This book would bore many readers, though the author's style is relatively engaging considering it is a non-fiction environmental text about weather, insects, rainfall and snowfall averages, geographical features, etc. However, I found it very useful! The appendixes, charts, and lists of flora, fauna, soils, etc. are clear and have helped me, as a gardener and nature-watcher, to understand my region better.

Skeptical of the "environmental and economic benefit" sentiment at the end of the book but a really informative and necessary text nonetheless.
