Stop standing still. Start standing out.

Whether in school, factories, or corporate offices, people are in a mad rush to the middle, going about their business and fitting in. The problem is, while you may feel as if you’re doing your own thing, you’re not—you’re doing what’s expected of you. To stand out, take whatever you think is normal, and do the exact opposite.

The author of this book lays out his ideas about business and life. It’s all about having fun and doing what you can to stand out in the world. Cole’s idea is to do crazy things to draw attention and to build a fan following. It works. While the Sand Gnats never sold out, the Savannah Bananas sold out the stadium their first three years. This book is part business manual and part memoir. We learn about Cole’s life, which is almost like a novel (I know of several novels where someone hoped to pl ...more

I absolutely loved this book. Jesse tells his story and shares his philosophy about standing out from the crowd. Along the way he offers questions and prompts for you to to think on and create plans for yourself. Though I'm an educator, this book was relevant well to my own work with students, staff, and families.

Jesse is AMAZING! What he has done is Savannah is truly phenomenal. The book is great-an easy read but also gives you great assistance in whatever you are doing in your life! His enthusiasm for finding his way, his uneasiness with complacency make for an truly exciting reading experience!

Just read the book. It will make you think about what you do at work and outside of work and how can you do it differently. Who are your “Fans First”?

The Savannah Bananas and Gastonia Grizzlies are not your ordinary baseball team - or your ordinary circus. As someone who currently works in sports, Jesse Cole brings a new level of different - one that has been proven to be successful. Great read for anyone in any industry because it challenges you to focus less on your business and your success and more about giving to your customer (or ideally, making customers into fans).
