Coyote Ranch #1

Rope Me, Cowboys

Rate this book
Three sexy cowboys. One mishap-prone virgin. What could go wrong?

To avoid a public scandal after a night of too much tequila, senator's daughter Amber Durant agrees to disappear for three months.

She thinks she's going to babysit her new stepfather's three sons on his ranch in Wyoming. Turns out, they're all grown up. In all the right ways. But she can't have any of them, because they're her stepbrothers.

It's going to be a long three months.

The book is the beginning of the story of Amber, Waylon, Sawyer and Holden...
...and it basically combines a number of different favourite theme romances like:
1. Reverse harem
2. Stepbrother romance
3. Cowboys

Amber is super cute snd bubbly, but I expect more smut in the next book because in the first book hardly anything happens.

Jackpot

Yes I have found the mother-load of all my favourite smut tropes in one glorious package...

Reverse Harem

Cowboy

and .... Stepbrother

I'm just not sure where to go from here now...
maybe the shame box for actually seeking out this kind of thing and liking it

Good opener to the series. I don't know if I am going to really like Amber. She seems kinda spoiled and bratty but then you see some of the back story and why she acts out. Also she seems awfully slutty, and I don't mean that in a bad way, for someone who is a virgin; prancing around naked in front of the guys, taunting them, then groping and touching them. It just seems a little incongruous. But anyway, I enjoyed it and will continue with the series.

Quick, fun RH read. Good writing and likable characters. It's a good series set and starting book. The characters are set up well and not caricatbots, which would be easy to do here. Personally, I wanted fewer flashbacks as some felt unneeded and more time with the boys. I'm definitely ready for things to cross the line. Overall good first in the series and I'll for sure read more. I recommend and assure you it's not cheesy cowboy (you know exactly what I mean ;).)
I requested and received an arc copy of this book and this is my voluntary, true, and honest opinion.

This is a short but a thoroughly enjoyable read. I really liked the premise of the story and although I thought from the blurb that the main character would be a spoilt brat, she wasn't and I really liked her. In fact the author also managed to tug on my emotions with the main character, and at times was close to tears about things she's gone through in the past.
I also liked the three main men, they were hot, sexy, sweet and one of them is a meany with a heart of gold. Don't let the title of this book put you off as it really was an enjoyable read.

This is one of the contemporary romances that I don't know exactly how to feel about, it has all your ultimate fantasies, cowboys, stepbrothers, harem content you'd want to indulge in but it was way too smutty for me.
A spoiled brat, daughter of a senator is taking advantage of all the freedom she could get but ends up sent to the countrysides where her stepbrothers reside in order to learn how to control the urge to have attention whenever she breathed, that's how I put it. Only to be surprised because there are three handsomely crafted stepbrothers on the wait for her, now let's get to what was stupid for me, the pace was way too fast, not only in this book because it was such short small read but also in the other three books, the character of the female is just stupid and outrageous, she gets in trouble whenever she inhales air basically but don't worry the stepbrothers are to the rescue but are quite fed up with her clumsiness although it was slightly throwing off to me, I find the male characters tolerable, not too much though, it is fairly well written, now I have read the second and the third Coyote Ranch series because you get curious about what is going to happen and that is another I liked about the story, it sort of keeps you wanting more but I couldn't really get to the fourth book of the series because at that point it was already a happy ending.

PS: to contemporary romance writers, love doesn't really come within a blink of an eye, it's more like physical attraction which always triggers me in those kinds of stories.

Rope me, Cowboy by Alexa B James

What a fantastic debut novella. I really enjoyed this contemporary reverse harem romance; it’s a quick read and the first part in a series. It’s lighthearted, romantic and comical; what more could you possibly want from a book? The main female character is an unruly politicians daughter that has been starved of her parents attention and affection all of her life. To counteract this she acts out hoping to get noticed; unfortunately this results in her being noticed by the media and eventually an incident leads to her being arrested by the police. As punishment by her mother and stepfather, she is sent to live on a ranch in the middle of nowheresville with 3 sexy, hot, dishy, buff cowboys, that are also her newly acquired stepbrothers. Let the funny times and romance flowwwwwww!!

I love all the characters in this and can really empathise with Amber. Love the guys too, all very different to each other, but all bring a little something different to the table. Being a farm girl myself that moved to the city in my late teen years, I found the cow chasing incident and the fence etc relatable! I have been chased by a bullock a time of two!

I can honestly say this was a pleasure to read, it was well put together and written. The only thing I disliked about this book was that it was so short and ended, roll on book 2.

Giving this a solid and well deserved 5/5

It’s not easy being a Senator’s daughter, especially if you’ve been ignored much of the time and are craving attention. The situation can often lead to acting out – even negative attention can fulfill that need. But it’s not such a good idea in the political spotlight, as Amber Durant soon found out. She had a bit too much to drink one night and her parents felt her behavior warranted going into temporary seclusion to avoid a big scandal. She is sent off to spend 3 months at her stepfather’s ranch, thinking she’s the new babysitter for his three sons back in Wyoming. Actually the guys are all grown up; but being stepbrothers, that takes all the fun out of it – doesn’t it? Here is where the reader will start laughing and have a difficult time stopping.

The characters are very likable, and the story line rolls out at a perfect pace. This is a fun read and I definitely recommend it!

This is a good start to this new reverse harem contemporary romance series (Coyote Ranch). I'm curious to see what is going to happen next in this series as it is a four book series. The synopsis of this novel describes a highly entertaining & comical read which fits the manuscript perfectly. The heroine Amber is fun, spunky, & not sexually inhibited. Heroes sexy coyboy brothers Waylon, Sawyer, & Holden are a mix bag of a bad boy, flirt, & good guy. The flashbacks in between the chapters give a bit more of detail of Amber's character. The story flows through at a perfect pace. This is a fun, witty read with easygoing character's that will have you craving the next novel in this reverse harem contemporary romance series.

What a fun read. A reverse harem contemporary novel set on a ranch. I really like MFC character she was spunky and fun and wasn't afraid of her sexuality. The male characters were also likeable if a bit stereotypical, nice guy, the flirt and the bad boy. A enjoyable quick read and look forward to book 2

I really enjoyed this book. It's a fun read. I found myself laughing out loud a couple times. The main character is fun and likeable. She got arrested in New York and her mother sends her to live with her new stepbrothers. This may not be as much of a punishment as she seemed to think it was. I can't wait for the next book.

A sexy fun reverse harem style book about Amber & her new, very grown, very sexy, stepbrothers. After finding out her mother is married she is sent to a ranch to 'babysit' her stepbrothers, but is pleasantly surprised when she finds out they are in fat not young children, and are there to watch over her instead. Great for a lighthearted read, looking forward to book 2

Hallmark-ish

This book gives me Hallmark vibes while reading it. Its a slow, simmering burn….but it’s still pretty chaste. It’s pretty sweet actually, and I’m going to keep reading because I want to know how they’re going to come together. Also, I want to know if this is going to turn into a FTB or on-page steaminess.

Good Start

This is a nice beginning to a new series. I want to hug Amber. That girl needs some unconditional love in her life. Holden is a teddy bear, Sawyer is shameless and Waylon is a bit of a dick. I'm so looking forward to them all falling hard.

Great new series

I love RH books. I really enjoyed this contemporary take on the genre. The MC is likable, well-developed and you feel for her. Her three stepbrothers are good characters, each individual. I look forward to seeing what happens with Waylon!

Liked it.

I love step brother romances and the fact that this one is RH makes it even better. The story was good but really short. The guys are not fleshed out so hopefully we see some character development in the next book. In will be giving the next book in the series a try.

This book was hilarious. Though Amber seemed to be one horny girl, throwing herself just to get laid. Seriously, where’s her dignity? Not that I blame her with three men but come on.. what happened to self preservation?

Amber is kind of a hot mess after getting shocking news and getting sent to a Wyoming ranch to learn responsibility. James does a great job of showing Amber’s reckless side, but also her vulnerability. The guys are hot and there is a lot of tension - I look forward to book 2!

Really good start to a quick read. It’s a slow burn so your getting to know Amber and why she’s been punished with going to Coyote Ranch to be babysat. Her best fiend Haley is a hoot. The brothers all sound make your mouth water hot so that’s always fun.

Dnf yet another book that doesn't bother to tell us its about a teenager just who finished high school. I cant stand reading books about teenagers.

The immaturity I just couldn't stand.

I dont want to read about children thanks.

Good start

This was a good start to a new series. I would have liked a bit more interaction between Amber and the guys but I'm assuming that will come in the next book.

A quick read- read it in a few hours. I enjoyed Amber’s word vomit and her insistence to photograph a cow was funny. Not much character development with the guys in this book so don’t know much about them or those mysterious cabins.
