This is a great book, for younger readers. I loved it just the same. Animal bonds that we can't even imagine. It would be nice to know that when things get hard for people or animals that they bond together for the good of all. Maybe we don't know enough hard ships these days that keep us cohesive.

This well-written story leads the reader through every danger, triumph and peril with amazing skill. It’s the sort of book early chapter book readers devour again and again because they love the characters and the feeling of hope they feel at the end. What a wonderful discovery!
