There’s no big bang or apocalyptic event, just some poor bloke waking up from a coma to find that everything that could go wrong apparently has. Although the event was telegraphed to the human race for years before nobody actually knew what would go wrong and when they did in true Hitchhiker tradition that had enough time to go ‘Oh Bother’ before dropping dead.
Enter Cole from his coma and who managed to put together the chain of events which left him, to his knowledge, the last human alive
