Beautiful imagination
Artfully recounted story featuring an awakening, intelligent heroine and dastardly, piercing-eyes alpha. The author detailed their tale in vivid imagery such that you see the heroine growing up in her home country, feel her love for the Sister and care for her brother, and experience the graduating and undeniable burning attraction between the two main characters. The love scenes were smoking hot. Their chemistry could be felt from the virtual pages.
This book has an element of darkness, more “gray” (at least for me) than dark.
Fierce romance abounds in this first part. Hope to read more about the hero’s close personal contacts, line of work, and of course the evolution of the relationship. Great book. Excited to read the next in the series.

Are two books needed?
I saw this book recommended for people who like bwwm dark romance. The h and H didn’t get to know each other and the story lost its plot very quickly. Trigger warning also needed about human trafficking. I never read stuff containing that topic because it terrifies me. Came to the end and discovered there’s a part 2. Is it really necessary- could have made into a novel instead of dividing into 2 sections. Will I go on to read the next instalment? Probably not because this one didn’t grip me as it did the other reviewers. If anyone has any suggestions for what I should read next, let me know!
