Ever since I finished the first book in this series I've been looking forward to book 2. As soon as it released I bought a copy and started reading it. Priestess Bound was just as good book 1, I think I even enjoyed it a bit more. There were quite some interesting developments and reveals in this book and I just wanted to keep reading and see how things would unfold. And I was sad when the story ended as I just want the next book now.

Ok now it's getting interesting. The shift in the book is that now we get other characters' voices in the chapters. It's no longer only written from the heroine's perspective. I could distinguish who was speaking easily. I have a pet peeve of authors too often making characters sound the same in the first person perspective. I didn't have to flip back to the start of the chapter to see whose head I was in- I could easily tell in this book. The world building continues to be strong. I don't like

There was so much intrigue and entertainment in this book. I enjoyed this book a lot more than I did the first one.
I liked getting to know Himiko, but the interaction with the emperor upset me. It was good that you could never tell what he waafeeling and how genuine it was.
I absolutely hate all the interaction with Abel. He was always so back and forth. The same can be said for Niko, but it made for pretty good entertainment.

Cannot wait for the next book!
I couldn't put it down. Read it every chance I got. I am not quite sure if the emperor really believes he is doing the right thing, or if he just wants the power under his control. I am on Phoebes side, and I am glad she has all her guardians finally together with her! I cannot wait for the next book to see what happens. ...more

Good book
I liked this book. Pheobe is coming into her own and it's nice to see. One thing that is annoying though is how the guys always make decisions for her. Yes she tries to put her foot down but she always goes along with what they want. In the next book in hoping she gets some power of her own and can stand up for herself without backing down. ...more

"I am never getting out of this fucking city!" - Sir Forrest
That's kind of how this book felt.
Sure, we got a bit more background on the whole priestess/opening the gates- thing, and we resolved a couple of other issues.
But this really felt like a filler book.
Still, it seems like the action will pick up again in the next one, so I'll be reading on in the series. ...more

Love it!
Forrest kind of gets on my nerves but I love Phoebe and all the other characters. Also I love how we're starting to learn even more of the history of the priestess. The author does a great job of showing how a history can be manipulated into something else, because the winners often tell the stories from their side. I can't wait to find out what happens next. ...more

Great reverse harem story
I really like this series! What I'm most impressed with is the individual growth of phoebe's guardians. They all have their own personalities and lives that they're dealing with. The plot is great too, and I like that the emperor and elders makes you question things. I can't wait for the next one. ...more

Lidiya Foxglove grew up on a steady diet of fairy tales, folklore and fantasy and also reads way too much manga. Fantasy romance is her favorite thing in the world, but she likes it steamy. She also loves cats and tea--it's cliche for a reason!
