I decided to read this book as I'm going to Rome at the end of the month for a few days and this is a good book if you want to know about Rome and the tourist attractions.
I got this book out the charity shop so unfortunately the DVD that came with the book was missing so I can't really tell you about the DVD.

An all-encompassing guide about Rome and the Vatican which presents quite a holistic view about the two cities without being too heavy on details. It's divided into chapters (such as Ancient Rome, Monumental Rome, the Vatican and the churches) and for once, I was glad to have stumbled upon a guide that has a very good translation from Italian to English. This book is also visually-heavy, with lots of illustrations, diagrams and maps.
Bonus point: there are plenty of QR codes in this book. If I scan the QR code for Musei Capitolini, for example, it will lead me to a page with links to its own webpage, its location on Google Maps, a short presentation on Youtube (in Italian), plus Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Pinterest pages relating to the monument. The links from the QR codes have been put together by the book publisher and I find them a very useful way to add to the info inside the guide.
