Audio-book: Narrators – Lacy Laurel and Lorenzo Matthews

I could not imagine either of these characters with any other voice than the one these narrators provided. With all the emotions that flowed throughout this story, both Ms. Laurel and Mr. Matthews gave even greater depth of character to these two lost souls. Voices filled with angst, remorse, love and lust…these narrators hit it spot on.

Dean has suffered the worst loss a parent can imagine. A year later as he grieves that loss on the beach

Where There's Smoke is chalk full of heartbreak. There's no other word to describe it. You will hurt for the characters feeling each slice of their pain right along with them. Coopmans starts the book off with a bang that will you drag you in from the first page.

My favorite part of this story is the underlying theme of family. These rockers take care of their own in good and bad times.

Tatum and Dean's story is unique in the way they met. I found myself rooting for them their entire journey. Coo

I really enjoyed this book! Tatum is just awesome and poor troubled soul that Dean is, makes you fall in love with these two. Dean saves Tatum from drowning and she doesn't follow up with at thank you to Dean. She knows who he is and doesn't want him to think she is a fangirl. But, she is. So on their next encounter, Dean is playing at a club with his band and Tatum goes to see him. The chemistry between these two is explosive. The love scenes are hot and Dean is demanding, something that Tatum ...more

5 BEAUTIFUL RAW STARS!! I am loving this series and this book is by far is my favorite. Talk about feels! This story has it all, from heartache, love, hate, friendship and family. Beautifully written, raw and just perfect, describes Kathy Coopmans stories. I loved the story of Dean and Tatum both broken, but complete together. Fate is a tricky thing…

I loved this author’s Syndicate series – it is one of my all-time favourite Mafia series – so the opportunity to read this couldn’t be passed up! I knew it was book two but it said it was standalone – and it was. Dean and Tatum’s story was high on dramatic from the opening words and didn’t gear down at all.

“I miss living. I miss life.”

Tatum and Dean had met years ago in an accident of timing that proved life took away but it also gave back. Their introduction was bad timin

Where There's Smoke by Kathy Coopmans is full of heartbreak and regret, full of pain and sadness yet at the same time there is love and friendship, passion and healing. This is a story that is raw and gritty but it will hit you with the feels. Where Theres Smoke is the 2nd book in the Sweet Sin Series. Book one, The Right Direction tells Roamn and Jocelyns story. Every book can be read as a standalone. Dean and Tatum's story will have you grabbing tissues and feeling as if you are right there wi ...more

Dean and Tatum two people who have known heartache and betrayal meet when they were at a very low point in their lives. They meet again years later and if your like me a believer in fate they meet again at the right time in their lives.

I enjoyed the story but I’ll admit it took me awhile to connect with the characters and I’m not sure why.

Dean is a successful drummer who for the past six years has tried to shield his daughter from the truth about her brothers death. This part seemed off to me

This is one of those heavy emotional, rip your heart out series... Most of the characters have been through some deep heartbreaking stuff and have to fight to stay above water. Some do better at that than others. Dean Wagner and Tatum Fields are two that manage that feat with the love and support of each other.

Sweet baby Jesus... That cover... That hunk of a man... That hair... All of him... Jesus... I'm in love. And who wouldn't.?
I was so freaking happy to have a new book from this lady. I knew, from previous books that she was the bomb, so having a new chance to read another book left me not only happy but anxious.
Kathy Coopmans is a genius. Her books give us so many feelings and struggles that could tear our hearts out, but with a flick of one page and it would start to mend. Her writting is super

Dean is one amazing strong alpha man. Leila is one special loving strong person. Tatum is one strong amazing woman. Dean saved Tatum in more ways then one. Tatum gave Dean all the truths and strength he needed to heal. Could not put this book down. What an amazing love story. They make for one feisty complicated couple. They have an amazing instant connection. What a wonderful down to earth love story.

Where There’s Smoke by Kathy Coopmans is the second book in the Sweet Sin Series. This was a sweet, sexy and heartbreaking story that I fell in love with. Make sure you have some tissues next to you before you start reading this book.

Tatum Fields is the sweet chocolate shop owner and Dean Wagner is the dirty talking drummer. Both are each other’s knight in shining armor; Tatum is by Dean side while he works thru things that have been weighing him down for far too long and Dean is there for Tatum

You need to read this!

Oh my sweet baby jesus! This author has totally blown me away with this book! My heart was shredded within the first three pages, tears and tissue! I was pulled in from the very first page, Dean and Tatum's story gripped my heart and squeezed every emotion from me. They first meet each other at one of the darkest times for them both. Not realising they were a balm on each others souls. Leaving a last inpression on them both. Five years later it appears fate is done waiting

O! M! G! This woman can write the “FEELS”!!! I was gifted with a copy of Kathy Coopmans soon to be released Where There’s Smoke. I started this book yesterday and if not for work, I also would have finished it yesterday. I picked it back up on every break, and my meal time as well. I could not voluntarily put it down. I loved every emotional word. Weeellll, maybe not every word… “Sam”. That word brought up another strong emotion, HATE!!! Ladies, have your tissues ready, this is a VERY emotional ...more

WHERE THERE’S SMOKE is the second book in the Sweet Sin series. They each stand on their own, but I still wish I had read the first one. I’m insatiable that way!

In Chapter 1, Tatum was repeating her philosophy about chocolate and it was so Zen that I wanted it on a poster. Chocolate cures many things, kids… Chocolate makes people happy because it tastes good. Chocolate is a guilty pleasure … an aphrodisiac... It speaks love without saying a word… I only wish I could capture all of it to share wi
The Book Junkie Reads . . .
Dean Wagner was in no way you typical hot, sexy, rocker dude and yet at the same time he was typical of your hot, sexy, rocker dude with a family/friends that he loved and respected. His life was not easy. He was not given the charm of having it all and keeping all parts of his life whole and healthy. Tatum was a victim of life also. She had a fiance that was a jerk, leech, and worse. In a mater of hours she find that the man she thought she love did not love her or value her. He would not even ...more

I could recommended this book to everyone and that might not be enough, I loved this book more than any of her other books, maybe it's the whole two broken souls that come together as one, that there is love where you are not expecting it. When Dean and Tatum first meet it is not under the best conditions, they both not having the best of luck in the love department. Can these two lost souls be what they need for each other? the way that they found each other isn't the most ideal. Not wanting to ...more

Geeze I cant believe I waited sooo long to read Where There's Smoke!!! What the heck Tricia!??? lol Gahh I fell head over heals with Dean and Tatum!!

"The second she stepped into my life, she woke up the dead man inside of me. Made me realize what my subconscious mind knew all along. I couldn't fully let go of the past..."

But y'all, Tatum has a heart of gold, she has been through hell and back with her ex-husband and when she enters Deans life, they are sooo perfect for each other!!! They seem to

There is a really good story within this book, but I am just not a fan of the Author's writing style. I felt for me personally that there is too much internalization going on and mostly about the same thing over and over. I think I'd rather read a story, then be told a story and while this might not make sense to most, it is what keeps me engaged and not flipping through pages to get to the point.
The premise was really interesting and the couple, Dean & Tatum were hot together, when they wer

The Right Direction (Sweet Sin #1)

By now I know the unexpected is what I will get from this author with this one being no exception. Everyone wants to read a story that is sweet, shows where the characters came from, how they struggle and where they end up. Dean is a drummer and sexy as hell, he's confident and broken all at the same time. Amazing father and protects what he loves most, his band and his children. Tatum comes from a good upbringing and thought she was marrying the man of her dreams. When Dean and Tatums world collide its like a passion you don't see coming, hits you like a wrecking ball and crawls beneath the ...more

This book was so good! From the heartbreaking prologue to the heartwarming epilogue.
Dean broke my heart! He lived through something no father should ever have to. The death of a child! But it was the guilt and the secret he kept about that death that made him a sad man.
Enter Tatum she was just what he needed. I loved her she was strong for him when he needed it but had her own demons.
Together they battled those demons and it made for a great story. Trust was hard for them, hard to let someone i

Dean - with the past keeping him in a strangle hold, he's merely going through life and not really living. He has a huge heart and will protect those important to him no matter what the cost.
He's a take-charge kind of guy that not only rocks it on the stage but in bed as well!

Tatum Fields - what an intriguing profession! chocolate and sex toys, #ohmy
Death by chocolate and Dean - yes I'll have some of that!

Miles - sweet, troubled , tortured Miles

Kathy Coopmans has always managed to entertain me. Each one of her books has me happily reading along in a fog or in this case...smoke.

Where There's Smoke is a slow burn but the spark is electric. Each with a history that is heartbreaking, Dean and Tatum are stagnant. They aren't living; they are just existing. With family/ friends that make life full, they are just getting by. Until they meet again...

The smoke may get in your eyes while reading this story. I blame the smoke for my glossy red r
