Reading this book was like watching the movie. Of course, this wasn't made into a movie but it would make a great one. They wouldn't include ALL the love scenes though... this IS a romance novel. But, there is so much to this story, which made it so engrossing.
Pop off the pages, come to life dimentional characters...Likeable, everyone of them, except of course for the main villain. Jesse James and Cole Younger, both portrayed ruthless, even had their moments of likeability.
April 15, 1865, the remnants of Quantrill's Confederate guerrillas raise the white flag of surrender to Union troops per the President's declaration of promised Amnesty. What they got wasn't amnesty, but betrayal...and so the story begins...
The writing is so descriptive...I lost myself in it. The characters are realistic...an Alpha H who warmed my blood...a spit and vinegar h who is genuine and both sweet and sassy.
What happened to this Author? I'm looking for more by Suzannah Davis.

Wow, what can I say. When I read a book word for word and don't skip any pages then it's a good story. Lots of twists and turns at every corner. It did start off a bit slow but that did not detract from the story. Theirs was a love hate relationship, a marriage of convenience to save his life. He started off with amnesia but a kiss brought back memories in the worse possible way. A betrayal from his previous wife that left him broken hearted. He discovers he is now married to her so decides while undercover he'll drag her with him. She now believes him to be an outlaw and tries to sway him to change. One mess less to another and eventually love is stronger and true identities are revealed. HEA ending. Second time reading the book and it still keeps me entertained.
