I was captured...

That’s just the beginning of my tale. I’ve survived Purgatory, abuse, and near death. In that abandoned farmhouse I nearly lost everything, but Jacob saved me. We were trapped in this hell together, giving each other the strength to hold on. I fell into darkness with my captor’s son.

Until I left him behind.

She was perfect, my Alana. Brilliant and full of p

Whispers in the Dark is the first book I've read by LeTeisha Newton. It's dark, intense, and twisted as fuck. This is not a book for the squeamish, folks. I know a lot of books claim to be dark, but this one actually is. I wouldn't say it's "pitch black," but it pretty damn dark. Expect a lot of rape, torture, physical abuse, mental anguish, murder, and all around insanity.

Alana Masters is kidnapped near her home on the way to school when she is just 18 years old. The man that abducts her keeps

So this book was...INTERESTING. Saying I enjoyed it seems a bit weird. It was VERY dark. Maybe one of the darkest I have read to date. It would be wise to heed those trigger warnings because this isn't a book to dip your "dark romance" toe into. That said, it was very well written. I struggled with the pace a bit. For me, it was a bit too long and slow in places. I think the plot could have been tightened up a bit. There were a lot of extra scenes that didn't really add

Warning: This book is full of triggers. It’s wicked dark, with created evil falling in love. People die. They are hurt horribly. The bad guys get away, and there is no apology for it. Hardcore trigger within these pages.

Take heed. The warning is there for good reason. This was dark, dark, dark. And my black heart apparently enjoys that kinda thing. ;)

Held captive after she was abducted on her way to school, she survives the darkness with the help of the son of the devil who took her. After making her escape, she leaves him behind though yet can’t leave behind the memories. And when the past catches up to her, the life she leads everyone to believe she lives is far from the truth. And the only

#DarkThanDark Love isn't always rainbows and butterflies. Most the time it hurts. It rips into the skin, and leaves you breathless. Other times it leaves you on the floor, battered and bruised with no way to heal. For Alana and Jacob, it was the only way the survived in a world of purgatory, and linked them together in ways they never imagined. And when captive became captor? All bets were off.

This book is dark and twisted but oh so good.

This is my first book by this author and will not be my last. I was hooked from the first chapter. The story is not an easy one hard to read at times.

Alana and Jacob's story is messed up... Jacob's father kidnaps Alana that is when she meets Jacob, yes he is his father's son but he has taken to Alana and can't handle what his father is doing.. But together they need to survive purgatory. I don't want to go into the story you just need to read for you

Whispers in the Dark is such a brilliant dark read. If you like dark reads then you will love this one. From start to finish I was absolutely gripped.

One moment in time changes Alanas life. She’s kidnapped, tortured and raped for two years. When she escapes her life will never be normal again. This is told in two points of view, Alana and Jacob.

I absolutely loved this story. Heed the trigger warnings but if your like me and have no limits you’ll love this story.
Really hope this author writes

It's a huge problem in the world. Children's pics on milk cartons, missing columns of newspapers, on tv, flyers on posts. So many kikid go missing , they either run away or are abducted daily. I often wonder what happened to them.
Well we know what happened to Alana, who was accosted by a stranger asking for time.

The Princess of Dark Play has definitely exceeded ALL expectations with Whispers in the Dark! I knew from page one something big was happening but naturally it wasn’t obvious. A true writer, an artist of their craft, can give you the hebejebes without one clue! So I had that feeling.....

But dagnabbit! I didn’t see this particular darkness coming! Total destruction. Total darkness. Totally DELISH! This chick Alana and her side of pitch black, Jacob, are masters of their craft! You must read it to

Ever read a book where you flinch and wanna close your eyes but you need the light to get out of such darkness? This is that book. Dark, crazy, intense and so much more. Alana is a normal girl until one day her life changes forever. Jacob his whole world has been darkness until a glimpse of light called Alana. What a twisted insane story that I never wanted it to end. The characters make you feel so many different emotions it grips at your heart. Definitely a top 2018 dark romance of mine! 5/5 s ...more

I think it’d be faster to list what triggers were not in this book.

LeTeisha Newton’s Whispers in the Dark isn’t for the faint of heart. If you don’t mind digging into damaged psyches with sociopath tendencies then buckle up because you’re in for a helluva dark, sadistic ride.

Whispers in the Dark is the first book that I have read by LeTeisha Newton. This is a dark romance read –one that is dark, intense, so very twisted, and very angsty and raw.
Alana Masters is kidnapped near her home on the way to school when she is just 18 years old. The man who took her did terrible things to her; she was kept in a cage and this man brutalized her body to the point that he breaks her down until she is just a shell of who she once was. Jacob is Alana's captor's son. He was raised

Well goodness what a little gem this book turned out to be. Went into it totally blind. Let me warn you, if you have triggers or don’t like to read dark books, please stay away from this one. Or at least read the warning:

Holy DARKNESS! 5 psychotic and WTF stars!
Obsession, possession, revenge, brutal.... I can’t, I’ll be here all day. The warning for this one does not need to be taken lightly. There’s rape, physical & mental abuse, brutality and kidnapping all tucked into this fabulous story. This is dark chocolate with zero vanilla. Well done, Newton!!

Once I picked this up, there was no going back. I also had the thought, ‘I’m not coming out of this the same the same way I went in…’ This book can change the way you think - or just get you thinking. It’s dark, but it’s oh-so-good. I’ll never be able to say enough or do it justice, but I’ll give it a shot.

Starts off with action that’ll get your heart racing and quickly turns dark. The darkness doesn’t leave as the reader is exposed to alternating POVs of two characters, both of whom are trapped

Warning: This is a very dark and twisted read. It is not for most people. There are detailed descriptions of events that could be triggers for some. If you get easily disturbed or offended you will want to pass on this one. Don't be that person who ignores the warnings and then cuts down the author for the type of content contained within.

If you enjoy an escape from reality into the world of the sick and depraved I recommend reading this one. The entire time I was reading I felt as if I was bei

The following is the warning listed in the book’s description: “Warning: This book is full of triggers. It’s wicked dark, with created evil falling in love. People die. They are hurt horribly. Hello darkness my old friend…….

Newton knows exactly how to lure her readers to the dark side. The real depth of characters, an insight to demons that plague the victims, and a love story born and bred from blood, pain, and madness.

Whispers in the Dark is a crazy dark suspenseful book sure to tease those who love the darker reads. Two characters who are choreographed by the pure insanity that comes with broken people and flawed romance. A beautiful dark tainted love story about a woman that is

Wow, when this book warns that it has potential triggers, people should definitely take heed! This has to be one of the darkest and most graphic novels that I have read in a long time. Alana is kidnapped at age 18 and systematically tortured and raped for almost two years. And yes, most of this is chronicled in the story and not glossed over. By the time she is able to escape with the kidnapper's son, Jacob, she is no longer even recognizable as the young woman who was kidnapped. The second half ...more

The synopsis attracted me to this book like a moth to a flame and I knew I had to read this story as soon as I read the synopsis.
I am new to this author but I absolutely love dark reads so gave it a shot and omg I definitely wasn't disappointed.
I absolutely loved this story and Alana and Jacobs tale definitely kept me on my toes throughout.
I was hooked from the first chapter and whilst it is dark, depraved and a little stabby it was also addictive, engaging and delightful.

MASTER is the most sadistic psychopath imaginable. He kidnaps beautiful women to serve as his, “toys“, beating, abusing and raping them every day in an attempt to create the perfect son.

“I was in Hell and this man was the Devil. As soulless black eyes stared me down, his enjoyment of seeing me cry played over his features. My pain was his pleasure. My cries were the source of his completion.”

I don’t even have appropriate words. This is not an easy story to read. It’s beyond dark and twisty. It puts you right in the mind of psychotic people and makes you question if this is fiction or reality, as it literally is written , to me that is, as if Ms LeTeisha Newton was a priestess taken confession from those dark and crazy people and sculpted their words in to this story.

Forget star crossed lovers. Imagine a match made by the Devil himself in a hell of his making. Ever heard the term "The Devil Got Ya"? This is it!
This book is dark, amazing, demented, a real work of art. You can't help but hope these two lovers wreak havoc on the world and watch it burn down around them from each others arms.
This is one heck of a dark read. I think it just about ticks every available dark box. It is full of potential triggers. Yes it's that good.

The story is written from both Alana and Jacob's points of view and is split into two parts. The first chunk of the book covers her capture and those first few months. The man who takes her isn't nice and the author doesn't 'fade to grey' or leave anything unsaid. She was taken for Jacob, but his father is too evil to ever truly share or give anything away,

Be warned this read is dark and intense. Alana and Jacob survive the unimaginable at the hands of Jacob’s father. Alana is finally able to escape however Jacob is left behind. Eight years later Jacob finds her again and this time he plans on keeping her for himself. Both Alana and Jacob are broken but try to do good in their own way. The story really grips you from beginning to end. A difficult read but a very good one.
