“All right, cutie, I’ve had enough. I’m getting the hell out of here now. Open this fucking cage.”

One of the reasons I love reading sci-fi is because with every book there is always the chance to explore a new world and a different culture even if the story is about us, humans. “Hers, Untamed” takes place in Silenia, a human colony on a planet far from earth created to mine ore and send it back to earth. The reason, though Silenia is the subject of this book is not because of its rare ore, b

I said it many times I am a fan of aliens. That said, when I saw this book, I thought it might be interesting to see how the author would pull the pet part and make it believable. Well, not only it was but I also had a few giggles reading how the alien 'pet' reacted to his new environment. Now let me be clear that I didn't find it okay to imprison someone and call it a pet but I could see how some civilizations could actually think it's ok.

The thing is while I knew it would be romance—the headl

I’m giving this story a rather tentative 3 stars. Here’s the thing: a lot of readers aren’t going to like this book. It’s firmly in the Erotic Fiction category—not romance as purported. There’s quite a bit of king, some taboo leanings, and there’s a lot of explicit sex. It’s going to be too much for some readers to handle, particularly if they go into the book expecting a romance. If those things don’t interest you, you’re going to want to move on.

That being said, I did have some gripes of my ow

This book was a lot of fun!
I picked it up when getting into a conversation with the author, thinking I could give it a chance as it was free and all. I'm not a big reader of romance, or erotica, so I was a little skeptical, but decided to read it when I needed something a little lighter than my current read.
And I'm so glad I did!

''Hers, Untamed'' was a lot of fun, both the story and the sex-part of it.
It's a sci-fi story, set on a mining planet where everyone are rather rich. Our protagonist

An erotic romance was rather a departure for me - I don't even tend to read much romance! But I thoroughly enjoyed this - while I expected lots of steamy scenes (of which there were plenty!), I hadn't expected the sci-fi elements to play through so well, and for there to be such interesting questions raised on how we define humanity.

For me personally, I'd have loved to see the world of Silenia explored a little further, and maybe some exploration of how they came to be such an insular world. But

This was a reversal of the usual plotline ie the male was bought as a pet. I liked the couples interactions (they do steam up the pages) and Alyssa's growing awareness of her pet's equality (granted it takes most of the book but hey, there is a hea).

The beginning of this book was almost painful in how the characters were presented as shallow and the society as simple. However, the rest of the story was quite enjoyable, with the princess showing some spine, and a fine HEA followed. The sex scenes were pretty good, if unimaginative.

So, just like my last Anna Adler read, I picked this book up without the intention of finishing it that night. Alas, that did not happen.

Alyssa lives on Silenia, a far and fictitious planet. On Silenia, it is common for the humans to keep alien species as pets. Often, the pets are bought with the intention of becoming a sexual partner/companion. While at a "pet shop", Alyssa is mesmerized by a human-alien hybrid that's kept in a different section because he's untrained and violent, thus, not for

An interesting si-fi erotica romance.

When Alyssa brings home her untamed pet (pet here meaning trained alien-human being) she is exited to see what challenges awaits her; she did all the research and is determined to be the best pet trainer around.

However, this particular being came to her untrained and with a rebellious side. Soon the two of them end up becoming more like a couple than the owner/pet relationship that society expects... and society does not like it.

A hot and romantic story, b

On paper, this seems like a book I wouldn't like at all: paranormal romance isn't my thing (I can't find non-human sex sexy) and, because it's clear from the off that Jax is not happy about being kept as a "pet", I thought I was going to have massive issues with consent. Any book with non-consensual sex dressed up as romance would be a DNF and in the bin for me.

But, as evidenced by the five stars, this wasn't a problem. The book was really all about consent (rather than consent issues being glos
Alyssa pays half a million credits for Jax, her new pet. Jax is the name she gave the human-alien hydrid fighting his captors when she went to look. But Jax is not a pet, nor the sex toy Alyssa wants him for. He will, however, play nicely to get what he wants, his freedom. Will Alyssa let him go??

At first, I didn't like this book. Mainly because of Alyssa herself. She is a spoilt brat, who thinks it's perfectly acceptable to keep a man in a cage, to walk him on a leash. But Alyssa is a product o

I received an ARC from the author and voluntarily decided to review.

Alyssa is finally ready to purchase a pet. Not just any pet, a pet for pleasure. No cat or dog will do. She wants more, she wants a companion, a lover. While browsing for her pet, she comes across an untamed. He is what she wants. Exotic, dangerous, sexy, and a hybrid - half human and half alien. Alyssa is warned that he isn't trained, she wants him anyhow and within days he is installed at her apartment.

This had to have been one of the strangest books I've ever The synopsis of the book totally caught my interest, but the actual storyline...strange doesn't begin to cover it. The whole idea of people owning other people was not a new concept, but treating them like glorified dogs...well that was totally new to me.

Seeing an alpha male like Jax caged up and being subjected to baths and leashes, that shit was not attractive at all, though I will admit his was an entertaining plight. His
A fascinating read where humans keep aliens and hybrids as pets. Essentially, these pets are treated the same as a person would treat any domestic dog or cat on earth that is “part of the family”, except for the fact that they are humanoid.
At the start of the book Alyssa comes across as a conceited, rich, spoilt brat. She lives on Silenia, and as with most of its locals, she wants a pet that she can use to stroll through the streets while others admire her. Alyssa decides on a hybrid, a newly a

Whilst this is is not my usual genre, every now and again, I do read the odd romance. What I like about Sci-fi are the use of different technology and different beings and this book was no different. What was different was the idea of a human owning a human hybrid as a pet, as this was where the fireworks happened. Alyssa was a wealthy thirty-something single female, all she wanted was to own her own pet. Jax was that pet, an exotic masculine being who had some talented uses for his reptilian to ...more

I found this book delightful. A romance between a spoiled human and her captive half-alien offers a lot of opportunities for conflict, and Anna Adler has made good use of them. The characters immediately became real to me, in all their flawed, conflicted glory, as did the way they interacted with each other. I couldn’t wait to see if they could resolve their vast differences.

The world of Silenia is alien, but it felt entirely believable even though most of it is shown by implication. Hers, Unta

This has to be the cutest and hottest m/f romance I've read in some time. The story begins when Allysa decides to buy a pet and ends up picking one who's untamed and possibly dangerous. Being an alien-human hybrid, Jax has a body that puts other pets to shame. Allysa really can't wait to show him off, but she has to get him to behave before she dares take him out in public. The captivity aspect with Allysa in charge of the vicious, unpredictable Jax is so hot and daring. Though Allysa is so swee ...more

Love it!

Spoiled rich smart human woman wants a pet but not just any pet - an alien pet. After reading, researching and prepping her home, Alyssa was ecstatic on getting her very own pet. She was shallow enough to bask in the admiration and adoration of others for her new acquisition. But she needed her pet first. Jax was captured bounty of a space ship battle loss. Tossed in a cage and tagged like an animal, Jax least expected to meet a beautiful human female. But escaping was goal number one. T

Beautiful story! I absolutely loved this. Reading the entire story in one afternoon was extremely easy. Having aspects of intergalactic adventure and a futuristic feel to it, there is heaps of hot sexiness in this story, intermingled with a sound story of learning how people should and shouldn't be treated, not matter how different they may seem. This is a book with explicit sexual content so would be aimed at an adult audience. There is no violence in it. Overall, I found this one great sexy ad ...more

Wow. This was exciting.

Five stars for a well crafted pet romance. The whole concept of owning another race is not new. I’ve read a lot of female pets, this was exciting because he was male. And of course it was fun to see the heroine slowly come to terms about her pet being an actual person.

So Silenia is a planet on which aliens are made into "pets." Somehow they are brainwashed and conditioned into human pets. Alyssa decides she wants one and goes to select a pet. She ends up purchasing an untrained "pet" and decides to "train" him herself. From there things get really interesting. Her pet, Jax, ends up teaching her a few things, too.

Wow! Heat pours off the pages!

What a book! Jax starts out as a "wild" untamed pet, but when he turns the tables on his owner, it gets hot as Hades!

If you are craving real men, with real emotions and strong urges to be "cavemen", you will absolutely love this book. My favorite part is when he picks her up, throws her over his shoulder, and struts out of a nightclub!

This book is soft porno but with a great story line! I was kept highly entertained while reading about this off world location. From how they reused mine shafts to how they get pets! What a pet is .. and how they are expected to behave.

Plus one pet that refuses to behave but to enslave his owner! It has all kinds of twists that just make you drool and wish where the owner!!

Not really my type of book

Alyssa is rich and self absorbed apparently. She buys a man and gives him a new name. I couldn't get it. Why somebody fall in love with someone so stupid?😲😲

Lovely story

This book is a little different from many of the other alien romances I’ve read, I can’t explain further or I will spoil it for other readers. Well worth a read.

My name is Anna, I'm an erotic romance author, and my goal in life is never to have another writer's block. I've been in love with action and futuristic stuff from an early age, whether it's in books, movies, or video games. More recently, I also developed a taste for steamy romances. The stories in my head contain these elements in different combinations and I look forward to putting them all on ...more
