Sooo...when is this book ACTUALLY releasing???

- Amazon says 4 January 2050
- Book Depository says 1 June 2021
- IndieBound says 4 January 2050
- Waterstones says 18 August 2020
- and it's disappeared from Barnes & Noble's website

WHAT IS GOING ON??? Goodreads also says 18 August 2020, so I'm rather confused...

Alwyn Hamilton's books could step on me and I'd thank them. This officially became one of my Top 3 Most Anticipated for 2020. Forget Area 51, does anyone want to storm the Penguin offices for ARCs? (Just kidding...kind of) ...more

I'm confused as to why I got an email that this book was released today and yet it's not actually available anywhere? Like Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Book Depository all say it's not available...

I've never seen this happen before
Okay, August 18, 2020 that’s way more reasonable lol
Umm...I swear this was listed as a May 5, 2020 release but now that date has been related from this page and when I click the Amazon link it says January 4, 2050!? Like wtf happened lol

Because I will read anything she writes, I immediately followed the link from her most recent newsletter here, only to find I'd already added it to my to-read list. Since I have no memory of this event, the only logical conclusion is that I've been sleep-goodreadsing again.
I'm not gonna lie, this is a proud moment for me.

Is it just me, or does this sound similar to The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes? I mean, even the cover looks the same...

Like, look at The Inheritance Games’ cover and then scroll up to look at that one:

The Inheritance Games

I clicked on this book because I genuinely thought it was the sequel to Barnes’ book.

Guess I have to read it to see.

I am honestly so frustrated right now. I love Alwyn's book. I just cannot believe how publishing companies are unable to produce certain books during these trying times (that were promised with actual publication dates and preorder payments!), while NEW popular, nasty, depressing topics of what we ARE living through flood bookstore and library shelves. It's a literary disgrace. Just because suddenly people express interest in certain current topics does not give license to cease publishing all e ...more
