I really love this book, I read it a few times a year and have recommended it to many people. When I have a bad day this is the perfect book to read to remind yourself the world is bigger than your small problems and there are plenty of people who would benefit more from your energy than moping in the lounge room.
I think there are a lot of practical suggestions in this book and a few 'bigger goal' suggestions that would be great for a church or school or work group to attempt.
I'm a big Tony Campolo fan and I like his straight forward approach to life, the church and to get his message across.

Mostly an idea book, Campolo and Aeschliman provide activities that activist can participate in, organized around areas like immigration, the elderly and the environment. If you are already leaning towards activism, this book with provide great avenues of expression. If you are still trying to understand the roots of our various social woes, this book will not bring you any closer.

It was not as insightful as I was hoping. The passages used to support WHY we should work hard at certain social justices did not seem very strong. The ideas for where and how to help were good. The small group discussions were ok.

This one was pretty good for resources. It pretty much addressed things I already knew about each issue, but it did show the reader how to take action.
