An insider's guide to the first five seasons of the hit television series includes diary-like entries by a wide assortment of cast members, previously unpublished photographs, and a section on the recent on-air reunion. TV tie-in.
I LOVED THIS BOOK & MOST OF THE SHOWS IN THE SERIES: NYC; HAWAII; VENICE BEACH/LOS ANGELES; CHICAGO; & MIAMI & EVEN WHEN THEY RETURNED BACK TO NYC AGAIN! I didn't like the Boston; San Diego; SAN Francisco; Philly; Cleveland, & London shows in the series, finding them quite boring. I bought this book because I wanted to know the backstories & behind-the-scenes of the cast members & was pleasantly surprised with what was in it. All seriousness. Say what you will about MTV, BUT THEY WERE GAME CHANGERS BY SHINING A LIGHT ON PEDRO'S AIDS BATTLE; Ruthie's substance abuse issues; & THE LIFESTYLES OF THE LGBTQ+ Communities that would've otherwise been shunned had MTV's eclectic casting for TRW series had not shown people who represented these communities during this time frame. I'm of the opinion that this show made very diverse individuals more accepted in certain societies when other shows were not ready or WILLING to do so! My only wish is that with their casting that they would've presented the Black people/People of Color in a better light on the shows.
