I can't even figure out what shelves to put it on, because at 16% I still don't understand what's actually going on. I get the bigger gist, but:

-Too many people/characters.
-Waaaaayyyyyy too many gangs/groups introduced, but not explained.
-And even more districts/places thrown about that have me scratching my head.

That made him a lethal captain for the Rootless Society. Gangs like the Four Winds and Moon Knives saw the Society as a nuisance more than anything, but the Society saw itself as heroe

To be honest, I wasn't really sure what was going on at first as it started off right at the heart of the darkness that Fang found himself in. However once I got my bearings and got the path of the story I couldn't put it down. Fang is such a complex and amazing character that I couldn't help but root for and wish the best for him and for his freedom as he was as much a prisoner as the people of the city were. Fang & Birch were such a complicated but loving pair. At first I just wanted to punch ...more

2.5 rounded up.

Intrigue, danger, violence, vulnerability. When you're behind enemy lines and have been so for at least half of your life it's tough to know when your priorities have shifted. Who will have your back when your allies aren't sure if you're even on their side anymore?

I was kind of confused by what I got after reading the synopsis. The r

The depth of this book surprised me. I expected a typical gangland style brutish story where Fang was selfish, only caring about himself. But with his backstory and the obvious connection he feels with Birch, I was taken by surprise and I loved it. A great story that starts off a little slow, but worth it when you get to the end!

I thought this was a paranormal romance, but it is about street gangs with unique names. This is the first m/m book I have read. I can say this was interesting and worth the time to read. Very good action and adventure.
