“Murder Gone Missing” by Lida Sideris, is book two in the “Southern California Mystery” series, but a new reader can enjoy this book without having read the previous book. The author provides quick background comments in the context of the storyline to fill in anything needed from the previous book.

The first person narrative opens with simple night of Corrie Locke breaking into her mom’s house to borrow a few clothes. Then suddenly someone else, Michael, is there as well. Michael is tripping

This was a riot to read! Corrie Locke has just become a lawyer and she has sworn off P.I. work. Then her friend Michael, finds his mean bully boss stabbed in the back. Michael and his boss had a big fight earlier that day, and he just knows the cops will blame him. He also 'messed with the crime scene a bit'. He call Corrie who is sweet on Micheal to help him. Corrie isn't the most graceful swan in the water so to speak. She and Michael go back to the crime scene, and the body is missing and so ...more

Murder Gone Missing: A Southern California Mystery by Lida Sideris is the newest addition to this series. What a fun and twisty mystery.

Corrie is a lawyer in the entertainment industry by day and a private investigator when coerced into it by friends or friends of her father. She is accident prone which leads to some truly funny situations as this time she is on the hunt for a missing dead body. Most of the action revolves around a small LA college campus where Michael works. With several

Fog crept around the hilly street, clasping hands with the darkness.

This second sentence in the book should have been a warning to me. That was creepy, so was

I stood over him until time paused in the hush of the room and

I […] stepped outside and came face-to-face with the morning.

There was some serious prose in this book, and that’s only the first couple of chapters.

This book felt like a Stephanie Plum rewrite down to the two good looking male protagonists making eyes for the undecided female

Murder Gone Missing by Lida Sideris is the 2nd book in the Corrie Locke mysteries series, and another great book. I loved her 1st book Murder and Other Unnatural Disasters, and I loved this one too. Corrie Locke is an attorney who works for a movie studio. When her best friend Michael calls and tell her, he just found his mean boss dead, she rushes to help him. When they get there the body is gone. Not only is this book laugh out loud funny, it has a great mystery also. There are twists and ...more

This is the second adventure of the entertainment lawyer Corrie Locke who learned a thing or two from her dead father, a famous PI. Corrie is trying to just be an attorney, but friends keep needing her help in the PI department. When it is best friend Michael Parrish who asks for her help, she abandons raiding her mother's closet to help him. It seems he was demoted at the university where he works from co-associate dean to junior dean. His anger was so palatable that he wrote a venimus letter ...more

MURDER GONE MISSING: A Southern California Mystery by Lida Sideris is the second book in the Corrie Locke series. It can definitely be read as a standalone book. It’s a story of murder, mystery and showing that friendship knows no bounds.

Corrie Locke has recently passed the bar and has become a lawyer in the entertainment industry with hopes of moving up in her career. Doing PI work – again - is furthest thing she intends to do. That is until her best friend, Michael, who she has found she had

Lida Sideris has written a clever and funny story to entertain fans of light-hearted mysteries. My personal rating is 3.7/5. What I liked best:
1. This is a witty, fast-paced book with enough unexpected twists to keep the reader engaged.
2. The author paints descriptions with an artistic flair, and a hint of crime noir satire. Passages like “Fog crept around the hilly street, clasping hands with the darkness” abound. Better yet, she does it deftly enough that they don’t slow the story down.
3. The

Fast paced, madcap and wacky are some of the first words I would use to describe this series by Lida Sideris. You don't have to read the first book in the series to know what is going on, but once you get to the end you know you want to be up to speed.
Corrie Locke has a law degree but wanted a career that was safe and secure. Her father was a P.I. and while she enjoying following him around, being on the fringe of his investigations... OK, to be honest she likes the weaponry and sneaking around.

What a delightful, witty, and funny mystery!

Corrie Locke has newly become an attorney and has decided to take a break from PI work even though she loves it. However, that break doesn’t last long when her best friend, Michael, comes to her in trouble. He found his boss dead, but that isn’t all. He had an argument with him earlier, and he “might” have tampered with the evidence. So, the two go back and are completely surprised when his body is gone! The place is spotless, and this begins a

Where to start? From page one this is an interesting read. And then for awhile it gets a little crazy/silly and then things settle down and Murder Gone Missing turns into a page turner.
When Corrie's best friend Michael stumbles onto his bosses dead body after he's written a letter to resign from his university position he runs to Corrie for help.
But, they go back to the scene of the crime to get the letter and find there is no body.
What's up? Corrie promises Michael who she is secretly in

What a fun and engaging read this is. Murder Gone Missing by Lida Sideris has a contemporary feel with charm provided by Corrie's mom who thinks food and fashion can solve any problem. Corrie, Michael, James, Veena, Corrie's mom, and the entire list of suspects at the college are worth getting to know. As expected, Corrie' life is a little messed up: she's having romance issues; she's as different from her mom as day is to night, ensuring that her mother simply doesn't understand why she can't ...more

ARC/Cozy Mystery: I want to thank NetGalley for letting me have a copy of this book in lieu of an honest review. This is book two in the Corrie series.

I really enjoyed this book and finished it in two sittings. I did feel the book may have been about 30 pages too long. At one point Corrie says she is ready to wrap up the case and I was thinking I was too, but I still had 30% to go. The character of Corrie is likable and so were her two men, but, to me, the characters of Michael and James were

This is an enjoyable, fast-paced cosy mystery. Corrie makes for a very likeable heroine in that she’s not perfect at what she does, but she always gives things her best shot and, above all, she’s a loyal friend. Her friend Michael finds himself in a tricky situation, and so Corrie does what she can to prove his innocence.
The author is very good at creating atmosphere. When Corrie was investigating the crime scene, I was on tenterhooks, thinking she’d be discovered at any moment! There’s lot

Corrie Locke just keeps getting involved in a murder. So why is Murder Gone Missing? The body has disappeared. That leads to some interesting and fun developments as a large cast of characters arrive on the scene. This is part serious and part slap stick as Corrie and crew try to find out who did what and where the body went. Lots of red herrings and lots of twists and turns. See if you can find the clues and solve the mystery before Corrie and friends. This is book two but worked as a stand ...more

This was a fun read. It is the second in the series, but the first I have read. The mystery had plenty of surprises. The characters were varied and a lot of fun. I giggled as I read, rolled my eyes a couple of times, and did not want to stop reading. I recommend this read.

I received a copy of this ARC through Goddessfish Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.

A convoluted weekend going from an office of the missing dead guy to the sub-basement. Clever clues and conjecture. Ongoing cliff-hanger and a will there or won't there be a romance. A dog and a pig play minor roles. Kept me guessing until the end. Some fun surprises along the way.

I love a good mystery, especially one that has witty characters and this one is a lot of fun. I am sold on any book that has a female lead that is not only smart but has a great sense of humor. There were enough twists and turns to keep me guessing and that’s what any good mystery should do.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Backlit PR for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. First time reading this author. I really enjoyed the book. It made me laugh, the plot was convoluted and intriguing. Corrie's ideas were wild and fun!! I can't believe she broke into her mom's house instead of just using her key. A fun read. I think most mystery readers will enjoy this book.

Murder Gone Missing is the second book in the Corrie Locke series but can be read as a standalone.
Corrie's best friend Michael has been demoted from his do-dean position. When he goes back to the dean's office to confront him he finds him stabbed in his office.
When he and Corrie go back to retrieve Michael's letter of resignation they find that the body is gone.
Then ADA James gets involved. Corrie is trying to find out what happened and save her friend. Things are getting very heated between

I couldn't really connect with any of the characters so it feel a little flat and felt drawn out to me.

There are some funny moments and antics with a bit of bumbling around trying to solve this mystery. Not a bad read, but you might have to be in just the right mood.
