Castles, Pink taxis, and Scotland... oh my! This book was a genre smorgasbord... and the best kind of smorgasbord at that.... with a dash of history... a dose of romance... a splash of mystery... and a dollop of the paranormal... oh and I cannot forget a side of laughter.... The perfect blend of genres all wrapped up in a pretty pink package...

This is an adorable book. It has absolutely everything in it; romance, ghosts, history, thugs bringing drama and family ties and relationships. I love what I call ‘kitchen sink’ books where the author throws just about everything into a story but there’s always a danger that all the strands won’t tie up. Thankfully with Little Pink Taxi this doesn’t happen. Everything pulls together delightfully.

I loved Rosalie, she’s a bundle of energy and like her namesake all heart often running her company a

It isn't difficult to take this book to your heart from the first few pages of this fabulous romantic comedy! Rosalie Heart is the kind of character that is so easy to love and her Taxi firm 'Love Taxis' are a godsend to the community where she lives. And what's not to love about a bright pink taxi ferrying you from A to B?!

Those who aren't from the community find the Taxis a little odd, and that is exactly what Marc Petersen fails to connect with as he finds himself in the area. He is there to

Take a girl who loves pink, add a cold businessman, some ghosts and a thug and you end up with a story full of love, friendship, suspense and intrigues. I loved it from the first letter until the last full stop. It's a fluently wirtten story and I could hardly put it down. I know I ask it often, but is there any chance we can have a sequel, please?
Rosalie and her mother arrived at Raventhorn Castle when she was a child, and it’s the only place she’s ever known. Wanting to make some money and help out the residents in this little corner, she started a taxi business – ferrying residents to appointments, grocers , toddler meetings and elsewhere: allowing everyone to feel connected. Additionally, she’s part of a small group that does ‘wellness checks’ for residents, particularly the elderly and any tourists that may be in holiday lets away fr ...more

Oh, my word! What an incredible read, I absolutely love this book. I have recently re-discovered contemporary again and this is by far one of the best I’ve read. I literally devoured this, from page one I couldn’t put it down. I just needed to know what happened next. Laval has become a firm favourite author of mine, every book is journey you never know where it’s going to take you, with her mixed blend of romance, intrigue and that ever present Gaelic allure. This is my first contemporary by La ...more

The cover shows all the key elements of the story. A castle (Raventhorn), the pink taxi, a raven and a forest. The subtitel really triggered me. How will a ghost play cupid? So i started reading, really excited about the love story being connected to a serieus story but with a ghost twist.
Marie Laval creates honest characters. You can really meet the persons (or perhaps you already have) in your life. Marie decided to u

I didn't enjoy this book as much as I expected to having read so many good reviews. It was an ok read for me but not one that held my attention as much as I wanted it to.

Who wouldn’t be intrigued about a book with a pink car on the front?! I have to say that it was that car that made me want to read the book (I don’t read blurbs!). I have to say that at first, my opinion did echo Marc Peterson’s. I wasn’t sure whether Rosalie was a gimmick or not, however as the storyline progressed, I found myself warming to Rosalie’s life super quickly. Gone were my thoughts about the book being a gim

I'm a complete sucker for romances set in Scotland and have read quite a few of Ms Le Val’s - contemporary and otherwise. I have found them all to be well researched and enjoyable. Little Pink Taxi is no exception. Any reader would be drawn in by the gorgeous cover and once she starts turning the pages won’t be disappointed: a frosty businessman (just waiting to be thawed out of his block of ice); an impulsive heroine who happens to drive pink taxi and whose business is in danger of going under; ...more

Now it’s a bit of a giveaway but anyone who know’s me will understand my utter delight at the thought of a little pink car. Who wouldn’t want something so striking in their favourite colour!? This little beauty doubles up as a Taxi, running crucial errands for folk in the backwaters of Scotland.

Rosalie is proud to be the Taxi owner and recognises her worth to all the customers she ferries around, to go shopping or to medical appointments etc.

On one of her pick-ups from the local airport she meet

I loved this book set in Scotland which has mystery, intrigue and love. Marc Petersen has arrived in Scotland following the purchase of Rosalie’s home Ravensthorne Castle by his recently deceased Dad. His timing follows a series of mysterious events which have led to hospitalisation of the man that Rosalie sees as a Father Figure.
Rosalie owns the little pink taxi and is at the heart of the community barely scraping a living because she does the job for the love of the community. With the sale of

While the adorable cover and title give an obvious clue about what to expect within the narrative, I discovered Little Pink Taxi goes above and beyond what I expected within the pages.

The gentleman Rosalie Heart collects from the airport to drive to Raventhorn is a mystery. He's tall with a French accent and has come to visit Geoff who unfortunately isn't available to greet his guest. It doesn't take long to discover Marc Petersen now owns the only real home she's ever had, along with the taxi c

Rosalind drives her little pink taxi- Love Taxi in a small village with a close knit community in the Scottish highlands, She has lived at Raventhorn for so long she is almost part of the family. She is part of the community and the taxi serves one and all in helping those who can’t get around on their own- for many it is a lifeline in every sense of the word. When she picks up a mysterious man from the airport, life is about to change - for all the wrong reasons and even the little pink taxi is ...more

I love the cover of this book and the blurb really intrigued me, I love visiting Scotland and adore books set there so I hoped it was going to be a hit with me!

Well I am delighted to be able to say that I loved the story, it was well written and I loved Marc and Rosalie, their interaction was spot on and it really helped the plot I think and gave it an added edge, it is not just another romance book. I loved the setting and it was a lovely story for me to

If you’re in any way put off by this book’s pinkness, set that aside straight away – I often have a similar aversion (“little” in a title sometimes affects me that way too), but I’m so very glad I didn’t let it put me off this one. This is a wonderfully told story, and Rosalie will capture your heart as soon as you meet her, driving her pink taxi, rubbish at running a business but providing a lifeline to the community of eccentric characters living around the Scottish village of Irlwick, while s ...more

I can't put it down! Throw in some mystery into romance and I'm sold. The Raventhorne give this story a prefect gloomy background. So does the surrounding. The event leading to the plot twist, the very plot twist, until the ending makes a very enjoyable reading. I wish Isobel would show herself more other than the blinking of electricity, but I guess it's to make the ghost mysterious enough. Thumbs up for the writer for this unique romance.

Little Pink Taxi is an engaging story. I hated to turn off my kindle and go to sleep because I kept wanting to know more about these well-developed characters. Everything I like is in this book--mystery, romance, ghosts, setting, humor all wrapped up in a very satisfying ending. Ms Laval took her time to end the story rather than some writers who seem to be too tired to continue and abruptly end the novel. I think readers will fall in love with Rosalie Heart and cheer her on to develop the relat ...more

I wanted to read this story because the short summary said it was about Scotland. And that’s exactly where I am heading in August. I liked how the writer described the Scottish landscape and really felt like I was there. There was also a mention of ghosts in the summary. I do not like that kind of stories but I am glad I decided to read this book. The ghosts were just a little part of the story.

This is the debut novel with Choc Lit for Ms Laval – I can’t wait for another one!

Rosalie runs her Love Taxis firm in the Scottish Highlands, from an old castle where she has lived and been brought up for as long as she can remember. It is not at all a profitable business, but provides a much needed social service for the surrounding countryside. Although not going particularly smoothly anyway, things go from bad to worse when her mentor, the owner of Raventhorn, has a bad car accident, and whi

Taxi business owner Rosalie enjoys helping her Scottish community (even if she isn't making any money), until Marc Peterson shows up and threatens to take it all away. Marc, a successful businessman himself, finds his softer side with Rosalie. They need to band together to save not just their businesses but their lives as well.

I LOVED this novel!! It was sweet, funny, mysterious (with a few ghosts thrown in for good measure), and romantic. I highly recommend to anyone who likes these three elem

Whilst mainly set in snowy rural Scotland the story encompasses international business, rural issues, ancient legends, the modern criminal underworld and revelations that have the hero and heroine re-evaluating their perceptions of themselves and other people around them. All of this is seamlessly woven into an exciting story that is hard to put down. I think Danish/French heroes may be my new favourite!
