We were meant to live happily ever after,
a promise I sealed with a band of gold.
Our road was rocky and rough, yet worth every mark etched on my heart.
Kat is my addiction.
I’m her salvation.
Two hearts joined in pain.

I will be honest here…I was so scared to start this book.
I read the blurb and thought oh no…Chase and Kat deserved their happy ending and diving into Pretty Ugly made me scared for them.

Addiction is a lifelong battle. Never a day goes by that you are not battling the demons telling you to do it… Take that sip, inject that needle, smoke that pipe. No matter what battle you are fighting, you will always have to be stronger.

Wow, I couldn't put this book down!.

O.K, I hold my hands up!
When I reached the end of Pretty Reckless, I then read chapters one and two which follow on in the eBook and having been happy with the ending of Pretty Reckless to then discover that Kat and Chase's story continued.
I was disappointed to find the happy ever after I imagined Kat and Chase to be venturing into was not going to happen, not yet anyway.
The wedding was set, they were both in love, Chase was unhappy with his low paid job a

Every once in awhile you come across a story that hits home. A story that you can relate to. A story that sits in your gut and pulls at your heart because u know have, or know someone who has, gone thru something very similar. This book was that for me. This story…. Is very real. Real in the sense that it goes in around every one of us but some choose to pay no attention. This is a story that will show you a truth that you may not like, but it's there. It's real. And I loved EVERY SINGLE word.

I sit here, thinking, where do I even start to be able to put the right words together for this review to be able to adequately reflect the level of this novel. So here goes...
Jane has done an outstanding job in this second book. I thought that I had seen enough of Kat and Chase but then she went and proved how much more they still had to go. This is so filled with a soul-deep kind of love that not everyone gets to experience, and seeing what they would do for each other makes my heart hurt. I c

I received an ARC of this book from the author and I voluntarily reviewed it. Thank you Jane Anthony!

Ohh man, ALL the feels. This book is about addiction, and how it not only affects the person who suffers from it, but the people around them too. It’s about how fighting it is a lifelong struggle, and not a one-time thing. It’s about how strong a person has to be in order to fight it. There are many instances in this novel where we see characters hit rock bottom and how raw it is.

This is the second book following Pretty Reckless but I wouldn’t call it second best. This book blew me away! Jane Anthony some how took the readers through a hard reality in book one to another real and deep reality in this book, all while keeping the storyline flowing throughout and with some of the same characters.
Pretty Ugly made me fall in love with Chase and Kat all over again from start to finish. When someone had an addiction chances are they will always have one, whether it’s to the s

When I first read Pretty Reckless I fell in love with Chase immediately. He was everything, he stole my heart and I thought there wouldn't be more from him, or Kat. But when Jane mentioned a second book, I was excited, because I wanted my man back. Chase has this way of burrowing into your heart with his demons, with the darkness he hides. I was smitten. Needless to say, I hated Kat, not because she was a bad character, but because she got to be with Chase.

Pretty Ugly was an emotional rollercoa

My favorite addicts are back!! Pretty Ugly by Jane Anthony may just be even more emotional than the first book. Which if you haven't read Pretty Reckless you need to immediately!!

Kat and Chase were set up to have a happy ever after of sorts at the end of book one. Book two begins and it seems that is exactly what they got but before we even get to the third chapter things take a turn and both Kat and Chase's world in upended.

Chase is still super hot,

When I read Pretty Reckless last year I ADORED Chase. I LOVED everything about his character. Kat I had a harder time connecting with. But by the end she had gotten my approval for Chase. Then came Pretty Ugly. Let me tell you Jane Anthony has pulled all the punches and given us on hell of a PHENOMENAL book!!

Pretty Ugly delves deep into the life of addiction, as well as proving love can and does conquer all. After Chase is hurt in an accident, and his depression growing, plus a fear of inadequa

This story shows a story of undying love and flaws with a strong couple! I love Kat and Chase from “Pretty Reckless” and reading the continuation of their story shows how they aren’t perfect and are made for each other and pick each other up! I love Chase even more with his determination to get sober and how Kat won’t give up on him! Truly a powerful story that’ll have you cheering for their HEA!

💔😥 Broken but Whole 😥💔
This was a wonderful journey that dove straight into the heart of addiction and the broken bodies it leaves in its wake
Been there done that - to say this hit close to home is a grave understatement
Beautifully written - emotional - poignant
Be prepared for an ugly cry here and a jovial laugh there
An engaging and winsome journey of love and salvation

Pretty Ugly carries on from Pretty Reckless, where we have Chase and Kat getting ready for their wedding day. Unfortunately things don’t always go to plan. I think this book was more intense than the last one. I loved it Jane Anthony had me yelling at my kindle, and I was in from the beginning cheering when needed, smiling when warranted.

I don’t know how to start this out because I don’t know if my words will do this story the justice it deserves but I’m sure in the hell going to try.
It’s been a good while since a story has grabbed a hold of me, heart and soul, and refused to let go. Pretty Ugly has done just that. Jane has the ability to pull all these touchy, feely emotions out of you. She has the ability to break you but to also put you back together again.
I knew going in to this book that I was going to be put through the ri

This is the second book and i would highly recommend reading the first book, Pretty Reckless first.
Chase and Kat stole my heart in the first book and i was definitely excited to dive into this continuation of their complicated, raw and emotional story.
Kat is a complicated girl, and is also dealing with her alcohol addiction, Chase is also a man dealing with dark demons and a recovering addict. I was already in love with Chase, because in the first book we see HIM! Despite his own battle, he was

Jane Anthony has created yet another addictive book. It carries on from book one Pretty Reckless where Kat & Chase first get together (I'd read that first) it also links with characters from Secrets & Promises and Chasing Casey.

Chase and Kat are easy to love even with their problems, if not more so because of them.
The book is fast paced packed with the characters witty sense of humours, hot orgasmic sex scenes, lust, love, fear, pain, heartbreak, struggles, basically the mixed emotions of a sex

I'm going to start out on my soapbox for a moment so here goes...Pretty Ugly is the second book in the Addicted Hearts series, and since it's about the same couple's continuation, YOU MUST READ Pretty Reckless (Book 1) FIRST! NO ANDS IFS OR BUTS ABOUT IT! Alright now that I got that whole bossy routine out of the way, I'll get on with the good stuff! As I said previously, this is the continuation of Chase & Kat's emotional journey together, and boy it's a emotional doozie. Like I'm a sobbing mes ...more

After the turmoil of Pretty Reckless I thought I was prepared for Pretty Ugly but I didn’t have a clue what I was letting myself in for reading this book. Kat and Chase are seemingly living in bliss but they both are still haunted by the demons of their addiction and it really is only a matter of time until one of them bends too far and breaks.

I guess anybody reading this who hasn’t suffered with addiction would find it hard to understand

Again this author has left me speechless with her incredible writing. I was eagerly anticipating this book as I loved book 1 so much but I was not prepared for the emotional rollercoaster that I was going to go on. I also made the mistake of reading it whilst at the hairdresser and then having to explain why I was crying my eyes out!! I honestly don’t think that I can find the words to do th

This book is beyond AWESOME!!! As I was reading my heart was in my throat and my hands were shaking as I turned the pages. At one point I had to put the book down and go get some air. I did the "ugly cry" and it took a while to recover. If you have a loved one that is an addict, this story will hit home, like it did for me. The reality of addiction is ugly and heart-wrenching, but there can also be recovery. Don't get me wrong, this book isn't just all gut-punching sadness, it also made me laugh ...more

Five Unbelievably AMAZING stars! SO MANY EMOTIONS! I don't like to say too much because I don't want to give away anything, but after reading Pretty Reckless, I felt like I could really relate to this story. The author writes with such great depth, I felt Kat's (and to a degree Chase's as well) pain as if it were my own. Even if the situations weren't exactly the same, I felt a kinship with the character through shared pain and loss. I've felt the pain of not wanting to fight anymore too and fel ...more
Pretty Ugly is book two in the Addicted Hearts and if you thought Pretty Reckless (book one) was Reckless think again cause we see the Ugly before the Pretty comes to light in this Addicted Hearts duet. Kat and Chase story continues in this emotional ride of broken souls who show us that our soul-deep love isn’t easy and you’ll cry and laugh then hurt for them while getting that raw passion these two share so deeply. Any addiction is hard to beat and affects each person differently. No matter h ...more

I couldn't wait to read this book after I finished Book 1 Pretty Reckless. I couldn't wait to see what would happen with Chase and Kat. I again couldn't put it down once I started. Their story reached out and grabbed my total attention and heart and I had to finish to see where these two characters would go. It was great to see that they finally got their HEA , but boy was their journey so hard. I find myself knowing now that most relationships are hard, and it takes strong people to make a go o ...more

Pretty Ugly is the second book in Jane Anthony's Addicted Heats Series. You need to read Pretty Reckless first.

We were meant to live happily ever after, a promise I sealed with a band of gold. Our road was rocky and rough, yet worth every mark etched on my heart. Kat is my addiction. I am her salvation. Two hearts joined in pain. Yet beneath the surface of our intended bliss, a tsunami was brewing.

OH. MY. FREAKING. HEART! (Please hold while I piece it back together... this could take a few minutes!!!)

I love this series! Pretty Reckless ended with a HEA.... the problem is that addicts dont actually get a HEA. Their happiness is a constant work in progress! So it only seemed fitting that Kat and Chase have a relationship and wedding surrounded in dysfunction. Ever since I head that Jane was writing this book I was waiting so impatiently for their story to continue! While reading Pretty Ugly

OMG! I am stunned beyond words…. I have just finished Pretty Ugly by Jane Anthony and I am floored – completely blown away.

This is book 2 in the series and because book 1 does not end in a cliffhanger, I did not expect a book 2 in the series but am so glad the author decided to continue the story of Chase and Kat. This book takes you further into the true world behind addiction and what it can do to not only you but your family. That no matter how long you are sober and clean, one event, one choice, one accident can suck you back down the black hole of addiction. This book also shows you what courage, hope, strength ...more

Where do I begin? After reading Pretty Reckless, I couldn’t wait for Pretty Ugly to be written. Let me tell you this, it is so well worth the wait! The story of Chase and Kat continues in this second book. They both have battled demons in their past, and sometimes those demons come to light again. When something from Chase’s past threatens them, I wondered if they could survive it. Can love prevail? The way the writer describes the struggles is so real. You know what was Pretty Ugly about this book? The tears it caused. Lots and Lots. Ugly Cry. Just grab the Kleenex box now. Save yourself some time...then you won't have to stop reading to get up and get them.

I should have known though. Experience obviously taught me NOTHING when it came to this series. I think it was that a bit of time has passed since the first book, Pretty Reckless. I started reading with a false sense of reality. And then you know...chapter one happened.

I fell in love with Chase and Kat in Pretty Reckless, but this book takes it to the next level. If ever you have loved someone so deeply that it hurts, you will relate to these two and their emotional love rollercoaster.

Without giving away the plot, I will say that in Pretty Ugly, we pick up where Pretty Reckless left off. Kat and Chase have grown as a couple and are moving forward with a life together, that is until tragedy strikes and the couple is pushed back two steps. Author, Jane Anthony,
