Plant identification terminology: An illustrated glossary

Rate this book
Plant taxonomy employs an extensive and complex terminology. The meaning of most botanical terms, however, is immediately apparent when an illustration is available. This is the purpose of this volume. This book provides over 1700 clear illustrations of terms used in plant identification keys and descriptions. It includes definitions for more than 2,400 taxonomic terms.

Best plant terminology book out there. I used an older version in college and still recommend it today to anyone trying to key plants. The illustrations of the terms are what make this book so useful. I will use it today at work for keying plants and looking up terms I have forgotten or do not know.

A beginning botanist's best friend. This is an illustrated dictionary of technical identification terms, to be used in conjunction with a technical floristic key.
