*5++ stars*

The Worst Best Man is, quite frankly, pure gold and I'm almost certain I hyperventilated from all the feels. Also, Lucy wrote an extended epilogue which is free on book funnel!

If you like "smart" romance (á la Penny Reid), a good laugh, and an all-around feel-good book, then this is a must-read.

This year I have been trying to read more new to me authors and it's really paid off. I've found a lot of new favorites and a lot of fun books. The Worst Best Man was my first book by Lucy Score and it was a lot of fun. I loved listening to the audio book.

Franchesca is the maid of honor at her best friend's wedding. She loves her best friend dearly, as well as the groom. The rest of the wedding party, though? They're pretty awful. Rich, vapid, and shallow. Everything Frankie is not

My 1st book by this author, and definitely not my last 😉

Different story, very different heroine (not a typical virginal wallflower they sell us in every 2nd romance) and surprisingly slightly different hero.

TBH I struggled a bit with the story till about 40%, the whole wedding/kidnapping plote was too messy. But after they found the groom and married their friends, came back home and started their 'game', I liked it a lot.

Very unlikable side characters 😖. All rich people were arrogant spoiled a$

Overall Opinion: Meh. I didn't love it and I didn't hate it either. It was alright for what it was, but to be completely honest I wasn't expecting a new favorite -- so there's that at least 🤷🏻‍♀️ The h ticked me off with her pushing away throughout the whole book, and the pacing seemed slow at times. A lot goes on in the book though! I kept on thinking that I misread or misinterpreted the page count on this and that it would end soon, and then it kept going. The ending felt lackluster to
Sometimes good things come in multiples. That also counts towards great books back to back. I remember seeing The Worst Best Man mentioned in our FB group on a rec post and downloaded it through KU, but didn’t really think about it anymore. Today, I picked it up and was immediately sucked in.

Lucy Score is a new to me author, but boy is she GOOD!!! She managed to balance the witty, snarky, and smart-mouthed characters I adore, with a story that was refreshingly different.

But honestly, it’s all ab

I saw someone on Twitter tweeting about this, that this was inspired by Pride and Prejudice, so I had to check it out because duh. Pride and Prejudice. Whether said person praised this or not is a different story.

So hmmmm. Where do I start?
The good part, I suppose.

Pru and Chip, for one. I'm sure they're the equivalent of the Jane Bennet and Charles Bingley in this Pride and Prejudice-inspired (no, I will not call it a modern-day Pride and Prejudice) novel. But they're the least annoyi

I tried. I really did. In fact, I picked it up again after abandoning it at 11%. Welp. Still didn't get any better for me.

I bought this book after it had been recommended in a few reading groups I was in on Facebook. I also read reviews touting this as a modern Pride & Prejudice. Also, people keep saying this was so funny.

I love P&P and I love funny books. Unfortunately, The Worst Best Man didn't live up to its promise.

I think the P&P comparison was misplaced. This was nothing like P&

I just can't even... I really don't know what to say. Definitely, not my cuppa! Too much silliness is happening, too much chaos and too many OTT characters. It's not my kind of humor, either. I only liked the bride & the groom (side characters). The other side characters are mostly awful. The hero and heroine didn't make much sense to me, either. There was some good banter between them, but I was unable to enjoy it without feeling the chemistry between the characters...

I dropped the book once, t

4.25 stars. I really love Lucy's characters. Aiden and Frankie are among my favorite couples. I just loved them. I had a hard time keeping my attention on them at the beginning of the book.
The first 25% was the destination wedding of Pru and Chip - their best friends. It took me a while to realize that it was on Barbados. Not much about the scenery. A LOT about the local color. IMO, it just didn't work. I would have liked Frankie and Aiden having a meet cute. Sparks flying THEN have the shenanig
I ended up enjoying this even though I didn't like the hero's past with OW- he came across as a slutty serial monogamist. There wasn't anything special for the heroine that he hadn't already done with his many exes. He met most of his exes parents, slept with the h in the same places he slept with the exes, etc. I loved the heroine- she was strong and smart! They did end up being a sweet couple and I did believe in his love for her.

I am so torn up about this book. I want to give it a 5 stars so bad but i settle with 4 stars. This is my first read by miss Score. I first intimidated by the length of the audio book. Its nearly 12 hours long.

To my surprise i do enjoy the story very much. Aiden and Francesca are 2 characters that so much in sync with each other. They fulfill each other perfectly. Aiden is burned up hero who has the weight of his family on his shoulder. Meanwhile Francesca is running the world becoming everybod

Oh, crap! Lost the whole review! I'm not doing this again so here goes the very truncated version: Stupid beginning but book got better as @Jan130 pointed out. Poorly behaved people who drank too much leading too little inhibitions. Judgmental, potty-mouthed heroine who takes and takes. Hero not a bad sort and good at giving. Lovely family interactions saved it from a worse rating
I loved this book!

Frankie and Aiden are GOALS people! Their chemistry, romance, and love was on fire. I'm so sad that this book is over right now. I already miss the crap out of them.

The Worst Best Man is about Frankie and Aiden, obviously.. since I already mentioned them. They meet at a wedding, where Frankie is the maid of honor for her best friend Pru's wedding. From this, she meets Aiden who is the best man for Chip. There are a bunch of spoiled rotten people in this wedding party, including

I would like to start off with the fact that there is not enough stars in this galaxy to rate The Worst Best Man so here you go 5 PLUS!!!  The Worst Best Man I think is some of Lucy Score's best work to date. She delivers everything you want in a romantic comedy and more. Every page had me hysterically laughing, swooning, getting pissed off with Frankie and getting all 50 shades in my panties! My first book by this author and it was a pretty satisfying one. She has a definite writing flair for this style of rom-com.
Frankie's sass and smart mouth was what I loved most about this book.
Though I appreciated the slapstick style of humor for Prue's wedding on the island, the second half of this book was my favorite.
Watching Aiden pursue Frankie and seeing how their relationship evolved was adorable.
Will be looking out for more books by Lucy Score for future reading. 💖💘💗

The Worst Best Man is a romantic comedy book filled with witty banter and funny comebacks. I guess I really loved the dialogue in this book. That beside really likable character is my favorite part of it all. I did notice that the first part of the book somewhere around 40 % and second are somewhat different in the pacing of the plot line. If not for the same leading characters it could be two different books.
Still, for my first Lucy Score's book, I am quite happy.

Again, I find my desire to be rich and famous waning. I don't want to be part of the 'in' crowd and have paparazzi surrounding me and judging my every move. It seems like a pretty lonely existence and it would be hard to know who your real friends are. In this story, most of the rich people are fake, self-centred, and egotistical. They treated people they considered beneath them horribly and expected money to solve their problems. It was all very una

DNF at 11% due to petty assholes (it’s in the blurb) and unlikable mains...and mainly ennui
Frankie from Brooklyn channels Stephanie Plum from Trenton with a potty mouth, take no prisoner’s ‘tude, but is less ambivalent feelings about her sexuality. Both Frankie and Aiden are hysterical together and are difficult to put down characters.

When they first meet, it’s at their respective best friends pre-wedding party, and it's not exactly love at first sight. Aiden says something rotten about Frankie which she overhears (implies she's a pole dancer), and since she is a no-holds barred heroi
This is my first book by this author. I kept seeing so many recommendations for it in the KU fb group and I thought I’d give it a go. It was really freaking good! Uh, Frankie is a true badass. I love strong female leads and boy was she ever one. She told it like it is and didn’t take crap from anyone, totally held her own. Aiden didn’t come off as all the great in the beginning, but he really grew on me. There was a lot going on in the book and it really entertained the heck outta me. So many fu ...more

DNF ~15%?

I even was in a mood for a ridiculous romance and plot (billionaire, insta-love, exotic locale, kidnapping... ) but could not go on with this book. My instinct told me to quit almost immediately: this is the second paragraph

The groomsmen, in their Armani and Brioni, were overgrown frat boys destined to spend their lives reliving their prep school glory days. Their trust funds were cushy enough to buy their way out of any real trouble.
The bridesmaids were worse. All working on landing

3.5 stars. An enjoyable CR. This one didn't start off so well, but it got better and ended up being quite satisfying. It begins with a high society wedding in Barbados, with some truly atrocious characters in the wedding party. As readers we were supposed to like the bride and groom, so why did they choose such AWFUL members of the wedding party? This was partly explained later, but I still found this a bit of a sticking point. But, the main problem with the first part of the book is that it was ...more

While The Worst Best Man may be placed in the “billionaire falls for working class girl” trope, there is nothing clichéd, tired, or ordinary about this story. The billionaire in question is not an entitled jerk—in fact, he’s a really nice guy with a plate full of family problems. The working girl possesses her own brand of sophistication (as well as an endearingly sassy attitude). It’s no surprise to anyone familiar with Lucy Score’s work that both the hero and heroine have well-developed senses ...more

Lucy Score is a new to me author, and this book really, really worked for me.

The characters were so great. I really loved Pru/Chip and OH MAN Frankie's brothers, Marco and Gio *heart eyes*.

Aiden and Frankie were fun to read about as this wasn't a typical 'millionaire throws lots of money at poor defenseless girl'. She balked every time he spent money, she made comparisons to Pretty Woman that had me cracking up, and Frankie was a downright ball buster. She had her flaws and that made her more

I feel like i’ve read 2 different books in one. The first one was about the wedding with the worst best man (still don’t agree with this title) and the second book with everything that followed after that wedding.
I thought i’ll drop it and mark it as “dfr”, because the first 30%-40% was like a bad rom-com movie. It made me laugh a couple of times, but most i had been rolling my eyes and saying “wtf” and “seriously” a million times.
But the other book was pretty great. I actually loved both main
