Mountain Man's Baby Plan

Rate this book
Seven years ago, the mountain man broke my heart.
I've managed to stay away from him . . . until now.

When my first relationship fell apart, I picked up the shattered pieces of my heart and left my hometown, hoping college would help me forget about Eli.

Now that I’m back home, he looks even more gorgeous than I remember. His big, sculpted body and his dark, intense eyes remind me of the hot, stolen moments we used to share.

I try to avoid him, but nothing ever goes according to my plan.

My car breaks down miles away from town, right in front of his cabin. The cabin—the one filled with vivid memories of our secret rendezvous.

At least, the cabin is empty. And I’m cold, so I shed my wet clothes and sit by the fireplace. But just as I start to enjoy the crackling flame, the door bursts open. It's Eli.

As if that’s not bad enough, a sudden snow storm means we’re locked in here together. Just me, him . . . and the palpable chemistry between us.

Next thing I know, he's got his strong arms wrapped around me and he kisses me like a man starved. The way he grabs my waist as he yanks me flush to his sculpted chest . . . The enticing words he whispers in my ears . . . The way he completely dominates my body and soul . . .

I can't deny it. I want to submit. I want to give in to this bittersweet temptation. Even if there's no way this will last. Even if this will ruin me.

This is a standalone, full-length novel. No cheating, no cliffhanger, and a guaranteed happily ever after.

A couple of adults who acted like teenagers. Zero communication ruined this relationship, basically twice.

Loved it
At 18 and 25, Sophie and Eli were soulmate, with plans to move to the city when she graduated. Eil, broke up with her, breaking her heart. 7 years later Sophie is home, once again with a broken heart. A chance meeting with Eli, only makes things worse.
Eli can't believe his Sophie is back. He can't blame her for wanting nothing to do with him. What he did was out of love, and even though it broke both their hearts he knows he did the right thing.
A broken down car and a snow storm has Sophie seeking shelter in Eli's cabin. When Eli finds her there, the ghost of the past haunt them both. When Eli sees she is not unaffected by him, he takes a chance. Hoping for a second chance with the women he never stopped loving.
Sophie still loves Eli. They can't keep their hands off each other. When she learns why he broke up with her, she understands. She has a secret that she needs to tell him, one that she knows he will once again leave her for. She steals a little time pretending they can be together. Eli does everything he can to make her want to stay. In the end she runs. Eli is not giving up.
A bitter sweet, second chance, romantic drama. Loved Eli. Great 7 years later epilogue.
This book is set in the same world as most of her other books, and is easily read as a stand alone. Does deal with some heart breaking issues, that many women face.

More than just a mountain man.

When Sophia moves home after leaving her high powered job, she is not in the right headspace. Life choices up in the air, hoping being home with her parents will help add some cheer to her deary existence.

More curveballs come her way when car problems land her in front of the cabin of her ex Eli, the man who had broken her heart seven years ago by pushing her away.

No place else to go, a wintry mix falling from the sky, and no one available to get her, she takes shelter inside the cabin.

As her luck seems to be going, she finds herself face to face with Eli, a storm brewing outside with a whole other kind of storm brewing inside the cabin of her more formidable years.

Sophia is full of turmoil, Eli is a man who knows what he wants.

Will whats about to happen between two powerfully connected souls stay in that cabin?

Phew, Loved this storm brewing- powerfully connected souls hot romance!

Maddening, yet had me rooting for them both, so many times I found myself saying out loud, "oh for __ __  just tell him already whats the matter with you"?

Fast moving, free-flowing, yum fest of heartbreak to heart mend I  highly encourage checking this latest alpha swoon fest by Nikki Chase out!

I appreciated the epilogue it was an excellent HEA wrap for me! I felt like it tied everything together!

4.5 Stars!!!

I love when this author brings her A game as a story teller when it comes to her steamy romances. Sophie and Eli are both such tortured, broken souls and neither of them wants to chance the pain of the loss they experienced so long ago when Eli chased Sophie away from him and ultimately out of town. But, when a chance snowstorm brings them back together, the sparks fly, and decisions need to be made. Painful secrets are revealed, and whether they can weather the drama and the results of those secrets is on the line.

Conflict is a must in any romance because it builds the tension and keeps the reader invested in the story. Each time I pick up one of Ms Chase's books, I find a new and engaging story that pulls me in and makes me want to get to know these people. The issues she brings to her romances are things that involve everyday people and make us wonder what we would do in those same situations. Each is different from the one before, and her writing opens eyes and hearts. And let's face it...the soft BDSM adds another layer to the stories. She has built a world where we see past characters interact with new ones, and it takes us someplace we wouldn't mind visiting. I'm looking forward to what she has in mind next.

A read with secrets between the two characters, Eli & Sophia, and now seven years later it’s time for them to bare it all in more ways than one. Eli broke up with Sophia just before she left for college and broke her heart to pieces, now 7 years later she’s stranded in front of the cabin they shared steamy times so many times years ago. Eli kept something from her and now it’s time for the truth but now Sophia has a secret of her own...can they forgive each other ?
A great read with steamy scenes and I loved loved loved Eli, what a perfect book dominant hot alpha boyfriend. But that’s not what had my heart racing and falling for him even deeper, it’s what happened or didn’t happen during the 7 years apart from Sophia....swoon swoon swoon and thank you to the author for making him stand apart from all the other reads out there. I did get a bit frustrated with Sophia and how she kept putting off telling him her secret but I understood her POV but what I LOVED even more is what Eli does after she tells him...once again a swoon big sigh worthy moment. The ending was perfect for them and I really enjoyed the many years in the future the epilogue takes us.

Steamy and entertaining...3.5 stars!

My heart ached for Sophia. She’s dumped by her ex-fiance and leaves her job in the big city. Sophia is still reeling from the devastating news and decides coming home to visit her parents will help heal her soul. She never expected to cross paths with Eli, the one man she loved but broke her teenage heart.

Eli can’t believe he runs into Sophia. He never forgot Sophia, even though he broke her heart and sent her away seven long years ago. Sophia is the only woman he’s ever loved, and this time he’s not letting her go. Eli kept a secret, but it’s time for Sophia to learn the truth and trust in him again. Though the chemistry is as strong as ever, will Eli still want her once she shares the truth about her? Lots of mental anguish on Sophia’s part wondering if her love is enough for Eli.

Mountain Man’s Baby Plan is a nice second chance romance. Although entertaining, I don’t think the title really fits this story. Eli is not much of a mountain man and there is no plan, unless I missed something. Still, it was an enjoyable steamy story with a nice ending. This was a very good book. My only complaint is that the blurb that tells you about the book makes it seem like Sophia spends a lot of time trying to avoid Elijah before getting sick with him in the snow storm. I also knew right away what Sophia's "problem" that would make Elijah not want to be in a relationship with her, but that didn't detract from the book in any way. I love the characters in this, though Nicole acted SO much older than 7 years old and Sophia had to be tiny to fit in 7 year old Nicole's clothes. But I loved the characters ministry between all the characters and I loved the history. I usually don't like second chance love stories because of the flash back chapters that seem over romanticized and dramatized, but there were no flash back chapters. Instead the characters just talked about their past and how it effected them. I think the only thing I would add to this story would be a better explanation of how Angela made Sophia's high school years a living Hell. Other than that, this book was perfect. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary romances, especially second chance contemporary romances.

I fell in love with this book after just the first chapter...I just kept reading and before I knew it I was reading the last page of this book! I just felt that Eli and Sophia belonged with each other...they may not have realized it because they were so much younger the first time they were together but is was great reading how they began to realize it this second time around. Both thought the other did not want to be with the other and it was so much fun reading how they realized they were wrong! The chemistry between them is still there and as a result we have some steamy scenes between them! You need to read their story and you will fall in love with them just as I did. I enjoyed that this book was in both POV's, it was nice to read their thoughts and feelings throughout the book. Eli had me early on and I found myself routing for him in his quest to win Sophia over once again! I want to thank Nikki Chase for giving me the opportunity to read this book in advance of it's release.

This one story that you will feel heartbreak, frustration, attraction, love along with ups and downs! Seven years ago Eli and Sophia had a secret relationship and he pushes her away for the reasons unknown to her and she leaves for college with a whole in her heart. Now after Sophia has had more heartbreak she leaves the city to regroup at home and ends up seeing Eli and making a fool of herself. When Sophia breaks down she finds shelter in the one place that holds so many happy memories. Out of no where Eli shows up with a shotgun not knowing whose in his cabin. Will Sophia be able to stay away and say NO to Eli or will his alpha ways break her down? Both Eli and Sophia have secrets and insecurities along with fears that they don’t know if they should share. What will it take for Sophia to believe that Eli wants her as she is? I absolutely loved the epilogue in this story! This is a well written story that will keep you on your toes the entire story. MOUNTAIN MAN’S BABY PLAN

A captivating and intriguing read. The storyline drew me in from the beginning and I literally could not put this book down till it was finished. The story is about second chances and true love. I cannot fault this book at all, it flowed smoothly, a great story, a good ratio between storyline and sex scenes, and the characters were really sweet. Eli and Sophia were made for each other but due to certain circumstances they were pulled apart, but true love always finds a way to bring them back together. I loved Eli, a great guy and a selfless one as well. He gives up a lot, in more ways than one. Sophia left her home with a broken heart that could never really be mended, until the day she returns and fate intervenes. A really lovely story that I thoroughly enjoyed. I also loved the dual POV, which I prefer to just the one person POV. A copy was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book with my honest opinion.

Oh my word, what a brilliant story. Eli and Sophie are really soulmates and do truly love one another but for his own reasons, Eli ends the relationship. Sophie is devastated and moves away. How do you get over the one you have loved and in this case, they both feel the same. After 7 years, a long time, Sophie comes home and after her car breaking down in bad weather, Sophie takes refuge in Eli’s cabin. Now the fun begins.
Two people, fighting their feelings, emotions and chemistry realise they should never have parted. Problem is, they both have secrets. Eli has never denied how he feels and tells her his secret. Oh wow, he is so selfless, you just want to hug him but Sophie’s Secret is more heartbreaking. But as they say, the heart wants what the heart wants. Eli never gives up and he gives Sophie his undying love and faith in them again. A brilliant story I just loved.

SECOND CHANCE PASSIONATE ROMANCE
4.5 STARS

MOUNTAIN MAN'S BABY PLAN is a second chance at true love. Secrets and emotions linger in the air in this captivating story and fiery passionate sensuous romance steams up the pages.

Eli and Sophie were teenage sweethearts and then Eli broke it off. After seven years of being apart, the two meet again in their hometown where buried desires for each other come alive. Getting their happy ever after is quite a moving story.

LOVED this entertaining story as the characters definitely have chemistry and their romance is quite believable. I also enjoyed reading the backstories as they give insight into the character's lives. If you enjoy second chance romances this is definitely a great book for your library. I enjoyed reading this book so {I reviewed an advanced copy and without, reservations I recommend this read.}

Eli broke Sophia's heart seven years ago and now that she's home again, he intends to find some way to get her back. Eli and Sophia's backstory is a little vague, the exception being we know she had lots of sex with dominant Eli. His reason for breaking her heart seven years ago is understandable but not really excusable. Meanwhile, Sophia has a secret that she thinks means they can't be together, and even though it's not hard to figure out what it is, it took forever for it to be revealed, and her indecisiveness made this story seem a little drawn out. Still, Mountain Man's Baby Plan is an enjoyable story with some really good, hot steamy scenes. It's definitely worth a read.

This book is very intense! There are so many ups and downs in this story that it made my head spin at times. Reading this book is like riding a rollercoaster…
There were so many moments I gasped for air or wanted to scream in frustration…
On the other hand it is heartwarming and heartbreaking to read about Eli and Sophia’s emotions, their doubts and insecurities, and to guess what terrible problem of Sophia’s might be hidden behind all those tiny hints…

And when the truth is finally revealed – after a very slow and torturous build-up of tension - it is freeing and heartbreaking at the same time!

This is another page turner by Nikki Chase that you really MUST read!

Mountain man's baby plan

I enjoyed it enough. Sofia annoyed me a bit because she should've just told her secret. But she was too much in her own head. I want to be with him forever, I'm just enjoying this time we have left, I'm never going to leave him, just one more day and ask this will be over.

I hate when people are just too stubborn or ridiculous for their own good. I also freshly that there may have been a previous story? They spoke about"angela" and at first I didn't even know who they were talking about. And went on like she was a part of the story but she really wasnt. I was a bit confused about that.

With that said, I liked the HEA.

I thoroughly loved reading the extraordinary and awesome romance story. When Sophia's car breaks down in a snowstorm, she barely makes it up the mountain to her uncle's cabin. Sophia is rudely awakened by Eli, the handsome, sexy man who broke up with her years ago. While both of them are cooped up in a cabin, Sophia and Eli's feelings and chemistry ignite. Read the highly recommended, beautifully written, and a captivating love story riveting the reader from the first page until the last page of the story.

Well written story and plot. I would have liked more depth in the story and the characters. Communication is really a good thing, which these two main characters should have known. Their language and behavior sometimes is like two teens. The story had a lot of potential.

Emotional and loving story.

I like it has an epilogue to finish of the story in a better way. There is passion, a few hot scenes and lots of chemistry in this story.

This was just a little meh for me. It started out strong but then it got stupid real fast. I was NOT aware there was going to be this whole "submissive" vibe either. It gave the main guy more of a creep factor if I'm being honest. He was older than the main girl by like 5 years or more and they had this whole "submissive" relationship when she was barely legal. Ugh... I didn't like that at all.

I also knew what her big secret was going to be pretty quickly and needed her to just get there with it already!!!

If you like second chance romance then you will love Eli & Sophia’s story. Sophia comes back home and never thought she would see Eli again. Sparks fly just like they have when they were younger but secrets may ruin their forever. Eli & Sophia are sweet and there chemistry is off the charts. Really enjoyed this story and love seeing a cameo of Caine & Daisy.

Wow, the title does not really fit this story. If you really tried to make it fit, I guess you could, but it's a big big stretch. I otherwise really enjoyed the book. It was much better than I thought it would be. No offense to the author or anything, I just rarely encounter books like this that are this good. I do recommend it if you like well written, sweet second chance romances.

Sophia comes home after 7 years away, while she is out running errands her car breaks down and the snow starts falling. The good thing? There's a cabin nearby. The bad thing? It belongs to Eli, the man who broke her heart before she left. Now they are forced to wait out the storm together. Sparks still fly between them but can their secrets keep them apart? A pretty good book, sucked me in and was read pretty quickly.

Meh. Not awful but not great. I felt like the couples' reason for splitting up the first time was a little silly and they way they almost missed out on a second chance was even sillier. Would have been nice to get a little more back-story on what it was that Angela did to Sophia that caused such tension. Honestly, I ended up skipping a lot because I got a little bored so I guess it is entirely possible that the tension was explained but I missed it, lol!

Okay so when I read the blurb about this book I assumed it would either be really good or it would suck ass and I would stop reading halfway through it. Surprisingly it wasn't bad. I enjoyed how fucked up Sophie was. I think my only request would be that there was more communication between the characters. I feel like it was all about the sex, which don't get me wrong wasn't half bad lol but I needed just a little more, the characters seemed a little 2 dimensional. Overall it wasn't bad.

They were young lovers, he broke her heart, Her dream was to go to college and work in the city. She's back and while she achieved her dream, like most adults, she's had disappointments. He's been celibate for 7 years, still loves her and regrets some, not all, of his decisions. But they were both juvenile and not honest. I liked the writing, but didn't like their poor communication. Made them seem young and foolish. Also, I couldn't find the connection between the title and the story?

Mountain Man's Baby Plan is a good second chance romance. Eli and Sophia have great chemistry and I liked them together. Book is well written and the storyline is relatable. Plot has some drama, angst, sweetness, humor, heat and tenderness. An entertaining romance with lots of steam. I'm posting a voluntary review after reading an advance copy of this book.

I loved Eli and Sophia's second chance romance! Eli is no longer the man he was before. He's a rugged mountain man who knows what he wants, and look out, Sophia! When they get trapped in the same cabin together it gave Eli the perfect opportunity to reclaim what was his all along. I was into this book from the first page, and I loved everything about it!

The plot to this story was insubstantial, it is simply about Eli trying to win back Sophia.

As a second chance story it reads well, if somewhat predictably.

The characters are engaging and they both have detailed back stories.

The title is totally misleading.
