Eden is determined to survive. She didn’t live through the end of the world just to be enslaved into a work camp. With just her wits and a garden implement she manages to escape. And then run into a terrifying new sight. He’s big, grey and clearly not human. Yet, he says he only wants to protect her and keep her safe. But Eden has been lied to before and she isn’t about to repeat her mistake by trusting someone else, especially someone as scary as Drav her new hulking, fae shadow.

I have become obsessed with this series. Not only does it have a great setting – a post apocalyptic zombie-infested earth – but it has just the type of hero that I adore: Gigantic, slightly outlandish, gorgeous, fierce and gentle. So, when I started reading the fourth book in the series, I fully expected to love it. And I did, it had me swooning over Drav, our fae hero and through Eden, we get a glimpse into the life that humans now face. It’s not a great world out there, if you manage to survive the increasingly more cunning zombies and the vicious hellhounds you then have to try and survive the other survivors. It’s easy to see why Eden has trust issues.

But, as much as I enjoy the setting it’s the romance that has me glued to my kindle screen. Each book has me falling in love with the fae all over again. Until recently the fae had never seen women before, they are both clueless and curious. Which is it a great combination and perfect for eliciting a few laughs when the innocent fae, unknowingly, ask some embarrassing questions. The fae have also never seen children before. I say this as it’s an important factor in the way Drav managed to gain Eden’s trust and give her a choice about how their relationship progresses. Eden lies to Drav, telling him she is 12, which is clearly a lie but he believes it as he knows no differently. What Drav does know is that any female under 18 is off limits and so immediately starts caring for her like a child – which was cute as all heck. Even when he discovers the lie, he doesn’t push it knowing that it makes her feel safe. This allows Eden to make the choice regarding when she wants to “grow up”. It becomes a code for when she is ready to trust and move their relationship forward.

I’m explaining it clumsily, but I love when the impetus of a romance is the heroine making a conscious choice. Although Drav thinks of Eden as his, he respects her boundaries and doesn’t try and bulldoze through them. Which in a nutshell is why I love this book and Haag’s fae heroes so much. This was another great read and I highly recommend giving it a try if you are after a sweet paranormal romance.

5+ Oh my... But it WAS GOOD !
Usually when I go after an Alien type Romance, I know not to ask for a fleshed out story, good & intelligent characterization, an interesting world-buiding, yada yada, and since we know the unwritten rules of the Alien type Romance genre, us, readers, have zero expectation on these points and we gave plenty of 4/ 5 stars because we know what we are going for, and we will not punish the author for giving us what was expected !

So when an author, actually go the 1000 extra miles to actually give us a fleshed out storyline, fascinating characterization & world-building , witty exchanges, and make us connect with a really thought out, clever & real & non nonsense she-hero, who does not only exist as a walking vagina with brain disconnection issues, you turn the page without blinking, and when you are at the last one, you find yourself wanting more, when usually you just pray for it to be over after the 75% mark.

And this author DESERVES a big shout-out for not using the very-unhealthy-commonly-used-cure-sexual harrasment-assault-rape-by-"forced"-consent-with-the-alpha-trope.
FOr ONCE, ONCE the male hero, who was NOT an alpha trash, was empathetic, ACTUALLY HELPED her heal by RESPECTING her boundaries & wishes. He was RESPECTFUL & MINDFUL !
Mind you, this is the VERY FIRST TIME, I ever saw this kind of development.

I am gonna miss the two of them, greatly, they have entered, unknowingly, my favorite fictionnal characters pantheon.

I was worried about carrying on with the series because the change of main characters but I'm glad I picked this back up. Ghua was sweet and there were some really funny one-liners

Eden wanted to escape from the group that has been forcing her to work for them even before she found out they were going to use her for breeding and "saving the human race". But now that she's out in the world, running from both the hounds and the infected, not to mention the men who are not willing to let her go, she starts to seriously question her decisions. And then she meets Ghua, who's obviously not human, but he promises her protection, safety and comfort. Can she trust Ghua, or has she just traded one bad situation for the one even more dangerous?

I loved being back in this setting with these characters. When we read Mya's story, we did not really see what the world has been turned into, because she's been snatched by Drav right away. But Eden has experienced the end of the world in its raw form. Everything she has been through has turned her jaded and mistrustful. She only lives in today, because tomorrow is never a guarantee. And then she meets Ghua, who looks like a killing machine, but is in reality a very sweet and naive person. I actually find the inquisitive and naive-like nature of the fae to be very endearing, and it was especially prominent in Ghua. It was so sweet how, even after finding out her true age, Ghua still told her that she could be twelve, if only it made her feel safer. He just wanted someone to come to care for him.

So, overall, you can see that I loved the book. The writing was, as always, amazing. I laughed, I swooned and I felt deeply for the characters. The world has turned to shit, but they are making the best of it.
I'm gonna be on the lookout for the next one, that's for sure.

I couldn't wait to ready Ghua's book, we saw a lot of him in book 1 and he intrigued me right from the start.
This is a gorgeous story that highlights the gentle & naive nature of the fey, it was a nice change seeing this side of them when previously, (and in this book too) there is so much focus on them being super fast and strong killing machines.
Ghua just melted by heart, he knew what he wanted and took so much care with Eden, showing her understanding and patience. There were a heap of moments that brought a smile to my face or had me chuckling. Eden was a hard cookie to crack, she was very jaded and her view, understandably, was very tainted after what she had experienced in the world since the earthquakes and infection.
This is definitely my favourite book of the series so far.

This is the fourth novel in the series. The books stand alone, but I’m ordering Books 1-3.

Demon Escape is absolutely amazing, it will leave U breathless with anticipation and racing through each exciting page!

I'm even more addicted to this series than I was before!
Eden N Ghua's chemistry is totally electric, Her feisty personality and his sweet protective nature are a recipe for scorching hot romance and wickedly funny humor! These characters will steal UR heart and keep U craving more! I need the next book like Nowwww! ;)

4 stars — Goddamn these books are addicting. I started this one before bed and stayed up until 3am to finish it. I mean, they’re not perfect, but they are seriously compelling. Something about them just keeps me coming back for more. I should be reading other things, but I can totally see myself finishing this series, b/c I’m sunk in, you know?

Eden was an intriguing heroine. She was SUPER cynical, and rightfully so. I can fully imagine her attitude developing in that way after what she went through after the “apocalypse”. I loved that she was pretty strong, smart, and determined. I mean, she didn’t always make the best decisions, but she did what she thought she had to.

It was so hard to watch her completely misunderstand Ghua’s intentions though. NOT that I blame her, I would have taken it the same way if I was in her shoes…but since we, as readers of the series, already know what’s up with the Dark Fae, we know what Ghua meant. The problem is that in the context of the book, it made for another kind of kidnapper fetish book…it lives on the edge of what’s acceptable. If this relationship had played out in the real world, I would not have been cool with it. But it’s like you throw in a different species, and I’m suddenly more forgiving. Maybe it’s just a safer space to explore that kind of fantasy b/c it’s not real? I don’t know…it made me think about myself.

Ghua was both frustrating and adorable. He really didn’t help his cause with Eden a lot of times. But I loved how persistent he was, while respecting her boundaries. When he asks her if she wants to be twelve again, I just about melted. So much in one sentence.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the tiny side story of the things she finds in Ghua’s house that mortify and worry her. I sort of get the point, trying to show that they are kind of like teenage boys…but it felt a bit over the top to me.

So yeah. I’m super glad I continued in the series, it’s been just as fun, if not more. I can’t wait for the next 2 stories!

SHE’S DONE IT AGAIN! Seriously. Can this author get any better? Demon Escape is another thrilling story in the world of the Resurrection Chronicles. This story is another glimpse of the new world MJ and Becca created. While I was partially sad to hear that Becca would not be collaborating on this book, I was overjoyed with the result. This book feels much like the rest with it’s own unique tale to tell.

The plot of this book is unique on it’s own. Yes there is still that underlying romance in the book, but this story follows another survivor. Eden survived the beginning of the end of the world and ended up in a place that was not pleasant. I liked how this book showed how things had ended up and what it was like to survive the entire thing without assistance from our wonderful main males. I feel like this was a needed point of view in this series.

Eden is such a strong character. I love how smart and resilient she is. There were many times I was like “Go girl. You got this.” I feel like she made many smart decisions for herself, even if I was sitting back going just trust this person already. It felt authentic to the character because lord knows if I am in the similar situation, I would not be handing out my trust like candy. Then you have Ghua. I liked him in the first books. I feel he got a bad rap for some of his actions, but like most, I feel he was just misunderstood. This is an entirely new world, and learning more about Ghua and his actions just made me love him more.

Just in case you forgot, this is an adult book with some adult situations. With that being said, Oh holy hell the heat was dialed up in this book. All I can say is that these two were panty melting worthy. They were also funny as all heck. Just wait until you read and you find out about all the funny banter between Eden and Ghua. You will appreciate this part of the book more.

The writing style is flawless. I got so lost in the book that I had no opportunity to even notice anything else about the book. I just devoured it front to back in one sitting. The pace of the book is fast, but in a good way. It is exactly what you would expect from a post-apocalyptic world. I just really hope the author continues on because I am DYING to know more about these guys and watch them find their forever one.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I am just sitting back and thinking it will be too long until I can get another glimpse into this world. Like seriously. I need more NOW! Alas, I will have to sit back and reread the others until the new one is released. If you hadn’t figured it out yet, I would recommend this book to others and think you are crazy if you haven’t picked up this series and gave it a whirl.

Loved the book

Loved this book, the story, the description of the environment was so interesting. The relationship between the characters was so intricate. In short I loved everything about this book.
I can’t wait for the next one in the series.
Please keep writing the series it’s just that the story is so refreshing.

I enjoyed this story. M.J Haag did a marvelous job. The sexual scenes were more graphic than her last book in this series. I'm glad Ghua found his Eden. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

A fun quick read. There were several parts that I thought were pretty funny. However, I am a horror fan and especially love zombies. So that part of me went a little unfulfilled. I don't think she needed to lose the humor or the "randy-ness" of the fey in this story but the zombie tension could have been amped up more.

In the end, I think it's the target audience. Mostly romance with some zombies thrown in. If the zombie tension/horror was played up a bit more, at least with a 50/50 balance, I would have given this more stars. It definitely had the potential for it.

Again, it's all about the target audience and what you want. Either way, a fun read.

Maybe better than Demon Ember...

I love the original trilogy, but I may love Demon Escape even more. Mya was pretty lucky being found by Drav quickly after the Apocalypse started. Eden, however is also a survivor, but she hasn't been. It's a tough world out there and the humans are desperate. When Eden has had enough, she decides to try it on her own. Thankfully Ghua finds her, but he is so strange, she doesn't see him as a blessing. He is inappropriate, even with Mya's teaching, but this story has so many funny moments between that and Eden's snark. I loved it!

Faster pacing, but the whole story didn't need to be retold

I like this series a lot. We ended up with the whole story in one book instead of three, but we didn't need to learn about everything. Didn't like Ghua as much as Drav, but it was still good and I'm still excited to read the next book.

Demon Escape, the much-anticipated continuation of the Resurrection Chronicles is here, and it was worth the wait! Get ready to swoon ladies. You thought Drav was sweet? Wait ‘til you meet Ghua!

Demon Escape centres on the much loved Ghua who was introduced in the first book. In the first three books Ghua came across as a loveable, but a bit of a clown (albeit unintentionally). In Demon Escape he shows just how much he has grown, emotionally, to become a very insightful, very sweet man.

Eden was perfect for Ghua, and her reluctance to trust him for much of the book is entirely warranted. She has been through a lot since the zombie/hellhound release, and honestly, in a world gone to hell who would trust, without any prior knowledge, the pure intentions of the fey?

I absorbed Demon Escape in one sitting, ok it’s not a long book, but a lot happens in those pages! It was nice to catch up with Mya and Drav again, and it’s fun to speculate just what is happening with those two (I’m not spoiling it, you will need to read it for yourself!). I think we may have met the couple for the next book, or at least a future book. Personally, I can’t wait to read a HEA for Kerr, he’s next on my wish list.

Demon Escape is book 4 of the Resurrection Chronicles and I highly recommend you read the series in order. To fully enjoy Demon Escape you need the backstory. There is very little back-peddling information in this book, it is assumed you are familiar with the world and the characters. Besides, the first three books are a fantastic ride, and you really don't want to miss out on Mya and Drav!

Okay, this book is amazing! I laughed so hard sometimes and I giggled and gasped and, once again, loved every single page of it! I loved reading about Mya and Drav in the other books (and I also loved to learn more about them as well) but Ghua and Eden are also a very sweet and entertaining couple.

Drav was sweet and protective, Ghua is even more loving and also a fierce protector. Even though he is still a bit naive, he understands her well and respects her efforts to be independent and in charge of her own life while still keeping her safe.
Edens stubbornness and her fear of being hurt and robbed of her freedom, again, don't make things easy for them but Ghua wouldn't be fey if he would give up on her just because of some minor obstacles (no matter how big they may turn out to be...).

If you want to know how a book set in a world of destruction, where hellhounds and zombies walk around threatening the lives of everyone, can make you laugh out loud and giggle the whole book long and if, by chance you have a weakness for grey-skinned fey aka demons, well, this is the right book for you.
Truth to tell, I still haven't fully recovered from the other books in this series and still start to giggle whenever I see any bee-related books but this book made me even laugh more. I'm not sure if I'll ever fully recover from some of the scenes .... in a totally good way. ;-)

This book might be read as a standalone but it'll be much more fun if you read the others first.
And I can't wait to read more of these books....

As the author writes each book, I fall for a new demon each time. And this one is no different. Besides rescuing the reluctant Eden from a life of servitude to a faction of the only men left in their area of the world after the devastation the hell hounds have created, his naivete continues to embarrass her throughout the story.

We first meet Ghua in Drav's books, and there's just something about how naive he is that makes him endearing. Like the rest of the Fae who surfaced after the earth opened up, Ghua has never seen a woman before, and there is no end to the questions he has or the comical situations they find themselves in as they hide from the hell hounds and the zombies on their way to relative safety. There is excitement, danger, humor and some steam that makes the adventure worth every minute.

I knew I would love it before I read it, but the story far surpassed even my expectations. The innocence in the way these guys learn is adorable and a riot at the same time. I wasn't ready for it to end when it did, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Let me start off by saying, if you haven't read the first three books of the Demon Escape series, you should. However, this book does prove to be a stand alone and you can read it without going into the previous trilogy. Saying that, this book will make SOOO much more sense if you have read the vents of the original Resurrection Chronicles trilogy.

I will be honest and say that this series wasn't my favourite from MJ and Becca. I have read both of their work, and this series wasn't my cup of tea. HOWEVER, THIS BOOK WAS A GAME CHANGER! I could relate to the main character so much more. She was feisty, she was independent, and she has a no nonsense attitude that I absolutley adored.

The characters were spectacular, the plot was phenomenal, and the joke? They were out of this world. I cannot rave about this book more. If you are holding out on this series because you feel unsure about it, don't even. DIVE RIGHT IN, and join out #dongzilla club.

Amazing!

This world that Melissa is creating is spectacular. Her writing is amazing! She sucks you in and doesn't let go.

Eden is afraid. She's afraid to be forced to do things she doesn't want to do. If she stays with the group she's currently with, she will eventually be forced to have sex with Van. One of the many scum that now live in this new world. A world with no laws, no safe place to survive without cost, no humanity. This world is scary as hell and that's not counting all the hellhounds and infected that run rampant around them. It's everyone for themselves, until she meets a grey fay who shows her how life on this new world can be.

Ghua is such an amazing person. He's so attuned to Eden's feelings, it's really sweet. My heart melted many times. His understanding and patience is vast. He eventually put Eden's fears to rest. He wins her heart and doesn't let go.

I loved the original trilogy so I am gobbling up each new book. But I do have a few announcements issues that I don't think have anything to do that one of the two original authors didn't help write this book.
1. Seriously are we as a culture, mainly women, nothing but prudes? I understand certain words can be construed as vulgar but if flipping out cause a being who doesn't know humans called a woman's private area something...sheesh. Grow up. At least "mom" isn't such a prude.
2. The fey are new to our world but them meeting a woman of interest and suddenly they love them...insta love towards the human. It feels emotionless in this book. The fey have a childish innocence.
A positive is the fey protect the women at all cost but are willing to let them go. As for the women they are strong.
On to the next book. oh, I forgot, lots and lots of steam.

This book just has everything! I loved the unforgettable humor that leaves you in stitches while melting your heart at the same time. There were so many hilarious and awkward moments that had me groaning, putting my head down and shaking it in disbelief, and covering my face in shame. Then of course, there is that perfect slow-burn swoon-worthy romance that drives you crazy and leaves you fanning yourself off from the heat leaping off of the pages.

The best part is that this can be read as a stand-alone to the series! Everything is explained so well and it all flows so effortlessly, that you could understand easily what is going on even if you hadn’t read the first three books. I cannot wait until the next book!!!

I was skeptical about continuing the series after the Mya/Drav trilogy but I'm happy that I did.
This is the first 5 star review that I've given out of the 4 books that I've read in the series. This reminded me of the Beastly Tales trilogy. The writing/choice of words/sentence structure was by far more mature and engaging.
Eden felt more fleshed out and bad-ass compared to Mya. I was able to relate and connect to her before the author introduced Ghua.
I loved how this seemed like more of a post-apocalyptic read compared to the previous 3 rather than a mild erotic book.

I think I'll just continue the series and enjoy M
J. Haag's fantasy world.

Demon Escape is a fantastic read! I’m so glad the authors decided to write more in this world after Drav and Mya’s books were finished. I’m not a zombie book fan at all but this series is unique and so funny!! Eden and Ghua are wonderfully written characters that I fell in love with instantly, with great chemistry and so many laugh out loud moments. The story is fast paced with lots of twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Fans of the series are going to love this book, I cannot wait for more stories in this world 😁 5 stars!!

This book is unbelievably awesome

Ghua and Eden are so epic in this book, it's one you done want to miss. This is so inappropriate at times that you just did laughing and stunned thinking did that really just happen. Eden isn't your typical damsel in distress, she knows what she wants and will try anything to achieve it. This book covers an array of emotions a s covers some sensitive matters that is handled in the most delicious way! M.j. Haag outdid herself in this story it's my favorite Of the series. If you pass on this book you are crazy, just saying

Fantastic! I loved it! Eden is essentially a prisoner and is biding her time before escaping and trying to make it on her own. One of her guards has taken a "special" interest in her and she knows her time for evasion is running out. Eden makes her escape and meets Ghua. She is unsure of his intentions and tries to escape him, only to realize he may be her only hope of survival. Can she learn to trust Ghua - before it's too late?

I love the development of Ghua's character and how the "species" as a whole has developed. This is am amazing continuation in the series!

In this book we meet a girl named Eden. We find out she is not living in the best place. Pretty much slave work and having to watch your back. She decides it’s time to leave off on her own. She will either survive on her own or die.

She meets a Fae who ends up saving her. At first she is scared and things he is kidnapping her. By the end she ends up falling in love.

This book will having you laughing so hard. You will also be saying aww. I love how feisty Eden is. If you read the first 3 books you need to read this!
