Kelly’s back.
How can two simple words make Dylan Bronstad’s heart ache and sing at the same time?
Even seven years ago, Kelly Anne Leeson had possessed that power. Back then, all Dylan wanted to do was drink and make love to her. Really, it was no wonder she’d climbed out of his bed and walked out of his life, leaving him with nothing but a nasty hangover and the lonely

This has in no way influenced my voluntary review, which is honest and unbiased *I expected to fall head over heels in love with Helping Her Remember - as I'm a huge fan of second chance romances. While I didn't completely succumb to its charm, I did enjoy this story, the setting, and the characters.

Helping Her Remember by Kate Carley
Crawford Falls #1

Friends to lovers, second chance romance and secret baby tropes are part and parcel of this first book in a new series. Kelly heads home with her 6 year old son after being away for 7 or so years. She moves in with her mother, worries about seeing her old gang of friends and begins a job at an old folks’ home. Soon after she arrives her old boyfriend shows up wanting to pick up where they left off. She is a bit leery but still has feelings so

3,5* and here's why:

I've finished this book and I’m sitting here trying to decide if I fricking loved it or hated it. The story itself has everything I love in a second chance romance. Young love that got »destroyed« and the several years later gets a chance to learn and fix what was wrong with it.

Dylan and Kelly were difficult characters to get to love. They both have flaws and are not perfect. My main problem with second chance romances is that I always feel a bit frustrated because I feel

I am drawn to second-chance romances like a moth to a flame. Really. I can’t stay away from them. Throw in a secret child, and I’m a goner!

Dylan and Kelly Anne met as teenagers in the small town of Crawford Falls, Minnesota. Each harbored a secret crush on the other all through high school, and finally acted on their feelings during Christmas break of Kelly Anne’s senior year in college. But things went wrong between them, and faced with serious concerns about Dylan’s drinking, Kelly left town

Kelly Anne Leeson is back in town, which is something that Dylan Bronstad is totally unprepared for. However, once he gets over the initial shock, he finds himself determined to win her back. Yet, Kelly doesn't know whether she can trust him, not after the reason she left town in the first place. But when secrets come to light as they begin to rekindle their relationship, will this pair be able to forgive each other, or will they lose their second chance at happy ever after?

Dylan looked at his friends- Lacey, Hawk, Bryann, Grady, Talia and his best friend Jesse. They all watched his reaction upon learning Kelly had moved back home. Dylan went over and helped Kelly Anne empty her U-Haul and met her son AJ. He didn’t know A J was also his son. Seven long years Kelly Anne had been gone and she had been Dylan’s only love. Dylan still loved her. Dylan was determined to get her back. Dylan never knew that Kally had seen him with the other naked girl and heard him also ...more

Internalised misogyny is alive and well

Where do I even start with this review? For a small-town second chance romance with a secret baby, this book managed to annoy me in ways I can’t properly articulate

On the positive side, it handled dementia and aged care with tact and grace. There are some really nice relationships between family and friends, even if their friend group is threatening to get messy.

Here’s the thing: the baby was a secret because the father was a) a cheater and b) an alcoholic.

This is a story of pain, miscommunication, lust, sorrows, lost times, friendships, joy, laughter, family, and a future. Yet, none of it can happen until Kelly Anne Leeson and Dylan Andrew Bronstad can walk through their past.
Almost seven years ago Kelly packed up, kit and kaboodle, and was gone. That New Years Day had been the line in the sand. Where she could no longer watch the man, she loves slowly and painfully kill himself and twist the knife on her too. As the hateful words, he spoke

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

Wow, not even sure where to start as this romance was filled with lots of drama, some heartache, and every emotion! It had me reading through most of the night and was really hard to put down.

I can certainly understand why Kelly would not want Dylan in their son's life when he was clearly an alcoholic, and they weren't even in the same state after she left. What I didn't understand was why she didn't tell Dylan sooner because really, if AJ and Dylan

If you loved Kate Carley’s Changing Krysset series, hang on to your seats because she’s back! Kate introduces us to a new northern locale in the Crawford Falls series. This reader is ready to pack a bag and head to Minnesota just to see the scenery, but it would be a thrill to get to Crawford Falls and bump into the hunky guys who live there.

Helping Her Remember introduces the reader to Crawford Falls, as well as a group of friends every woman will want to call her own. The friends—a group of

Ummm...Hmmm... I liked this story, but I didn't love it. I do enjoy a good second chance story. This is one that I thought was cute. I wasn't overly enraptured with the characters and/or the story itself. But, I can say that it was interesting enough to keep me reading. Well, I do enjoy "second chance" stories.

Helping Her Remember is an emotional journey of young love that was betrayed and hurt. But, has time help heal these

I am a big sucker for second-chance romance books. Love the idea of a boy and a girl being in love, falling apart and then fate brings them back together. For this reason, I was intrigued by the storyline - boy and girl are in love, girl leaves town and returns home 7 years later with a 6 year old child. But that was about where my fascination ended.

Kelly Anne returns home as a single mom to her small town with her child. Dylan stayed in the small town all this time - a former alcoholic who has

Helping Her Remember is the first book in a new series set in the fictional town of Crawford Falls. In the foreword, the author stated that this series will start with the Bronstad siblings. Dylan has a large group of friends and after reading about them, I hope they get their own stories. This one is Dylan and Kelly's story.

I did ultimately enjoy the book. It has one of my favorite tropes but it also has one of my least favorite tropes. I love second chance stories, but I really don't enjoy

Helping Her Remember is a tale of forgiveness wrapped up in a steamy package. Betrayal cuts deep, but the spark’s still there, and where there’s a spark, there’s hope.

I enjoyed Kelly and Dylan’s romance, particularly because it doesn’t come easy for them. I also dug their troupe of friends and am looking forward to seeing which of them will get their own books.

Dylan’s father and his challenges brought some heart into the story and also threw some monkey wrenches into the works. And of course,

Second chance stories are my jam. I live for them, and they are my most favorite trope in contemporary romance. Needless to say, I was stoked to give this one a shot - it sets up a series, kind of a small town feel… but the secrets people keep threaten to destroy the lives they have created for themselves.

Dylan had completely become a new person since the last time Kelly saw him, and while Kelly was right to hold to her boundaries, he was proving left and right to be trustworthy; and her

Seven years ago Kelly left town suddenly and with no explanation to her friends or her boyfriend Dylan and his addiction to alcohol was only one of the reasons. She has returned home for a job offer but she is not alone as she has a six year old son that the father, Dylan, doesn’t know about.

Dylan has never forgotten Kelly. Through the help of family and friends he has been sober for the last four years. The pull to be near hear is stronger than the knowledge that he should stay away as he knows

Received a copy via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.....,

First let me be honest that i did not really like how the main character Kelly is very wishy washy with her emotions constantly going back and forth.

The book is about kelly who had her heart broken by the live of her life Dylan and she ran away on New years and stayed away for 7 years.
This is the story of her coming home to find the love of her life and all her friends that she left behind. Except coming home is extremely hard

Helping Her Remember is the first book in Kate Carley’s new series Crawford Falls. I’ve read other books by Kate and this one is a little different because it isn’t romantic suspense but it has the same great writing style. The plot is thoughtful and the love story is emotional with a couple steamy scenes in between. She has set up the potential for several other stories from Crawford Falls and I look forward to reading them in the future.
I would recommend this to anyone interested in a small

How can two simple words make Dylan Bronstad’s heart ache and sing at the same time?
Kelly Anne Leeson once possessed that power. In those days long ago Dylan only wanted to drink and make love to her. I was a surprise she got out of his bed and walked out of his life.
Today, Dylan’s life is on track, he is sober with the support for family and friends, Kelly is back and she could derail all that he has accomplished, but the man can't stay away from her.

This is the first book I read that was written by Kate Carley. It was the title and the blurb that prompted me to request an arc of the book. These led me to believe that it would be about second chances.

When I started reading, there were two questions that I quickly asked myself. Both questions were soon clearly answered.

I found some parts of the book to be predictable. Because of this, I considered a rating of four.

Once I finished the book, I realized that not only is this book about second

I loved this book. Dylan and Kelly were sweethearts 7 years ago, but due to Dylan's heavy drinking, she did not tell him she was pregnant with his child. She left town, but when she returned when AJ was 6, Dylan found out right before she had planned to tell him. There were quite a few misunderstandings, but eventually love won the day. Dylan had to learn to be a father and Kelly had to learn to trust him. This was a well written book about 2nd

Great Story! The tender moments were endless. Helping Her Remember is a story about overcoming demons that haunt you. It's about forgiveness and second chances.

Kelly Anne thought she would never return to her hometown. She had left without a word to her friends or boyfriend, Dylan. A great job opportunity came up and she couldn't turn it down. She knew everyone would wonder why she left. Kelly Anne had more than one reason to leave. One of them was Dylan's drinking. Kelly Anne returned with her

After spending more than a dozen years home schooling her four children, Kate is off and running in a new direction—writing romance novels. It all started out as a mere addiction to reading novels and then morphed into a drive to write one. One became two, and then three, and then four.

Her debut series, Changing Krysset, includes Challenged and Consumed, both released in 2016, and Chased,
