All the ingredients for a sweet romance have been carefully mixed into this story to bring a sweet read for a hungry reader. I guess if I wanted to really make this look more like a recipe, I should have put measurements of each "ingredient" included. Lol. I figured I'd mix (no pun intended) things up with my revi

Sometimes I live in a fictional world and I love discovering new places. I want to move to Pine Valley, because not only does the setting sound fantastic, but there are good, solid people who live there. The cover exudes a comforting feel and the story wrapped its arms around me in a warm hug. This is the life, people.

Alicia has big issues with her hoarding mother, but she is such a sweet daughter. Alicia is loyal and someone who I want to be friends with. Jeff, her best friend from growing up,

I'm so excited for a new contemporary series from this author! I love books set in small towns and tight-knit communities. Alycia thinks the whole neighborhood is against her mother and is struggling to help keep the hoarding under control- but a feeling of helplessness really comes across in her emotions. An unexpected reunion with Jeff shifts not only her own social life, but her mother's as well. I loved the deeper themes of the cleansing power of forgiveness and the importance of friendship. ...more

Sweet story of second chances and loving hearts!

It’s a relatively fast read. It’s told in third person but alternates views of Alicia and Jeff. The characters are giving and neither has any major flaws. They are just like two real people you would see any day that have a lot of give and take in their lives. They are both service oriented and cute to watch them rekindle past feelings quickly and move forward with their life.

They both no how to apologize! When you read it you will know what I mea

I loved it. A great romance with some family issues thrown in. With a history of a broken heart it was a fun read. I loved the characters, even the hoarder mom turned out to be all right in the end. I loved their history and working through it all. I adored him and his patience and knowing what he wanted.

It really was just a sweet, small town love story and I didn’t want to put it down once I started reading. And right now reading three books that I am thoroughly enjoying makes it hard to choos

Alicia's heart was broken by her best friend, Jeff. In a moment of misjudgment, he lost what he valued most. Years later, Alicia finds herself back in her hometown to help her struggling mother. The problem with small towns is that eventually you are bound to run into each other.

"Worth the Risk" is a contemporary romance that has a great story. The chemistry and friendship is strong between Jeff and Alicia, but there is a lot of history and hurt feelings. The story centers on Jeff trying to make
Alicia left home after high school to attend college, got a degree in marketing, found a job she enjoyed and didn't really go home the past 10 years except for a few visits. She "temporarily" left her job to move back home to Pine Valley to help take care of her mom, a hoarder who hadn't left the house in a couple of months, and now works as a hostess at the Alpine Lodge restaurant. She works at night so she can be home with her mom during the day. One night at work she sees Jeff Finch, a guy sh ...more

I knew I wanted to read this one as soon as I saw the cover! So pretty! The synopsis also sounded good and I'm always a sucker for a second chance love story.

I really enjoyed this one and I'm looking forward to reading the next two books in the series. Alicia is a likable heroine, really goes above and beyond to help her sick mom. Gives up her dreams and moves back home, despite how her mom treats her and the unhealthy environment. Jeff was also really likable, he made mistakes, but learned fro

I really love that Heather B. Moore is writing a contemporary romance series. She is such a versatile writer and I love how she can always surprise me with a new genre.

I have to say first that I really love this cover. I love it's simplicity and the pretty pop of color.

What is it about second chance at first love stories? I'm such a sucker for them. I was rooting for Alicia and Jeff from the very beginning and hoping they would find a way to reconnect on the level they needed to succeed. Jeff i

Worth the Risk is another fun book by Heather B Moore and, also, part of her Pine Valley series. This time a reader gets to dive into Jeff and Alicia‘s story. It is such a cute and delightful story. Jeff and Alicia has great chemistry, making for a sweet and clean romance.
I give gift Worth the Risk five stars.
I received this book from the author, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

Sweet Romance
Worth the Risk is a sweet romance. Alicia and Jeff were best friends in high school, but they had a falling out and hadn’t seen each other for the past 10 years. I felt that the renewal of their friendship was believable and realistic. Their love story had twists and turns and real life problems that were believable and helped to draw in the reader. It was easy to identify with the enjoyable plot and well rounded characters.

I loved this book! I read well into the night last night because I could not put it down! I enjoy a good second chance story which made this story appealing right off the bat. I liked both the characters and how their friendship built and their chemistry. This is a second chance story but part of their conflict was due to the turmoil the heroine was going through with family issues. It felt very real and emotional and I could relate to the characters even though I haven't experienced all of the ...more

This was cute and clean. I can’t actually think of anything that was wrong with it, per se, but Heather has other books that I like better. I think this one didn’t measure up to the humor/wit in some of the others nor the dreaminess of the historical romance. Or maybe it’s just me and you’ll really love this! Contemporary isn’t really my favorite unless it literally makes me LOL like Elle Lothlorian’s Frog Prince.

Worth the Risk is a sweet romance and I loved Jeff and Alicia’s story. All of the characters are well written. I was happy with the progression of each character. Especially Mrs. Waters. Jeff’s mom was a fun addition to the story. I enjoyed the POV changes between Jeff and Alicia, it really helped move the story along at an enjoyable pace. I really loved Jeff and Alicia together and the work it took to get them together was rewarding.

Really cute story and such a good start to a series.

I liked how repentant Jeff was of his past behavior and how hard he tried to be a good friend to Alicia.

A quick, light read, even though it deals with some heavy subjects.

Highly recommend.

I received a copy which did not influence my opinion.

-‘“I’m a lucky man, and I’m glad you decided I was worth the risk.”-‘

I really liked this new, contemporary story by Heather Moore. I felt it was well-written and the characters were engaging. Swoon kisses abound. Clean romance with no sex and no swearing. My kind of read!

I really enjoyed Heather B. Moore's new book. There is a lot of history between Alicia and Jeff. Best friends, betrayal, forgiveness and secret crushes. But can there also be true love? Or will the past be too much to overcome. This is a clean romance.

Excellent start to a new series. Different in that the mom is a hoarder. But an old high school romance revisited is always a good story.

Thanks to the author for sharing the book.

Perfect! This was the perfect love story. I loved their chemistry, their struggles and how they learned to work through them. This was a really sweet, clean romance that I couldn't put down.

Romance, clean
This was a cute fall-again romance. Alicia and Jeff's past mistakes and history come back to the forefront of their lives as they meet each other again at Alicia's place of employment. They both have complications in their lives. This was more of a 3.5 for me as a reader, a difficult read since it was so hard to read about the hoarding (have a close family member who has this illness), and this was the second book that I have read in the past few months with hoarding as a back stor
Worth the Risk, book one in Heather B. Moore’s Pine Valley series, is a sweet contemporary romance novel that readers will love. It’s about overcoming mistakes in relationships, including family and romantic. It has a focus on these family and friend turned romantic relationships and how to forgive and makeup and make them stronger. Moore brings to life the character of her story in a fun and engaging way, keeping the attention of her readers throughout the story. Readers will easily fall in lov ...more

I love second chance stories. Jeff Finch blew it 10 years ago when he humiliated his best friend, Alicia, at their senior prom. Alicia hasn't talked to him since then, but now they're both back in Pine Valley. He is a successful realtor; she is working as a hostess at the Pine Lodge and trying to keep her mentally ill mother from getting worse.

There's definitely chemistry between them - even all these years later - but can there be trust after all they have been through in the past? And will lov

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A cute contemporary romance, "Work the Risk" is an unusual story because the conflict forms mostly around the mom's hang ups as they affect the daughter, and as such the hero is that much cooler. Also the romance is based in part on a friendship that started years ago, and finally gets a second chance at blooming. While some things happen off screen, and Alicia's freak out at one point will have a reader face palming, the story was

This was a great book. The pacing was good. I never felt like the story line ever dragged. The characters were well developed. The romance between Jeff and Alicia was well developed and felt real. I am a sucker for best friend romances. The story left me curious about Alicia's friend Gwen and her boss Seth and Jeff's friend Grant and his new girlfriend. Will these couples be in the other two books? I will have to read them and find out.

This story is book 1 to a new series called "Pine Valley" and is off to a great start! I really enjoyed reading this steady pace, clean romance book. Alicia was a great character and I liked her interactions with others-strong but kind.

Readers get a glimpse into the life of living with a hoarder and how an addiction like that can affect others emotionally and physically. This book was a prefect example of how sometimes friends and outside help can be the exact thing that person needs to get hel

I love wonderful clean romances like this one. It wasn’t without some tense moments and misunderstandings, which makes the good parts all the more satisfying. When Jeff knew his feelings for Alicia had never subsided since high school 10 years ago he knew he needed to make things right with her again. When Alicia saw Jeff at the restaurant where she worked, her feelings for him were reignited. This is a great feel good kind of story that needs to be read curled up on the couch with a nice soft b ...more

Alicia Water has her hands full with her hostess job at Alpine Lodge. One terrible night broke her heart and their friendship. “Now wasn’t the time to feel sorry for herself and regret all the things she’s given up to move back home.” She hadn’t see realtor Jeff Finch “face to face in more than ten years.” “She thought she’d put the past behind her, but the hurt was back, and the sharp pain of embarrassment and rejection knotted her stomach.” She has a mountain of “trust issues” to climb. “Jeff ...more
