Let me say upfront that I adore this book. I love when a special book crosses my desk to review and I can feel in my heart that it is going to be winner. This is one of those books. It is funny and witty and kids will just eat it up. It is formatted in board book fashion so wee ones will be able to handle it well and use it often.

This mission of toilet training is done in true military style. The army sergeant drills the trainees giving them the proper protocol to get the job done right. The diaper-clad soldiers respond to his directions with a snap of their heels and a smart salute. By obeying orders they achieve success. They must locate the target: the toilet, deploy the payload: pee and poo, destroy the evidence: flush, and then make a clean getaway: wash hand thoroughly, leave no germ behind. Mission accomplished!

The sergeant cautions them that the war is not over yet. They will have to fight to keep their pants from being soiled but soon...

"Every stinking one of you will be a full-fledged, underwear -wearing, POO-TENENT!"

Shock (oh oh I pooed/peed myself)... to Aweeee!!!! ( I must relieve myself) and Victory!!!! ( I won the battle my underwear is still clean!!!).

The author has included a fun sticker chart at the end of the book so little ones can plot their progress starting as a Private, then Specialist, Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Colonel and finally the highest rank of General. Hurray!!! Look mom and dad I answered the CALL OF DOODIE!!! I won the war. I highly recommend this delightful book.

Easy and funny illustrated book for kids to show them how to use the bathroom, or the toilet to be more specific. Done with humor, like it is an army mission, it may catches some kids attention more then other but it's well made. There is also kind of a chart at the end where you can mark underwear (starting at private and all the way up to general) when your child does a day without accident. I though it was a cool idea!

Should we be regimented in our potty training regiment? Perhaps. This board book takes a funny slant to teaching kids about their doodie. It's also one of the few to mention washing your hands!

A fun 'board book' for kids...an original concept(?), fun attempt/look at toilet training! Great, colored illustrations that adults can certainly appreciate.....& I bet little kids would really get a kick out of too! This book brought a smile to my face, right from the start, at the cover ...& the smile continued all the way thru the book! It'd be so much fun to read this to my little nieces! I bet that even 'all ready potty trained' kids would have fun reading it! I like the little chart at the end! What a fun book!
I received an e-ARC of this book from NetGalley, free, & only in return for my own fair & honest review.

This is a very humorous book illustrating the potty steps via "military" style training. The pictures support the text and are as funny as the storyline. While I wouldn't recommend it for toddlers that you start to train, it would work well for older, reluctant potty training children though it may appeal to boys more than girls. If you just want a potty book to make you laugh or you have an older child who is just learning or needs reinforcement, this may be a good choice. Our potty trained four year old thought it was hysterical.

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The title of this book caught my eye. What a fun way to teach kids about potty training. It's often such a battle, that any humor can help the process. The pictures and text was fun. I think it's a great addition to any house that is beginning the battle of the potty!

This is cute and definitely an original take on the potty training book. I can see parents enjoying reading this one, though I do wonder if some of the language might go over the heads of the intended audience. I do appreciate an orignal take, though.

This was the inspiration for the potty themed Storytime this week. It did not go over as I thought it would! It did not keep the kiddos engaged and the parents didn't even respond very strongly.
Super cute and funny, though! And fun for ME to read!

Not that there's anything wrong with this, but I feel it's written more for the parents' sake than a child's. Most children of potty training age won't understand the military humor.
