I have so many feelings for this book that I’m not sure I’ll be able to express them all in the following lines! But, I will try! Last year, I read the first book in this series and I absolutely loved it! “Serenade” was like nothing I’ve read before in YA Contemporary fiction—sweet, dark, intense, cruel, and stereotype breaker.

But Nocturne…

Let’s just say, things are really starting to go in crescendo here. If you multiply Seren

Kaya, free from her father, is not on her own. She has Luke and part of his crew. Hiding out in a random motel, they think they’re safe but it proves much harder to disappear then to run away. Kaya must leave behind those she loves to keep them safe and truly disappear. Or so she thinks.

Nocturne starts off with a bang – right where Serenade left off. Kaya is still with Luke and all the problems revealed in book one are pressing down on her. She doesn’t just want to be normal anymore. She can’t h

Better than the first

Okay, I must say, this book is really good. I loved it even more than the first. The plot and subplots are very well put together, very well thought out and expressed in the story.

There was one consistent problem though. A lot of the contractions were used with an accent instead of an apostrophe. Also, some of the names used were not consistent with the character they were speaking of. For instance, when speaking of Sindra, Kaya uses the name “Rayna” instead. There were als

The characters keep me reading and wanting more of their lives, I loved being carried away and in another world far from my own.

The Plot Thickens for Kaya

Be sure you have read Serenade before you read this sequel or you will be lost. This is a good book: more evil doers and pain, but also new friendships and hope. Kaya meets new friends and joins back up with old ones. I will be reading the next book because I want to know what happens next.

I was thrilled when Heather reached out to me again to review an ARC edition of her latest novel in the Nightmusic Trilogy. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in her series, Serenade , and am thankful I have had the privilege of continuing to read and review the series.

Nocturne picks up right where it left off in Serenade so I would recommend starting with Serenade if you are interested in the series or you will not have a

The first book in this trilogy, Serenade was a pretty awesome and engaging read. Compared to that, the 2nd book felt slightly bland and repetitive. But I have to say one thing, the covers of this trilogy are really unique and beautiful!

Kaya is still on the run from her father who is only after her fortune. After an incident, she truly understands that she poses a threat to an
