Apparently, life doesn’t end when you get married.

When a couple freezes to death on a fifty degree day, Cassie is called in to investigate. The couple ran a daycare out of their home, making preschoolers the key witnesses and even the prime suspects.

Two of those preschoolers are Cassie’s youngest siblings, suggesting conditions at home are worse than she feared. As Cassie

Dear Christine,
Write more for you. THIS. IS. FANTASTIC.
Dare I say your best? Yes, I think it is.

It's what Christine Amsden wrote at the end of Frozen. She wrote it for herself and published it for the fans. I feel like that is what she needs to continue to do. The flow, content, and love that poured out of the pages of Frozen prove that.

The story was tight, yet incredibly engaging. People like me, who've read her from the beginning, will be absolutely thrilled with the way Cassie is now adulting

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!

This is the 7th book in the Cassie Scot series! I highly recommend reading the series in order because you want to know the history and stuff that has happened to characters throughout the journey! I think the series is more for adults due to content and complexities of relatio

This was a very enjoyable book! Although it is number 7 in a series, it can be read as a standalone. However, I enjoyed this one so much that I think I will go back and start at the beginning!

Cassie is a newlywed, a new mother and an investigator of paranormal mysteries. Her husband, Evan, is a powerful sorcerer. When a strange mist envelopes the nearby lake and two people are found frozen to death, the Sherriff enlists Cassie's help to solve the crime.

This book is full of wonderful characters w

The characters in Christine Amsden’s Cassie Scott series wouldn’t let her go when the story was done. They wouldn’t let her readers go either, and Frozen takes up the tale with mothers and children, mothers and grandmothers, and the awesome responsibility of parenthood. Of course, this isn’t just regular parenthood. This is knowing your child will have magical powers, knowing you’ll temporarily inherit those powers, and knowing how to define yourself—never an easy task for Cassie who “set aside ...more

I fell in love with Cassie Scot in the first book I read of the series. I have read every book as they came out and not been disappointed once. I remember when I finished Stolen Dreams I was so sad because the author had said the series was finished. Then came the books about Cassie’s friends. And then, with hope never dying, I got the news that a new Cassie book was coming! Oh joy! The author did not let me down. Frozen picks up flawlessly and it is as if the series never had a break.

I chose to read this book after receiving a free e-copy from the author. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

I have read the complete Cassie Scot series by Christine Amsden and was sorry to see it end, so I was thrilled when I learned that she decided to continue writing about Eagle Rock. First, she wrote about Cassie's best friends Madison and Kaitlin. And now Cassie is back!

Christine Amsden’s writing style flows well and is easy to read. There are a lot of characters

A young couple found frozen inside a house covered with ice, when the temperature outside is fifty degrees. A large number of suicides have occurred recently. The sighting of a werewolf, or is it something else? Weird things are happening in the area and the sheriff asks Cassie and Ethan for help in solving the mystery. Yes, Cassandra (Cassie) Scot is back in Author Christine Amsden’s latest novel FROZEN, Book Seven in A Paranormal Mystery series. And I’m so happy to see her and her interesting ...more

I was excited to read the book as it was my first paranormal mystery. Even though it is book seven of Cassie Scott series but could be read as standalone.

I really loved this book. Right from the characters and to the description this book completely kept me attached to its story. I read this book as standalone and at any instance I didn’t see any links which associates with the previous books in the series. This book had what needed for the reader to read this book without any break. A very big

First off I would like to say that this is in the Young Adult genre. I am still not quite sure what that means--all I know is that I have loved every single one of the books in this series. Down below, where you see all the titles--Yes--I have read every one of them!! There is just something about how Christine Amsden write that grabs me. I was really heartbroken when she originally announced that the series was ended. I was SO HAPPY when she decided to continue with Cassie Scot's life! I went i ...more

I loved the Cassie Scot series, so when the author asked me to read and provide an honest review of Frozen, I couldn’t wait! I had trepidations about the read, however, when Cassie started the novel out by talking about the story after the happily ever after. Personally, I read fantasy because I want to escape reality. I don’t want to read about things not working out after the HEA. My fears for Frozen were unfounded. It’s a great read with an interesting story that will keep you turning the pag ...more

I hadn't realized how much I missed spending time with characters that I loved. And I absolutely loved getting to spend more time with Cassie. While I did enjoy the two spin-offs featuring her friends Madison and Kaitlin, they just weren't the same. Apparently magic is nothing without Cassie and Evan; they are the best.

The story is great because not only does it take you back into this world but also lets you know what Cassie and her family have been up to since the last book. I couldn't put it

Christine does it again! She puts out another (# 7 in the series) fantastic book full of paranormal action, mystery, and full of little heartfelt moments. This story keeps you on the edge of your seat hanging on every word almost all through the book. A lot of very original idea in this one and I love it!

I have read every book in this series and I really think this is the best one! A lot of twists and a lot of fun action in this one! Great character development! I love the addition of Cassie and

Excellent addition to the series, my favorite story thus far. I love seeing Cassie mature as well as get glimpses of other characters from this series. Review to follow.

People are turning up dead and Sheriff Adams calls Cassie in to help out with the case. A couple is found frozen to death in their home. The temp at the home inside and out is freezing but just a few yards away the temp is a warm fifty degrees. This leads everyone to the conclusion that magic was involved but who and why?

Babies are born with a new kind of magic and a lot stronger. Babies that have had their powers bound are slipping out more often and a lot quicker. Cassie’s little brother and

I typically read mysteries but will also listen to comments from family or friends and check out authors based on their comments and/or those expressed on Amazon. Frozen was a page turner. I could easily reconnect with the characters from previous books in the series. The writing was superb! I could picture each scene and kept waiting to see how the problem(s) would be solved.

I received an ARC from the author to give an honest review.

I really do enjoy this series because it is the perfect blend of magic, drama, love, and cleanness. We have Cassie who has really been trying to take care of her own little family especially since now she has her own little girl. Though when she gets involved with helping a case where people are frozen and there seem to be hellhounds showing up she knows it is magic though she can't figure out yet

For me each book in the series has grown in maturity and complexity. They have also gotten better. I love that now we get a glimpse of life after marriage and the tragic death of Cassie’s father. We see how Evan is being or not being accepted by Cassie’s family. How they are doing together. But more importantly we see that life hasn’t stopped and there is still mysteries and danger out there for Cassie and Evan to deal with.

Here we have a murder to start off the mystery. And what a murder it was

Disclosure: I received a review copy from the author in exchange for a honest review.

I was sad when the Cassie Scot series wrapped up but Amsden ended up writing a spin-off of Cassie’s best friends Kaitlyn and Madison and I loved those just as much as Cassie’s book…I’d take anything to be able to able spend more time in the magical world of Eagle Rock and with its inhabitants. Wow, I love this series and this book is another great story to add to an amazing series or should I say magical series. What makes it so great for me is the characters, they are all slightly damaged or broken and at war with each other but when they get together anything is possible. I liked learning more about what happened to Cassie's family after the death of her father and really hope the author is hard at work writing the next book.

Fans of the Cassie Scot: ParaNormal Detective urban fantasy series will enjoy this the 7th instalment. This time, Cassie is married…but if you think life ends when you’re married, think again, especially in the small paranormal town of Eagle Rock, where everyone seems to have a magical ancestry and magic keeps popping up in unexpected places. In fact, the magic seems to be getting greater every year, with sorcerers growing stronger and mothers like Cassie channelling more magic while pregnant. T ...more

I was so excited when Christine sent me an email and asked me to review this 7th book in the Cassie Scot mysteries series! I didn't realize until I started reading it just how much I missed this storyline and all the people in it.

I actually think this 7th book, Frozen, is one of the best since the first book she wrote. It has more colorful details and twists that even I had a hard time figuring out who the good guys were versus the bad ones! I have read so many paranormal, mysteries, thrillers a

I am a huge fan of this type of urban fantasy adventure stories. Something terrible and scary is happening, and the police department turns to the paranormal investigator for help. But this trouble is so much bigger than Cassie expected. We have unknown beasties, more magic than the town knew existed, and very special (and concerning) abilities. The big bad causing the chaos is related to something surprising, and the overall situation is quite sad. Sometimes people have to make difficult decisi ...more

I was soooo excited to get my hands on this book and it didn't disappoint. Honestly, I was afraid I wouldn't connect as well to Cassie now that her life has changed so much but I couldn't have been more wrong. This is book 7 in the series and I reccomend reading all of them, it helps with the backstory. Cassie is a new mother and is newly married, but she is still up for investigating!

There is a lot going on and the story touches on issues within families, both with husband/wife and with parents

From the moment Cassie Scot married Evan Blackwood, she knew her life would never be the same. Despite the fact that things are a tad stable between them and her family, not everyone is pleased with the situation. To make things more cumbersome, she's decided to let Evan keep the magic his father siphoned from her so long ago.

Things soon take an unexpected turn when odd events start taking place around town. Though she's not sure who's wielding magic this time around, she knows she and the other

Christine Amsden has been writing science fiction and fantasy for as long as she can remember. She loves to write and it is her dream that others will be inspired by this love and by her stories.
