Lady Evina Maclean has heard much about Rory Buchanan's skill as a healer. What she hasn't heard is how good the brawny Highlander looks bathing in a waterfall. But Evina can't afford the distraction, for her ailing father urgently needs

I absolutely love this series by Lyndsay Sands! If you have ever read one of her books then you know how she integrates humour into her romances! I love knowing that I am going to have many laughs while enjoying the situations the main characters get themselves into! Not only are there a ton of chuckles, there are plenty of blazing hot moments as well! Seeing as our hero is a sexy Highlander in a kilt... you can’t go wrong with this historical romance!

Pulling the plug on this; time of DNF: 20%

I get that this was trying to be a comedy of errors with a side of slapstick, but it's just not working for me. Kidnapping...the wrong person, naked and dangling from horse, falling off horse, boils on arse, tripping and falling on top of lady you found sleeping on floor outside the sickroom door, destruction of personal property of someone who helped you, and it continues.

Another solid entry in a fun, campy series that is a personal fav. Conran & Evi were a good match, and I always like seeing the Buchanan gang get back together. Mistaken for his healing brother, Rory, Conran is "kidnapped" by Lady Evina to help heal her father who has taken to his sick bed. Conran has picked up quite a bit about healing from his brother Rory so when tasked with healing Evina's father, he steps up to the plate. But he is unsure of Evina's intention and doesn't let anyone know they have the wrong man...until his family shows up and he finds himself betrothed to Evina.

Someone also tries to kill Evina and with the Buchanan's all showing up,

4 stars!! 😍 Loved it! This was so much better than the previous 2 books in this series. Evina and Conran had amazing chemistry and although the story had the usual ups and downs of a Lynsay Sands book, things were not that obvious and the villain was a surprise. It was also nice to note that the h was not a pushover and the H had to put in some serious time and effort to woo her.
Highly recommended 👍. Can't wait to read what's next in this series.. 😁

I’ve been reading this series off and on, but I couldn’t resist this synopsis.

I loved Evina and Conran. They’re both stubborn and the button pushing is amusing. I loved how they talked and got to know each other, even if it was a bit backward. Of course, the entire cast of family appeared and I had no idea who some of them were, but I’m okay with that.

Plot wise, I never really settled into the evil thread. I was more wrapped up in the relationship, so I may have skimmed some of those parts. I

I have had so much fun with this family here and I each book is guaranteed to keep you on your toes. Now I admit, first off, the cover here that Avon did is wonderful and so sexy, I love a naked man under a waterfall. But honestly, there is something so endearing about this series and you are always guaranteed a page-turner and a charming love story whenever you pick up Lynsay Sands.

The Wrong Highlander is a story that begins with Conran Buchanan, who has been assisting his brother Ronan with ga

Was an okay read but was never really able to get into it fully. It felt like the MCs didn’t have much development and I didn’t bond much with any of them. I had little investment in the relationship and even less in the characters.

I think I enjoy this series more and more with each new book. Each book is witty and humorous while still being tense, exciting and romantic. The writing, as always, is excellent and the story is tightly plotted and well executed. I love the main characters as well as the re-appearances of the large and boisterous Buchanan family. You can read this book as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend the rest of the series – otherwi

Lynsay Sands is simply a fabulous writer and proves it yet again in THE WRONG HIGHLANDER. The only people I love more then her are the Buchanan brothers. There are a LOT of them and I sleep easily at night knowing there are more of thrilling and hilarious stories to come.

Lynsay Sands is not shy to throw the main characters into some pretty dangerous situations, whether it be poisonings, arrows flying everywhere, and murderous relatives. In THE WRONG HIGHLANDER we get all that, plus a reunion wi

Evina "Evi" Mclean is desperate, her father is dying and she needs the best healer in the highlands, Rory Buchanan to come and tend him. She didn't plan on kidnapping him, but when she and her men find him bathing in the waterfall, there isn't time for niceties - she sends her cousin Gavin to bring him to her, but when a fight breaks out and she intervenes, "Rory" ends up unconscious and almost drowns. Evi doesn't have time to wait for him to wake, so they tie him to his horse and are off.

Exposition Central, Platform Repetition. Totally lacking in humour, the usual balm to the empty calories of a Sand’s attempt at highland romance.

Also that first quote on quote sex scene came out of nowhere, was (literally) on top of a presumably dying man, and was so unasked for by the female involved as to qualify as assault.

Then there was the male basically slut shaming her in his thoughts after His unasked for advances on a dazed woman waking up from sleep being randomly moved and held by a

This one was just okay. As with all of LS's Highland books, if you've read one you've pretty much read them all because they're basically the same story over and over. In other books of the series I've still enjoyed the stories even though they were repetitive because I made a good connection with the characters. Evi and Conran's relationship just felt very tame and boring.

The Wrong Highlander by Lynsay Sands is book Seven in the Highland Brides. This is the story of Conran Buchanan and Evina Maclean. I have read the other books (and Loved them!) in this series but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so.

Have you ever really liked a book but at the same time, not been sure what to say about it?

That's where I find myself with this book.

I loved the character, I really liked the story...but there was something missing for me. And I'm not even sure what that something was.

Like I said, I loved the characters. One of the things I love about historical romances is the woman are usually strong women. They're almost ahead of their time. Evina aka Evie, was no exception. She ruled her dad's estate, trai

I gave it a shot but I'm just not a fan of the highlander trope. They always come across a bit too brutish to me. I'd take a regency drawing room over a thrush covered chamber any day. The hero and heroine were genuinely sexy and not annoying. The "threat" was pretty obvious to figure out too but man is his family big. Waaaay too many couples showing up to keep straight as I've not read the prior books in the series. Still, if you like a Scottish laird setting you could do worse.

I think that this was my first Lynsay Sands books that was just "meh". It felt like the plot was just recycled from her various other Scottish books. I felt nothing for the character's and the mystery seemed to be pulled from nowhere. I do admit that I felt the 'bad guy' was someone else, but even for this book that would have been too obvious and this book was filled with the 'obvious'.

I would save my time and money and simply re-read one of the more enjoyable books like the ones that were firs

Jumping into a series on book seven is always a risk. Luckily, THE WRONG HIGHLANDER stands alone well and I enjoyed this book about Evina and Conran. Evi is desperate to save her ailing father, so she goes to request (force) Rory Buchanan, a famed healer, to cure him. Through a series of classic Sands hijinks, Evi ends up kidnapping Rory’s brother Conran.

The Pros: This book is fun and lighthearted. Evi is honest and blunt to a fault which leads to some interesting group conversations that had me

Readers can’t go wrong with this deliciously rich and captivating historical romance where a Lady goes in search of a healer and kidnaps the wrong Highlander. Evina and Conran are strong, vivid characters that easily ensnare readers with their story which is sweet, compelling and full of delight. Overall Response

I reread Lynsay Sands' Highlander Brides series last summer as part of a re-reading project, and it was an interesting experience. There were some highs and lows, but generally, it's an okay series as long as you're familiar with her work.

I was worried when I realized that she was releasing another book about a Buchanan brother -- there are like a thousand of them, and they're all the same. I couldn't have told you their names be

Conran maybe a highlander but he's the wrong highlander. Lady Evina Maclean had other plans. Rory was her target but she got herself Conran. That was not a bad thing at all.

Highland Brides #7, Lynsay Sands is a great author in whatever she writes and her books are fun to read; at one point the Buchanan brothers were standing around joking that the same stuff keeps happening to them that it's always money or madness that goes after them. Her women are strong willed and in this case with Evina MacLean, who has lead the family and the clan ever since her mother died and her father distanced himself from everything and even trains the younger soldiers, she's

The Highland Brides is one of my favorite historical romance series, and I always get excited when a new one is coming out. The Buchanan brood is so fun and boisterous, with sassy and relatable women that find themselves in dangerous situations more often than not. The Wrong Highlander is no exception, and follows the same light-hearted suspense format of the previous books.

I picked up this book while moving, so I'd have something light and fun to read on a very long train ride. This turned out to be the perfect book for vacation reading.

Evina need a healer and thinks she's kidnapped the very best, Rory Buchanan. What she's gotten instead is the man who will heal her own broken places, and become the Laird of her heart. Conran Buchanan is the perfectly hunky hero, and a nice guy to boot. Known for helping out anyone in need, he pitches in to assist with her ailing
