Full of suspense.

Just finished this book in a few hours. Can't wait to read the next one. Couldn't put the first book down and am hoping the rest if the series will be the same way.

Teenagers with toothy parents in suburbia

Teenagers lead interesting lives as their parents destroy friendships, bicker, and act strange. There are murders and attacks, always after midnight in the neighborhood. What is going on? Ends on a huge cliffhanger. Fun read.

Robyn has a feeling that something is different in her neighborhood. Her mom is as intimidating as ever and her dad seems more complacent and doesn’t want to rock the boat too much. On top of that her brother turns 18 and does a complete 180 in the looks and attitude department. She’s been warned to stay away from her best friend of over 10 years Jayden and she is adrift. When a new girl moves into their town she makes a friend but also she’s competition. Together despite parental warni

"The Scary Nights"

This is a spellbinding paranormal story well written and geared to be enjoyed by young adults, and will be enjoyed by adults who enjoy this genre. How can one not trust their family? Soon, a new girl in town begins to flirt with the boyfriend ... the parents couldn't care less about it. Soon a local girl is found murdered. There a

I purchased this eBook after enjoying Willow Rose’s other Vampire story “In Cold Blood”. This one reads much more as a YA paranormal adventure. The plot flows nicely and simply follows the lives of a group of teenagers and their families who are living in a “keeping up with the neighbours” type of community with lots of secrets. The thoughts and feelings of the characters are relatable as they try to figure out what is happening so it makes it an enjoyable read.

Well done

I have to start with the bad. It was too short. I was very in to it and getting excited and then it ended. I was like what??? And now I wait.
I am excited to to further explore the furniture I'd shadow hills. I am on pins and needles waiting. Wonderful job Willow Rose

Vampires and I'm sending werewolves as well

So many unanswered questions! I'm incredibly glad the next book will be out shortly. I'm picking up a hint of werewolves going on with Jayden and even Melanie. Can't wait to see if I'm right.

I purchased this book because it is one that Willow Rose wrote and she is my favorite. I am not really into vampire stories , but this was good. I will be purchasing the next one when it comes out.

I enjoyed reading this paranormal mystery. The characters were fun, the mystery was intriguing and the murders were fun. However, as this is the first in a series, not a lot is resolved by the end of the book. I would have preferred a more complete story.

Flesh and Blood by Willow Rose is the start of a YA vampire series. Robyn’s parents always favor her older brother, and the favoritism has been getting worse as her brother is about to go away to college. She just wants to be able to spend time with her best friend Jayden, but her mom is threatening to take her out of her school if they are caught hanging out together again. Soon, her older brother Adrian starts to display some strange behaviors, and people start to get hurt around the town. Rob ...more

Usually I start off with the things I didn't like, just to clear the bad out of the way first. Not saying this was a bad read, but I'll get there eventually. The first thing I need to make known to any questioning reader is, its mostly told in 1st person point of view, but what I hadn't expected was the occasional 3rd person point of view, which I do think fit together nicely.

It was a page turner alright. Maybe because the chapters were short? It moved at a fast enough pace that I wasn't in any

Robyn’s parents are fighting with themselves and the neighbors. They have forbidden her from spending any time with her boyfriend and are just making her life difficult. Then her brother starts breaking the curfew without getting into trouble and does a 180 in behavior and looks. If that was not enough for Robyn to question her parents, maybe the midnight meetings and over coverage in the sun is. Then local girls are turning up murdered. There is something odd happening in the little town of Sha ...more

I had received this book from a Goodreads Giveaway.

This book was a fast paced novel. I had devoured it within hours (I sat in one spot for a couple of hours and immediately wanted to dig into the next novel).

This is not the typical paranormal mystery romance that we are all familiar with. Yes it is evident that the families in this neighborhood are clearly not human, except for our protagonist, Robyn and her three friends: Jayden (her best friend), Amy (the stress baker) and Jazmine (the new gi

The blurb reads:
"Flesh and Blood is the first book in a fun and frightening series of romantic paranormal mysteries. If you like terrifying thrills, flesh and blood characters, and vampires without the sparkle, then you’ll love Willow Rose’s tale of suburban terror.
Buy Flesh and Blood to discover a dynamic series that puts the bite back into vampire lore today."

In this I think the book fails. There is not terror and so far the "bite" is more of a nibble. This is very short and make no mistake,
I'm surprised I enjoyed this one as much as I did. It kept me interested all throughout and was pretty fast-paced, which is exactly what I like in a vampire novel.

The characters were not all fully developed, which is understandable because this is after all a series of some 12 books. We learned a little bit more about Robyn and Jayden, little about Amy and Jazmine. I hope we'll see more of the latter two characters and learn what makes them tick.

I must confess that although I'm going to start

At first I was wary about reading this, due to the main characters being teenagers; very wrong to judge based on that alone. This first of the series was very hard to put down. Even though there are 51 chapters, each one kept my attention. The characters and scenes are well developed, and I kept reading as I wanted to know what happens next.

Basically, there are vampire families in Shadow Hills, and the parents "turn" their children when they reach their 18th birthday. Problem is, mommy and daddy

Willow Rose wrote the first book in the series The Vampires of Shadow Hills in a way that left me wanting more. Wanting to find out more about Jayden, Robyn, the rest of the teenagers, and their families. Written for YA, but I am comfortable allowing my twin tweens to sink their claws (or fangs in this case) into this book, nay, novella. I would deem this more novella due to how short it is; easily read in an hour for me.

While I feel the story-line did jump around a lot from places, timeline, an

The cover was so beautiful i was itching to get my hands on this book but unfortunately the story wasn't as great.

The story follows Robyn and her love interest and two other girlfriends as they discover a murder and a attempted murder, discovering in the process a secret about her family.

I felt the characters needed to be a touch younger as they did not act like 16 - 18 year olds, more like 10.....

The POV was all over the place we had it from the victims from the characters, i couldn't get a gr
Flesh & Blood - a review by Rosemary Kenny

If you're a fan like me of Twilight and The Vampire Diaries, Willow Rose, the Queen of Scream has a new series that will be right up your street!
The Vampires of Shadow Hills series of which Flash and Blood is Book 1, tells of young Robyn, who is forcibly separated from her long-term sweetheart Jaden, by her parents who may or may not be involved in the mysterious feud that has split the two families apart in a Capulet and Montague-style hostility that se

A great YA paranormal story for any age

Willow Rose has jumped off into a new series (The Vampires of Shadow Hills) in a spectacular fashion. While a teen book it should hold the attention of all paranormal fans. Robyn is part of a vampire family living in a neighborhood of all kinds of paranormals and trying to figure out why her mom hates her boyfriend's family. Plenty of mystery and soul searching for Robyn and her friends. My only complaint is that the POV of the characters is not clear from

Wow, this was a really good book. If you like audiobooks, dont hesitate to get this one. It's short but sweet. I liked the suspense as to what each family on the block were. Imagine a little community neighborhood that is made up of supernaturals. I think I would like to live there. But this neighborhood is a little strange. They dont much like outsiders seems like. Now imagine you have no clue your mom is a supernatural. This is what Robyn discovers. I didnt like her mom. She was so controlling ...more

Yes, I enjoyed it. Was i overjoyed to be reading it? Nah, not really.
First the bad: so stinkin slow. So predictable. Very rated G. No real action. I described it to my sister as Stepford Wives with vampires. At least I think ita vampires. Everyone keeps talking about seeing a wolf. I don't know for sure. The most frustrating thing for me was the constant change from 3rd person point of view to first person. Pick one!
The good: easy to read. No real obvious grammatical er

I received this book free from one of the book sites. I do not remember which one! This is my honest review.

This book has a GREAT plot and the writing is good BUT it ends in a cliffhanger so if you don't like cliffhangers, this is NOT the book for you!!! I don't like cliffhangers unless I know there is definitely going to be another book out soon that will continue the story.

I found this book to be interesting in the relationship between Robyn, her mother, and her brother. (Warning: brother is very clearly the favored child). There were some scary parts in this book and some parts weren't explained to

Ummm...what was this?? It was s mess. It felt like it was written by a middle schooler. I’ve never seen a book jump from first person to third person whenever it was convenient. It was so strange. I seriously feel like I wasted my $1. And the timeline; I never knew how much time had passed between events. She talks about her brother’s hair growing long and losing all of his muscle mass....that takes weeks to months, but by the end of the book, only a month has gone by. The “romance” was so force ...more

Vampire circus

Growing up in a small community everyone knows everybody. Both have teasing older brothers and both start acting weird or weirder than normal. Each set of parents start acting strange but mainly focus on the mothers. Not thrilled with jayton and how quickly he ran to jasmine after being in love with her forever but hey he's sixteen. Strange attacks start to happen. Amy I can relate to. Cooking when stressed.
