter and the last thing she expects is to come face to face with her fated mate. Lovely story packed with action and romance. Highly recommended
Twins love to play mix up but what happens if that on act of play acting results in a kidnapping? The fourth book of the Shifting Sands series is mostly just a simple shifter mate romance story till the last eighth of the book when the action started. The Shifting Sands stories are still a fun and sometimes funny read even if this one was a little slow with the action. I would still recommend reading this book and the series.
One more winner for Zoe and The Shifting Sands Resort series! Laura's sister shifted into an otter and saved Laura and Tex from certain death. Problem was she had no idea how to shift back! There are several more twists and turns ahead, which I will leave for you to discover...fun read!
An enjoyable read and a great story. More light-hearted than the previous books. Poor Jenny struggling to cope with being a shifter after all these years. Travis was lovely in that he gave Jenna space when she needed it even though it hurt him. Interesting getting a new shifter at the resort in Wrench but it was fun having Gizelle helping Jenny Cannot wait to get more of this series.
ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are hones Welcome to the Shifting Resorts! Travis is the resort's handyman. Jenny is new to being shifter. She is still trying to control her shifting. Can Travis "fix" Jenny ? I loved the storytelling + the characters The storytelling + the character's build were awesome!
I love the employees at the shifters only island resort. Each book is about a couple who meet and the hardships they have to endure. In this book Jenna is having difficulties coming back to full human after her first shift. To make matters worse, she is caught in the middle of a plot for vengeance. Great story.
Kindle Unlimited Purchase By Zoe Chant Where was I when this series come out? I've read books 1-3 along time ago so how did I miss these books. This book was a great addion to the serise. I liked how there was 'talk' between the human\animal it makes it special.
Even though she had a hard a with her animal, her animal made some good points 2 make her realize what she needs 2 do 4 some kind of balance. Travis is good with working his hands but it was funny about his mate at 1st. And he proved that nobody messed around without him doing his protecting. Can't wait 4 more asap!!
I have been on a shifter binge and that is where I found Zoe. I have enjoyed many of her books since then and am working my way through them. There are some minor editing issues in her early books but not enough to give up reading them.
With many variety of shifters who are hot and true mates I am sure you will enjoy them as much as me.
It was funny when he saw his mate and thought she was Tex's mate. It took a while to find out she was a twin! After he connected with her and a dangerous encounter, they finally got their HEA. I suggest reading this series in order as characters are reoccurring and more being added as the stories continue.
Tropical Lynx's Lover book 4 from the Shifting Sands Resort Series by Zoe Chant. This story has action, surprises, some steamy scenes, great characters. You won't be able to put it down. My free opinion. ARC Thanks
Another fun book in the Shifting Sands series. Travis can't believe his eyes or heart. Jenny isn't sure about her new life. Read to find out if the get their HEA. Can't wait for book 5.
I loved reading this book! Twins are always fun and Jenny was so messed up at first. Travis and Jenny shared a wonderful and exciting adventure filled with love, lust, excitement and adventure . I loved it!
Love, romance, adventure, and many many shifters! I loved reading a out Travis and Jenny’s romance, it’s not easy being a new shifter, but Jenny can handle anything, with help from friends.
I enjoyed Jenna's story as much as her sister's, and it was very interesting to watch her work through her shifting trauma. Each new book in this series also brings more detail and a grander sense of mystery to this special island.
This book and this series his well organized and entertaining to read. It funny and easy to read and fun. I recommend this book and series to all my friends and family. Happy Reading!
I am rereading all of Zoe Chant's books in the order suggested in Tropical Tales. I enjoyed Travis and Jenny's story very much. She learns to play as hard as she works and enjoy life everyday. Their love story is sweet and fun
