Thoughts:I'm not sure where to start! This was such a fun read, I giggled almost all the way through this book with a few aww moments thrown in with some tears. Now that I've had the pleasure of reading this one I will definitely have to read the first book! Fiona is a trip, I'm pretty sure I fell in love with her and now have a book hangover. And Mark, swoon, he will most definitely

Are you in the mood for a romantic comedy? Wanting something with a bit of a suspense and thrill to it? The Spark first drew me in by the cover as it had a cutesy feel to it and I just expected this to be a sweet romance. Instead, The Spark by Sylvie Stewart had me laughing out loud as I read through the book. Inside it turned out to be a Romantic Comedy/Suspense tale. We are introduced first to Fiona Pierce, who comes across a bit of a ditzy air head that comes from money. She is also sarcasti ...more

I volunteered to read this book for an honest review for United Indie Book Blog -This is one hilarious book. I absolutely loved the writing style of Sylvie Stewart. This book had my laughing out loud getting funny looks from the hubby. I loved the banter between characters, most especially between Fiona and Mark. These two have sworn off relationships of any kind, not to mention the idea of everlasting love. So the idea of a casual hook up is the best thing for both of them one would think, exce ...more

** I volunteered to read an advance reviewer copy of this book. **

This is just shy of a five-star rating. I laughed so hard at Fiona's thoughts my throat hurt. And my chest tightened and its entire cavity was warmed by Mark. Plus I came very close to crying. An easy read with colorful characters, both primary and secondary, and a storyline that evokes hope with every turn of the page.

I received a complementary copy of this book and voluntarily review it.

I voluntarily read this ARC for an honest review. There are so many things I loved about this book. First of all, it has to be one of the funniest books I've read in a long time. The writing is very witty and the characters have great chemistry.
Fiona Price, a pixie of a woman, is unstoppable. She is dedicated in everything she does, wether it's volunteering for a charity, cooking for her friends, there isn't anything she won't do. Except allowing herself to get involved in a relationship. Friend

The first thing I thought after starting this book was… Wow, she rambles. And boy does she ramble. The character, not the author, that is. And it was cute. So cute how different parts of her mind and body joined the rambling, like Guilt and Pride and her female body parts. It made me laugh more than once.
After reading the first chapter from the female point of view I was asking myself how the author would manage it to let the male part sound diff

Fun, fulfilling and fast-paced, Sylvie Stewart’s latest book, The Spark, is also a masterclass in how to write a strong, sexy heroine with a hint of vulnerability that a reformed playboy hero simply can’t resist.

The story moves along at a cracking pace and while it takes a while for Fiona and Mark to actually meet, we learn a lot about their backgrounds in the meantime – and it really helped me warm to them.

I did struggle at first with the book’s bright and chatty style but that could have somet

This is the first book I have read by this author and I enjoyed it so much. Asset first it was a little hard for me to get in to, but once I did I was hooked!! Fiona and Mark are too cute. Fiona has had a hard time in life and is not really sure how to live for the future. She lives by fake it till you make it. Don't get me wrong she is sweet and totally funny but a childhood illness has left her a little skittish about the future. Mark is a playboy no other way around it. Relationships nope not ...more

Although this is the second book of a series, I felt that it worked well as a stand alone. I never felt lost or like I was missing something. In fact, it was easy to get right into the interesting and realistic romance story which was well written and had great dialogues between the fun characters. Once I started reading, I didn't want to stop. There were both serious and funny content as well as drama within the book, and I quite enjoyed it. I am actually curious about the first book in the ser ...more

You need a good laugh this is the book for you!

Fiona is one of those people who's heart is made of gold. She see's that you are suffering she has this need to fix you. To help med that heart and make things right. That is what she did with Mark and his family. Not only that but she fell hard for Mark too!
Mark who's types were young, blonde and oh so high schoolish! Once he was in Fiona's radar there was not getting out of it. They were not really kind towards each other at first. There were smal

This book was funny to the very end. While it says it's part 2 in the series, it is made to stand alone, which I truly appreciate. We meet Fiona, a stubborn and feisty cancer survivor who has more money than most people because of her parents, and we meet Mark, a man well built, who works hard and takes of his mother. The two couldn't be more opposite, and Stewart lays for us a well written, funny and sexy tale bringing these two together. The characters are well established and each play their ...more

Funny. As. Hell. I have officially found a new author. Fiona is a cancer survivor sort of drifting through her twenties unsure of what she wants to do with her life. So she bides her time by helping her wealthy parents raise money for childhood cancer research. Through mutual friends, she meets Mark, a meathead manwhore. Turns out that Mark is having some family drama and Fiona is just the person to help him with it.

Okay, so I know the whole manwhore, one and done thing has been done. He just ne

Fiona is the best friend of Laney from the first book 'the spark' but the book is a good standalone. Fiona is a small, feisty woman who always seems to be warm and sunny but has a way with words if needed. Mark experiences this when he tries to flirt with her and gets blasted.
When they get involved after her help with some family issues Mark soon realizes he wants more than 'friends with benefits' but Fiona has her reasons for keeping it that way.

I really liked this story. Well written, not to

The Spark is a great sequel to The Fix but also completely enjoyable on its own. It is witty, steamy, and hilarious. The characters are well developed and fun to follow, and the book is fast paced and hard to put down. The writing is very good, and I loved the way the main characters took turns narrating the story. The Spark is a great addition to The Carolina Connection Series. I can't wait to read the next book!

This was a great read, and I didn't know it wasn't a standalone. I quickly warmed up to Fiona, and her attitude, which takes a little getting used to, and I liked that she was dealing with a real issue along with a man. I think the author did a good job for peppering this story with humor, because it makes the story so relatable and lifelike.

Sylvie asked me to read this book and I am so glad I did! I am super OCD about reading in order, but you really can read this as standalone. I got hooked and bought book 1! Immediately had me rolling...sarcasm and profanity and requirements. Thank you so much Sylvie and am excited to read about Laney and cannot wait for Jake's story :)

The Spark by Sylvie Stewart a fantastic five-star read. This is book two in the Carolina Connections novels series by Sylvie Stewart. If you have not read book one, STOP, do not pass go, do not collect $200, go read it NOW! Sure, this could probably be read as a standalone however, I would highly suggest that the books are read in order. They will make much more sense and besides you will laugh so hard you cry so why not read it first??? Seriously, it is nice because the characters are an extension from the first b

The Spark is the second book in the Carolina Connections series by Sylvie Stewart and is a romantic comedy. This book can be read as a standalone and has no cliff hanger. I have not read anything by this author so I was really looking forward to potentially finding a new author to add to my ever growing list! This book had me in stitches from the get go! The Spark is the second book in the Carolina Connections Series. It can be read as a standalone with a HEA (Happy Ever After). It is the story of Mark and Fiona who are friends of Laney and Nate the main characters of Book One: The Fix.

Fiona Pierce is a multi-complex character despite her tiny size. Fiercely independent she will stop at nothing to prove she is a strong, capable, dutiful and loyal daughter and bestie to Laney. Fiona puts smiles on people’s faces, cheers them up and makes them fee

The Spark (Carolina Connections) by Sylvie Stewart is part of the Carolina Connection series. This book is a romantic comedy that is fun, witty and that has a touch of suspense to it. You will love how the author has brought some of the characters that was introduced in the first story, The Fix, to this story. Although this story can be read as a stand alone, it is not necessary to read the first one but once you read this one you will want to read the first one. You will love how the author has ...more

Award-winning author Sylvie Stewart is addicted to Romantic Comedy and Contemporary Romance, and she’s not looking for a cure. She hails from the great state of North Carolina, so it’s no surprise that most of her books are set in the Tar Heel state. She’s a wife to a hilarious dude, and mommy to nine-year-old twin boys who tend to take after their father in every way. Sylvie often wonders if they ...more
