Kathleen
Janet Kitz died at the age of 89 in her home on May 10, 2019. She was an authority on the Halifax Explosion. She researched the explosion and interviewed a large number of the explosion survivors. This book is based on the personal accounts of a few, whose stories are woven into the historical and social background of children of the time.

A follow-up book to “Shattered City” by the same author – a very easy to read book that I completed in a day. I personally believed this event important enough to read a tad further as to the lives affected by the explosion on 6 December 1917.
