Second of the John Flynn thrillers I've read. I have to say that while I enjoy Stewart's writing in the Miami Jones series, the Flynn series just seems to be choppy. It doesn't flow in the same way that MJ series does. Then there's the fact that it's a continuing story, not just a continuing character. The final line in the book should have been "To be continued", instead of "He'd keep marching until he found a reason to stop." It was like leaving the supper table half full.

Oh, well. Other read

I read the first volume in the series and loved it so much that I gave it five stars! I immediately started reading this, the second book, and discovered that much of the plot followed right along behind the first book. In fact, I wouldn't recommend reading this one alone - read the first volume first. I liked this one almost as much, but by now the characters, style, pace were more familiar so I was expecting it to be good - and it was. Great action and a sympathetic protagonist with a few flaw ...more

Well-plotted, excellent twisting

Had trouble putting this book down. John Flynn is a far-above average protagonist with a complicated back story that crafts his now decisions. I've stated before that Stewart is a writer to read and enjoy. Interesting especially since Flynn is the other end of the spectrum from the more fun Miami Jones. I'll be reading more... Eagerly.

A good holiday read

I enjoyed the book very much, but not quite as much as the Miami Jones series - hence only four stars. However, I would still recommend it to Jones fans and I will certainly read the next in the series when published

American John Flynn

This story explains another part of Jon Flynn's life. How he feels with issues and how people close to him see him.

John Flynn at his best

So glad to have decided to read this book. Great characters, moved well, just enough intrigue. Organized chaos..
One of the better I have read this year.

This was a terrible book. I slogged my way through because I previously enjoyed the Miami Jones series.
This book had far too much useless diversions into useless information.
