I really appreciated this book. Instead of taking a professorial role and instructing the reader from a podium of knowledge, the authors humbled themselves and even shared intimate aspects of their own personal lives and faiths; this included excerpts from Kathy's private journal, and personal stories from each of their pasts. The book was touching, and real. It was romantic, but practical.

The authors believe that a woman was made to be romantic, and rather than trying to suppress it as over-dramatic (as some of us do) or misplace it with unrealistic expectations (as some of us do), we should use this perspective to look on Christ and understand what it means for Him to be our Bridegroom, for Him to be the Lover of our souls.

I did feel like the book "lost some steam" in the last chapter, and sort of fizzled a bit - but I wouldn't quite call it "disappointing." If anything, if the book ended on some "emotional high," I may instead be writing about how I felt jaded, wondering if what was taught was fueled by emotionalism, or if it was something of substance that could truly be applied to the reader's perspective and life over the long-term. As it stands, the content of the book was easy to relate with, and to apply.

This was my second time reading through the book, and I enjoyed it even more than I did the first time. I would highly recommend it to any woman (or man, actually) seeking to better understand Christ's role as our Bridegroom, and as the Love of our souls.

Although, I have yet to fall in love, I was ready to set a bomb to remove the barriers and intentionally fall in love with Jesus. Those last few words were used to search a book that I knew had to be on someone's bookshelf (physically or electronically). The first of the results was this read! I believe that every time I opened a page to read, it was if the presence of God sprang out from the pages into my room. So much that everytime my mother would enter the room while I was reading, she would say, "I can tell you've been with Jesus"! This book changed my life to where I have started to approach my mornings in a new way. I commend both authors Dee and Kathy for their transparency and in depth research, study and meditation that helped form this book. Coming from both a single and married persons perspective, this book is for anyone needs to know or be reminded of how much the TRUE Love of our lives really feels about us.

I picked this up off of the library free shelf and thought it was worth a read. The concept is that just as we put effort into dating a man or a marriage with a husband, we need to do the same with our faith. The authors chose Jesus instead of God because he walked on earth and became man.

I love how the subheadings were all based off of song titles - some pop, some Christian and some from musicals.

I laughed with Martha from the story of Martha and Mary was referred to as "the Martha Stewert" of biblical days. Ha! I also loved how the effort Martha put into serving Jesus was compared to serving bouillabase, homemade biscuits, and rose-cut radishes when the crowd would have been happy with chips and dip!

The book ends with reminding us that Christians show love to everyone.

I did this as a Bible study. The videos were better than the book. I just have a really hard time Talking about God as a prince charming rather than a heavenly father. It almost seems blasphemous to me. But then again, I’m not a girly girl. If you are a Southern Belle who is all about love stories I’m sure this would be perfect for you.

Some really good nuggets here and there. The rest was nothing new. For those unfamiliar with the idea I'm sure there is a lot more that can gained by reading it.

The first half is kind of like a really long intro. A lot of the second half was already discussed a lot so it felt a bit repetitive. The last few chapters are kind of unfocused so I skimmed through them.

As someone who is a 30-something single, the quantity of parallels between human love and our love with Christ can be a little difficult to take. It kind of rubs our faces in how great marriage is and then says we should be content with Christ. I have always had an issue with that because the truth is, we will not always feel that satisfied with him and I think that's normal. It ebbs and flows, probably a lot like human love.

Per Gina Robertson:
Addresses the needs of the heart of women and allowing them to be met in Christ. Not settling for a mundane relationship with Him but a passionate, living relationship with God through Christ. Focuses a bit on single women in beginning but applies to every woman overall.

A great daily study that is manageable in time; helps women identify where they may be looking for love and their identity in life vs. finding it in Christ. A lot of emphasis on the heart and emotions which may get old for some readers.

I need to read this again. This book touches on the foundation of making Christ our bridegroom before even playing with the thought of finding that earthly mate we long for. It talks about making Christ your all so when the time comes, you don't expect a significant other to fill the shoes that no one on earth could dare to dream even fitting. It helps women of all ages identify with who they are in Christ and the love they can feel through a relationship with our Savior! It's amazing!

This book changed my life. It is written with Kathy Trocolli speaking of Jesus being the love of her life as a single woman, and Dee Brestin writing it through her life as a married woman. As soon as I read this book, I knew I had to do the coordinating Bible study along with it!

Currently, on my journey, the Lord is showing me I am to love him with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. IN THAT ORDER...and He is taking me back to the heart before I can jump ahead and grow in the other areas. RIght book at right time.

It is an interesting book, a little too romantic for my taste, but I like the message that it presents. I am thinking about buying some of them and giving as gift for family and friends.

It sparked good conversation in discipleship. Very cringey at times. Best when she actually referenced scripture.

This book was instrumental in both my interest in King Author fantasy, and encouraging my religious deconstruction and eventual leaving of the church. The text has contradictions within the first few pages and constantly made me roll my eyes and even physically cringe.

One of the most beautiful Christian books I`ve ever read. I recall being in a dry season when I really wanted to feel that love for Jesus again, so, even though it might seem funny to some, I literally just Googled "how to fall in love with Jesus" (a divine love ofc) and this book was there somewhere. Sufficient to say, it made me understand Jesus more, His love for us and how kind and compassionate He really is. It`s for sure a beautiful book and it might help especially if you want a closer relationship with Him.
