Apollo

On my darkest day, a handsome stranger saved me, but one look into his eyes and I knew he was broken, too. I promised myself that one day, I'd find him and thank him, but what do you do when your savior turns out to be rock god Sebastian St. Crow?

I'm about to find out...

Sebastian

On my darkest day, I found someone who needed help maybe even more than I did. Someone whose pain echoed mine, and in that moment, I'd wanted to save him. I gave him a second chance--but forgetting the beautiful young man with those haunted eyes was next to impossible.

I can have anyone I want, but I want him...and I think he wants me, too.

*There's no spoiler. I don't know why that tag is showing up. I don't see a way to remove it.*

I have very mixed feelings about this book. There were parts I really liked and there were parts I really didn't.

I think my biggest problem was that the way the MCs spoke and acted did not match the description of who they were. Add an extra big helping of cheese and I was left with a strange aftertaste. I think the characters would have fit an MF or even an FF romance much better. As a M/M Romance it didn't work for me. But it wasn't a bad story. I did enjoy it.

I suggest you try it when you're in the mood for extra sweetness.

DNF @25%

This feels very amaturish and far fetched regarding the dialogue and the characters' interactions. DNF despite the decent writing, so no rating.

DNF 17%. Debated rating but light 'pretty' 'sweet' vibe combined with serious character history was uncomfortable, so it's getting a 1* from me. Other reviews are more positive.

I found the writing overly dramatic from the start to the point it detracted from what was occurring: '...dwell on the harsh reality that had impaled me like a blade...' there's a big tendency towards purple.

Beyond that there's an immature feel to the story, serious situations didn't hold much consequence; both characters seemed younger than their age and the sum of their experiences. Pet names were dripped everywhere from first meeting 'sweet' 'sweetheart' 'honey'...

I only got to 17% and already had a number of issues with the logic, particularly in career choice, menu choices and how they reunite.

There was the definite feel that 'pretty boy' Apollo would have been left to his fate if not:
'..too beautiful to be a street dog living off scraps' and I was a bit taken aback by a rapist recalled as 'a man hellbent on leaving emotional damage'

Not an author for me.

He’d seen something in me, something I didn’t even know existed, and he’d given me a second chance. No— he’d given me a fresh start, a brand new beginning...

When I first read the blurb, I have this strong impression that the story will be a bit 'dark' and angsty. And that actually the reason why I'm interested with the story. But then I found out that the story turned out not as dark/angsty as I expected.

Disappointed?
Well, I must admit that yeah...I'm a bit disappointed.

The first chapter succeeded make me cringed, but then the rest of the story turned to be a bit fluffy, sappy & cheesy in my opinion.

As for the characters, Apollo and Sebastian were very likeable characters. At least at the beginning. But then both MC's start annoying me at some level.

The honey, baby, buttercup things start to feel way too much and quite not 'match' with Sebastian characters as a punk-rock stars who ride a Harley Davidson. I expected he at least appear a bit cool and 'manly' according to his look description. The diva side the author trying to add feels a bit funny and didn't fit with the character descriptions. The 'pretty please, with whipped cream and cherry on top' part really 'ruined' it all and kill the mood.

At some part, I really have to convince myself that it's a gay romance that I'm currently reading and not MF or 'straight' romance when the scenes start to feels like 'typical' MF book.
BUT I must admit that at some part this book succeed brought tears to my eyes.

So, yeah. I have mixed feeling about this book after the reading. I can't say this book was 'that good' or 'that bad', because maybe it because there's a tiny part of me that wish I could like the story a bit more or maybe actually I DO like this book at some part but with A LOT of notes here and there.

But if you love sweet-cheesy-messy story with cherry on top and less angst, I think this one is for you, because apart from all those notes I said above, Sebastian and Apollo definitely a soulmates match-made in heaven. And their love will swoon you the whole reading IF the over sweetness things suit your taste...

1.5-2 stars?? Hmmmmm this book could have been a four star read but there were a lot of things that did not add up.

Seb is apparently a huge celebrity- house hold name status - and is the lead frontman of his band. Yet everywhere he goes in this book, he does so easily. No mention of fans, paparazzi or people at restaurants recognizing him & even at the clubs. Also, he is good friends with Z and Joriah who are the siblings that looked after and took in Apollo all those years ago after Seb saved Apollo and know about his incident with Seb, yet never tell him in the five years since they’ve known each other that they are personally good friends with Seb??? And Seb gets his tattoos done by Z and has been for a long time. Another thing that confused me is that Seb started his band with his friends. We dont know how many people are in the band exactly except one died and the other checked into rehab (and seemed to be currently in rehab) but through out this book Seb is working on his bands album, and there is no mention of his bandmates after the 11% mark and the bandmate in rehab (who I believe the author refers that bandmate as Seb’s best friend) ever again. Yet Seb drops an album under the bands name and not as a soloist, but you have no idea if his “best friend” is out of rehab and worked on the album with him as well. Another thing that bothered me is that Joriah is Apollo’s best friend and in the five years they’ve known each other, Joriah had no idea how old Apollo was or even his birthday.

I was hoping this book would get me outa my book slump because of the high ratings but nawww, Im disappointed. Also, BTS’s comeback is next month and that will take all of my time, sleep and day as voting begins, streaming and catching up with all their content. Because of this I wont be able to read any books for at least 2 months, so I want to read some good ones before I go MIA.

Overall, I’m still interested in reading the next book about Laz and what will happen with Owen as he is not going to be Laz’s partner in the second book. Good thing. Laz seemed like a good guy and Owen a greasy sleeze.

Lovely and interesting story
The first time I read the blurb I thought "Wow, this sounds promising" and guess what? I was right!
I loved reading this book, it has a little something for everyone's tastes.
Little Infinities is a story about love, discovering one another with quirks and all, spending time and doing what you love (wink) with your soulmate (read the blurb, people! It's HEA).
I also liked how the characters were developed, not by insisting or overly describing their background stories, but by allowing the reader to catch a glimpse here and there and become emotionally attached to Apollo and Sebastian, just like they became attached to each other.
I got teary eyed and laughed with the characters and I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

Beautiful and emotional story about a celebrity and a guy he meets. I had tears throughout the book.
Typos: blonde oak (blonde is feminine and oak is not), vice (should be vise), ballsack (sac), vocal chords (cords), “again”. (period always always always goes inside quote), a dog who laid on the floor (lay).

Little Infinities by author Kiska Gray is the first book in the Love by Chance series. This story is told in dual POV so we do get to be in both character’s mindset. I liked that a lot. What I was not a fan of were the time jumps. There are quite a few. I feel that the author had a ton to say and it felt overwhelming for me the reader.
Sebastian, he has a lot of personal and emotional pain. He wants the noise in this head to just stop. He is not in a good place when we meet him.
He does save AJ. AJ when we meet him considers himself nothing more than a hooker. He does not think anyone cares about him. When Sebastian saves him though, things change for him.
Sebastian is a famous singer, and AJ wants to do him proud. When they meet years later things are very different and that is when the real story begins.
Now why I dislike time jumps is it is hard to piece together a story when basics about said story keep being in flux. I found this story wanted to get to the love story it finally became, but there was no clear road as to how to get to that story.
This left me with a huge disconnect. I really wanted to love this story. I found both characters to be really interesting and engaging at first. Then for me this story went off the rails. It is an okay read. But for me it was a winding and hard to keep up with read.

Full warning, there is another partner. True, Seb and Apollo aren't technically together when it happens, but it is after they have their weekend of sex and true connection. When I read what Apollo did I felt sick and nearly gave up reading. I even teared up. I truly can't stand MC's that do that; it gouges out a scab I have in my heart for denying your soul what it needs, who it needs, and in the case of Apollo and Sebastian, there are no two souls that need one another more. And seriously, it was only the next day that Apollo went out and slept with someone. Not even a week later it was Sebastian who made the grand gesture to get them back on track. I wasn't a fan of that at all.

But...I was kinda glad I stuck with it. The story was sweet with a whole lot of tenderness and steam to match. The conflict wasn't in Apollo's actions after their big weekend, it was Apollo's fear and insecurities. That was handled pretty well, but we didn't really get anywhere with it as it was basically just a constant companion and filled most of his thoughts whenever he reflected on his relationship with Sebastian. I can't say there was any true healing, but he did come to accept everything Sebastian offered him and that it wasn't a misguided or mistaken desire, Sebastian truly wanted Apollo for everything he was and wasn't. He just wanted him, in all that that meant.

Sebastian was easy to love right from the start, with his passion, open heart, honesty, and earnest desire for a settled and happy life. There were times that I skimmed through his inner dialogues because they were a bit repetitive, but other than that he remained the same all the way through the story. I think that was really what worked for this story even though it made it a little on the simple side. There were no huge conflicts, the characters basically opened their eyes and hearts to a future with one another, and everything ended with happiness and a puppy. If you were expecting complexity and angst, this isn't really going to give that to you. It was simple and effective where we begin with a moment that saved two souls and ended with those two souls forging an intertwined future.

I really enjoyed this book by a new to me author. It appears to be the start of a series as the note at the end mentions the next book which features a secondary character from this one.

The MCs in this book are Sebastian, a famous rock star coming off a bad breakup and issues with his band, and Apollo, a former teen street kid who Sebastian saves on the worst night of Seb’s life. Or is it Apollo who actually saves Seb?

The book begins with the incident where Seb and Apollo have their encounter, Seb makes an awesome gesture and then they go their separate ways. They meet up again completely by chance (or is it?!) five years later. They each feel an immediate connection and the book follows their path to eventual happiness.

The book is pretty low angst though there are certainly references to dark times from the characters’ pasts and some self doubt about the new relationship. Mostly it is a journey to redemption and acceptance. There is a nice metaphor going there with the songs that Seb has put together for his new album and the artistic vision he has for the videos that will go along with it.

The story is uplifting and sends a hopeful, encouraging message without being preachy. It does move a bit slow at points in the first half and there are a few places better editing would have helped moved the story arc along. But over all it is a pretty quick, entertaining read that will leave you with a positivities outlook on life, fate and karma. Just what we need right now.

**I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion.**

Hmmm I'm not really sure how I feel about this one really. I liked parts, but I spent a big chuck of it waiting for the other shoe to drop so I think I held back from fully investing because I expected a big dumb misunderstanding to come up. I was really convinced it was coming. There's lots of little plot points that I thought were setting something up but then are just never mentioned or brought up again. I did like the main characters, for the most part, but I didn't love either one of them fully. They're sweet but it stays pretty middle ground for me personally. It's just missing something I can't put my finger on. It's not *bad* but it's *off* if that makes sense. There are some heavy topics but I felt like they should've or could've had more depth and focus. Apollo has some deep insecurities that I feel like aren't really worked through or acknowledged in a way to show him really moving past them. Sebastian is pretty well adjusted for everything he's been through, maybe too well adjusted but *shrug* it is what it is.

I did expect some “bad boy” behaviour when there’s a rockstar/model pairing but not in this case. Sebastian and Apollo and both likeable characters who initially meet when they are both broken and lost souls. They meet again 5 years later and the chemistry is instant and when that spark ignites everything heats up. Sebastian is beyond sweet and not the stereotypical badly behaved rockstar. Apollo hasn’t ever experienced love and it takes some time for him to let his fears go. With minimal angst they do get their HEA. There’s an interesting cast of side characters that add to the overall story and one character is the subject of the next book in the series.

This is the first book I’ve ever read written by this author and I simply loved it! From the beginning the book caught me and I couldn’t stop reading until the very end. The story is heartwarming and intense, the emotions of both characters are palpable and authentic and you spent half the time wishing them to have a happy ending. I cried a lot especially at the start of the book so I recommend discretion because some situations can be a trigger but I assured you the rest of the book really is worthy to continue reading it. A wonderful reading!

Loved it

First time reading this author and I have to say that I couldn't stop turning the pages fast enough to get through the book. Sebastian and Apollo make a cute couple and I was rooting for them the whole time. Sebby was such a sweet, generous and kind man who just saw the goodness and worth in Apollo. I can't wait to read book 2 about Lazarus. I hope Sebastian and Apollo have cameos. The side characters are great and so are the kids (aka pets). HEA and mini epilogue like 4 months down the road.

It was so sweet and heart breaking the way this two broken souls meet and then find their way to each other and their happiness. Is a book full of emotions and the characters so well done that keep you hooked until the end. They both have relationship issues and the way they connect is explosive and at the beginning they fight they emotions but even if the journey is long they end up together after they fight their way to each other.
I confess that I would have liked to see their wedding and more about their dog but maybe that could be material for a sequel or a short story of their HEA.

Do you believe in soul mates?
Is there a special someone out there who will magically connect with your heart?
Will you find them?
Can you forgive those who have hurt you and someone you loved?
Is it possible that rising from the very bottom of society will enable you to be worthy of love?

This is a beautifully written book about two men who have been hurt, save each other, and reconnect years later. It is a story of hope and love.

Kiska has excelled. I'm looking forward to other stories in this series!

I love that this series is called Love by Chance. Chance brought Sebastian and Apollo together on a rough night. Rough for both of them. The bad circumstances brought them together for a night of saving. Saving each other. But life goes on and years go by. I love this aspect of the story. That their paths were fated to cross again. And when they do there is no letting go. Although a couple aspects were left with no explanation, the men work through their various aspects of their lives to achieve their HEA. Very heartfelt story.

Being a big fan of destiny and soul mates means that I am a big fan of this book!
Apollo and Sebastian are destined to be together, they meet when they both need someone to save them and change each others lives. Meeting again 5 years later they reconnect and manage to find what they were looking for. There are twists, some I didn’t like but ultimately they ended where I wanted them to.
The writing was great, the pace and excitement built perfectly, there were I few times I felt frustrated at the characters but over all I loved them!

Well, it wasn't quite as dark as I expected based on the blurb. I did, however, quite like both of the MCs and thought they were really sweet together. There were some moments that may give you tears, but really it wasn't as hard to get through as I imagined it would be. Sebastian and Apollo have a soulmate level connection and together they're able to help each other heal and fight for their beautiful HEA. I was also expecting Sebastian to be more of a stereotypical rocker, but he's an absolute sweetheart! I adored both MCs and that really just made the book for me.

Great start to a series. First time author for me so I went in with no expectations and I was blown away. Apollo and Sebastian are two people are missing pieces of themselves, trying to just make it to the next day. When they come together it is a epic story about love, struggles and what is takes to change. Loved it and can't wait for the next. I voluntarily reviewed an 'Advance Author’s Copy' of this book.

Superior writing, beautiful language, great character development, and nicely erotic. This book has it all. I can't say enough about this book. I do want to give any spoilers, but let me say do not let the fisrt few pages scre you off with the trigger for abuse, I almost did an so glad I persevered. I will definitely be on the watch for future books by this author.

Little Infinities by Kiska Gray is the first book in the Love by Chance series. It is a contemporary m/m romance that captured my heart with the beauty of the characters' love. Apollo and Sebastuan were there for each other on their darkest days and gave light and hope when their souls needed it most. Their connection goes beyond that though and I loved them together. They story has drama, sweetness, humor and steam. I am excited to see what other gems come out of this series.

Sweet

This was a great find. I truly enjoyed this story. One person who was grieving and contemplating his life stepped in and saved another from being brutalized. The author did a great job of developing each character their strengths and weaknesses. It was filled with smiles, sadness, angst, redemption and happiness. Look forward to Laz's story.

I enjoyed this. It was sweet, and I liked how the MCs met in the beginning. It was heartbreaking and heavy and made me really fall for Sebastian. I loved that after five years, they found each other again. I loved these characters. I wasn't sure why the part with Owen was thrown in there. Nothing ever came of it, but this didn't affect the story much.

Rockstar romance

I really loved this book.
You could literally feel the emotions oozing off the page.
Apollo and Sebastian both have damaged pasts but together they healed the broken parts of their pasts.
Sizzling chemistry between them, sweet, romantic and a healthy dose of humor as well.
I especially enjoyed the Sphynx cats and sweet Peggy was a wonderful addition.

I was reeled in to this book starting with the name. Little infinities. Awfully sweet. Both characters are marked by a terrible past, which crossed 5 years before. Then they meet again, under better circumstances and great possibilities. They have chemistry by the buckets but they have a journey to travel before their hea. The characters around them are also quite interesting. Good reading!
