Why does something so wrong feel so right?
And would this mean, I lose my daughter forever?
I can’t let that happen!

Not bad

This book is about an older man who is widowed and lost his wife to cancer and he was devastated. His daughter had a best friend and she lost them when she was young. He was able to raise Vivian because he was good friends with her parents and thought it would be best for the two girls to have each other after their loss. After she get older and she is (of course) of legal age, things change between them and they start to fall for each other.

Not a bad story, but it was pretty boring for t

I just could not get into this story at all. I had issues with the fact that Boyce raised Vivian. If she would not have been raised by him I would have been okay with the story.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

ok, I kind of knew what to expect when I read the reviews but I have to say I still felt like reading it because i wanted to know how in the world this was going to happen.. I was grossed out at times, like when Boyce was imaging having sex with Vivian and she was underage..yuck, plus he raised her from the age of 10, she was like a daughter to him..Anyhoo I really can't understand why I did it..

This one is a forbidden taboo romance, it has a good story but I'm sorry it's not my favorite.
A step dad with step daughter romance, yeah I'm so sorry it's not for me.
The forbidden things just a bit too much for me, it makes me uncomfortable, it's just me, not the book, it's just not my thing, so it makes me hard to enjoy it. I wished I could tell and explain more without spoiling it. All I can say is that it's just a matter of preference and unfortunately I'm one of the people who can't really

Great plot and character development hooked me from the very first page and the chemistry between Vivian and Boyce kept me totally captivated until the turn of the very last page!

My Best Friend's Dad is a steamy older man/younger woman taboo romance. Book is a good blend of romance, drama and lots of emotional turmoil. I'm posting a voluntary, honest review after reading an advance copy of this book.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A solid four-star read for me.

I decided to explore taboo age-gap romance. It’s not something I was interested before and I didn’t know if I would like it because these kind of relationships seem very unconventional even in today’s society.

I’m glad that I read this book. I actually read a few of the books with the similar topic, and I think I liked this book the most. It wasn’t a short read which I liked, and the way this relationship was described felt very real to me.

The main characters

Unexpected Love

When Vivian was 10 years old, both her parents died in a tragic accident.  Fortunately for her, her best friend Bella's dad, Boyce, took her in so she could grow up with her best friend.  Boyce, has not had the easiest of lives as he was devastated when his wife died and it took years for him to get over it.  He is a hard-working man who adores his daughter and loves Vivian in a paternal way and cares for them both the very best that he can.  I did feel uncomfortable when I read

Vivian and Bella became fast friends when they were little which brought their parents together as friends also. When Vivian's parents died Boyce took her in and raised her with his own daughter Bella. As Vivian got older she looked at Boyce as more than a father figure but didn't think anything could come of it so she started dating older boys in her school. Boyce wasn't happy about this and sat her down to talk to her about it. Vivian kind of gives in and concentrates on her studies but she kn ...more

My Best Friend's Dad
by Bella Winters
Boyce was in limbo after the love of his life, Nora, died. All he he had left was their daughter, Bella. Vivian was lost when her parents died. All she had left was her BFF Bella, they were only ten. Boyce adopted Vivian and things took off from there. Viv mooned over Boyce since she was ten, and those feelings never went away. Boyce looked at her that way too, but not right away; they both knew it was wrong. And what about Bella? This is a rather tense, but s

I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy. This was a compelling older man-best friend’s dad/younger woman story.
Boyce is a widower just starting to get on with his life after his beloved wife’s death. He’s raising his daughter and working hard to provide a good life and bright future for her when his best friend and his wife are killed in an accident. He takes in their child Vivian, who is also his daughter’s best friend, and raises her. Years later, he starts to realize that he sees Viv

Closer to 3.5 stars...I am all for the whole best friend's dad trope, but this one felt skeevy in the beginning. Within the first couple off chapters you discover that as a tween, (10-11) Vivian starts crushing on Boyce, and at the same timeframe (when Boyce is 36ish) he admits to imagining it's Vivian while having sex with other women. When they do consummate things, she's just turned 18. If I ignored the whole skeeve factor in the beginning, it was a really go

Very well written story with great storyline and plot. Full of expanse and hotness. I like that the characters are relatable and likeable. I like the twists and the challenges the story has. I like the main characters and how they develop. I like that the characters take time. They really do not let themselves take apart but gives it time to see how it all develops. It is a bit quirky but because they are not related it is okay and I think it is a good theme to bring up and it is very well handl ...more

This is a different take on a story with an older man and his daughters best friend. Bella lost her mother early on and her best friend Vivian was there for her. A couple years later Vivian lost her parents in an accident with no family to take her her. Vivian and her father, Boyce have Vivian live with them from 10 years old. It was planned should anything happen Boyce would have custody of Vivian as he was best friends with her parents. Boyce was her father figure and only adult for many years ...more

Boyce is the single father of Vivian’s best friend Bella, having lost his wife, but he is also the man who took Vivian in after her parents died.

Knowing his attraction to Vivian is wrong and that he could very well lose his daughter if he was to act on his feelings, he tries to forget and hide them.

Vivian also has feelings for Boyce and both fighting their feelings can only lead to one thing!

The night before Vivian heads of to college, they both finally give in and their chemistry is off the cha

I was in the mood for something light and older man/ younger woman/taboo trope is one of my all time faves to read about. This one had high hopes but fell flat for me. I didn't connect with either character and didn't really buy into how they fell in love or developed feelings. Something was missing for me. The huge jumps in time was an issue too. I don't need to read about their daily activities but one minute she was 10 and the next she was a junior in high school then she started her senior y ...more

I am quite divided in my appreciation.
Boyce is a single dad since his wife died from cancer, and he takes care of is daughter (Bella), and her best friend Vivian since her parents died in a car accident. But when Vivian grows, Boyce and her are attracted and they feel really bad about this for years. They’re are really struggling it, then, they think it will be casual, but it's more complicated.
I liked that they take time and don’t rush into their relation from their attraction to acknowledgeme

This new book by Bella Winters is a hot older man younger woman romance that is about love that is forbidden but can’t help the hot chemistry that runs through them both.
We follow the lives of Boyce and Vivian who have been fighting there feels for each other cause they know it’s not right but can’t deny it any longer the night before Vivian heads of to college. Boyce is a hard working father that has spent lots of hours at work thinking he would never find love again but when he does he never

Vivian and Bella have been friends since they were in elementary school, their parents friends as well. When Vivian's parents are killed, she goes to live with Bella. Bella also has suffered a tragedy, as her mother has died. Her dad, Boyce, takes care of both girls with the help of his staff; but always tries to make special time for them. As Vivian matures, she begins to have feelings for Boyce that are not "parental" in nature. Boyce also starts to admire the beautiful young woman that Vivian ...more

She was best friends with his daughter Bella since grade school and when Bella’s mother died of cancer it was the three of them. Boyce worked by made time for the girls. As Vivian got older the two were getting attracted to each other but kept it to themselves. I stopped reading when Vivian was talking about Boyce with other women in the house. I do not want to read about main characters being with other people like that, especially after they've met the person they end up with. I also think it's disrespectful he do that with random women in the house he shared with his wife, and to do it when Vivian was there? That's horrible and disgusting. I don't care if he's eventually going to change. I wouldn't have minded if the stuff had happened before

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Wow! What a hot and steamy read with a touch of taboo. Viv is a young woman who lost her parents and ended up living with her best friend for the next ten years. Boyce was there for Viv when she needed someone to provide the stability she needed at the time. Now that they meet again and Viv is no longer the little girl he once knew but instead an adult who Royce begins to notice in a whole new light. Boyce is now single and having thoughts about Viv an ...more

What should I say about this one? I liked it for the most part. However, one thing sort of ruined the reading for me. It says in the beginning somewhere, i.e. in the first few chapters, that he adopted his best friends daughter. Well if you adopt someone, they become your legal child, not only like stepchildren. But they become just as much your kid as if it was your own flesh and blod. So this is actually a bit too twisted for general human relations. Had she only just lived with him - as if sh ...more

4.5 Stars! If you like winter and summer romances this is a good one with a bit of a twist. There is Vivian who's parents die tragically when she is young and her best friend's dad adopts her so that she can stay with his daughter. Then there is Boyce, the dad, whose wife died of cancer years ago and he is a single parent taking care of his daughter and now his daughter's friend. There is a connection between the two that is not of a father/daughter relationship. Will he act on it? Will they be ...more

I am a fan of this author. I have read several book by her and loved them. The story is well written and very detailed. But I couldn't connect with the characters this time. I think it was the time period being off and then the end was kind of an over view vs flowing scenes.
Overview. Boyce was a single dad and asking care of his daughter Bella and her best friend Vivian. Viviana's parents had an accident when she was 10 and Boyce took her in since her parents were his best friend

Whilst this was a good read, that was only possible if I blocked a certain aspect (Vivian’s age) which was somewhat key to the storyline. If you ignored that (which was possible as her character was very grown up and mature), then you could focus on the chemistry and their ability to heal each other from the losses in their lives... finding their soulmates. Unfortunately I couldn’t totally get over him being attracted to her in middle school, and in high school imagining her whilst in bed. Their ...more
