As always my reviews are based off of my true and honest opinion and I do my best to keep all reviews spoiler free.

Charli Goodwin has returned to Honeysuckle Hollow. Her home, and sanctuary to all magic creatures. Here you will find vampires, werewolves, witches, and more. It's good to be home. Till Charli finds her Uncle Tipper dead. Due to Charli's powers of finding

Started out good but by the end I was kind of bored. I also guessed the killer (30 Pages in)as soon as they were introduced. But there were lots of paranormal creatures throughout this book you name a paranormal or magical creatures this book had it from unicorns to Goblins to fairies to the shapeshifters and shape shifting werewolves this book had it so if you're looking for a various cast of Supernatural a magical creatures this could be for you.

This book started out so like the other fantasy cozy mysteries I have read, I wondered if some editor or publisher was curating them to make sure they fit the formula. But it diverged soon enough.

This story spent more time on the magic than the mystery. Very few leads were followed. Very few people were interviewed. No one ever really obtained any data from the few things they did investigate. The final solution was actually mentioned early in the story and if the protagonist had

I really enjoyed this southern take on modern paranormal slicing among us. This was a fun read. Enjoyed the characters and the setting in the South. Well written compared to a few other books I have read in this sMe category. Reading the next one!!

I really liked this! It was a mix of Heather Blake's Wishcraft series and Barbara Bretton's Sugar Maple series. I liked Charli and her family (except for her aunt) and while the story wasn't twisty and turny it was entertaining and fun.

Charli comes back to her home town after leaving an engagement ring with a letter explaining why she had to leave in the first place. She never thought she'd come back only to discover her favorite great uncle passed away after their short reunion. Loved it.

Another cozy witch story. Read 2 in a row and they are so similar, difficult to nail it down. This also hit the ok but certainly not great button.

This was a surprisingly good book! An original story line, with plenty of action, it kept my attention and when I got to around 60%, I really didn't want to put it down until I was done. Better than most in this genre. Appropriate for younger readers. Nice happily ever after ending.

Moonshine and Magic, the first title of a quaint, paranormal cozy mystery series, centers on the return of Charli Goodwin to her hometown of Honeysuckle Hollow, a place where non-humans can live together peacefully. Charli is a witch with an rare talent for finding misplaced items and people. She abruptly left Honeysuckle Hollow, and her finance, roughly a year ago, and her return goes a bit south when first her ex-finance proposes to her bratty cousin in front of the entire town, followed by ...more

There is enough magic and a huge puzzle to solve in Moonshine & Magic that will satisfy any Paranormal Cozy Mystery reader. I easily fell into this story and was chasing clues almost as quickly as Charli was. I enjoyed the twists and turns in this story. While I had my suspect firmly in mind there was always enough going on to make me wonder if I was on the right track. Since this is the introductory tale to this series I expected world building, and found that

I just saw this as I was looking around for things to listen to on my way to work. It's pretty cute and captures the feel of a small town and the South pretty well. I also liked all the casual magical/supernatural creatures living in the town. While I did like it for the most part, there were some things that bugged me, thus the lower rating.

I think the most annoying part was the male posturing. I'm glad that Charli smacked the boys down, but it was still irritating as hell. I especially didn't

A light, magical cozy mystery that focuses on a stubborn witch's determined effort to figure out who cursed her... before the curse kills her. I mean, all in all, an understandable reason for wanting to be involved in the investigation into her great-uncle's death, and the misplaced curse crawling up Charli's arm.

While I liked the majority of the characters, I found the shifter character to be an annoying, over-the-top rendition of an alpha male. I appreciate the fact that Charli had no problem

WOW! This book opened me up to a whole new genre! Well, not new but new to me!!! and I am in LOVE! It has excited me to read everything in this genre I can get my hands (and ears) on. This audio was amazing too, but I am now reading cozies. They are fun, charming feel good reads! The magical cozies like this one are so comfy, cozy and you just want to devour the books, but I am also really enjoying contemporary cozies!

Now onto the actual story review. This was a great story! I love Charli and

This was a great cozy mystery and so much more, the pace was great and a story line that kept you hooked. Chari has just arrived back in town after leaving for her own reasons but is obviously wary after leaving her fiance in the lurch when she went. She hasn't even been back in town for a day before she comes across her Great uncle Tippers body and it is all down hill from there. Now Chari has to try and find Tippers killer or she will die herself from the Death curse boy is that girl a trouble ...more

Charlotte Goodwin is coming home. She is familiar with the old adage "you can never go home" but she is going to try. Before she faces her family and friends, she has to get through the barrier at the border. It is an invisible barrier and a very special border. Honeysuckle Hollow is home to witches, fairies and all types of magical beings. Charlotte is home to rebuild burned bridges and no amount of magic can help her.

Johanna Parker does a wonderful job of bringing the world and inhabitants of

If you like witches, vampires and spells, you will like this book. The mystery story was great. Well written and had several suspects which I like. Charli Goodwin returns home to she hopes is a quiet homecoming with her family but it turns out anything but when her Uncle Tipper dies and a curse enters her body and will kill her unless she finds the killer. There are some great characters in this book. Some you can trust some you are not to sure of. My favorite is Beau a 250 year old vampire. He ...more

I loved the way the southern hospitality came through during the entire story. It didn’t matter that some of the characters were withes or wolf shifters ot vampires. The other thing that came through in the story was the concept that you can go home again and your family and friends welcome you with open hearts. Not sure if this is a series but I hope so!

After skipping town and leaving her fiancé and family, Charli Goodwin thinks she can sneak back into town and plans to lay low. Of course, things don’t go as planned when Charli discovers the dead body of her great uncle and is inflicted with the death curse.

Using her tracker talents and what little energy she has, Charli must track down her uncle’s killer before time runs out for her. She is not alone as she has the police (hunky Mason), her witch grandma and brother, wolf shifter Dash, and all

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

On Charli’s first day back in her hometown of Honeysuckle Hollow, she finds the body of her great uncle. When she touches him (trying to rouse him, he did like his alcohol), she receives a killing curse. Now she’s racing against time to figure out who actually killed her great uncle before she dies.
It’s a fast-paced story that takes place in a magical town full of witches, fairies, vampires, etc. You have wonderful character development and a great start to a series full of witty, sometimes

Read in one session

This is the way to write a series. This is number one but has a full finalised story arc. The last chapter exposes a mystery in our protagonists back story, it serves as an ethical hook to the following books.
Pacey and compared to the genre, well structured it still suffers a few logical inconsistencies but they dont distract unless, of course, you are a pedant but then I doubt youd be reading magic mysteries.
The main characters are full and likeable, the minor characters have

I'll admit that a huge part of why I wanted to read this was that I love the cover, and because I have a relatively new-found love for the subgenre of witchy cozy mysteries. Haha, yes, that's a subgenre.

I really like the characters and family dynamics in this book, and I'm a sucker for small magical town. I rolled my eyes a little at the love triangle/quandrangle, but whatever. It'll sort itself out. In some ways, this was very much a first book in a series, but not necessarily in a bad way.

Moonshine & Magic

A Witchy Cozy Mystery full of Southern Charm and Magic! Charlie has arrived back home just in time for the Founders Day Festival. Before she can catch up with her friends & family, she finds her Great Uncle has been murdered. Charli along with her friends and family will need to find out who murdered her Uncle. It's a matter of life & death. Love Charli, most of her family and her loyal friends. Being from the South, I just love the Southern Charm with some Laughs

I seldom give a book five stars, but oh wow did this one deserve it. While technically a paranormal cozy, it was not the sweet, simple cozy that I am used to. This one had teeth. The very idea of Honeysuckle Hollow was delightful, the characters were wonderful and the story just kept getting better. Charli Goodwin knows her own mind and isn't afraid to stand up for what is right. Her grandmother loves her to pieces and has her back at all costs. And the costs may run very high indeed as they ...more

Returns and murder

I found in this first book of this series that not only can you come home but trouble can still be there. Charlie has finally come home but she not only gets a surprise but then a favorite relative is found dead. It will take Charlie almost her life to find out who did it.

You have murder, jealousy, and a triangle in this story and so much love of family and friends. Good reading.

The first page drew me in immediately. Charli is a witch who comes from a magical town that is hidden from nonmagical folk. Charli's uncle is dead and she's the number one suspect. Now she's in a race against the clock to find the real killer before something even worse happens. This cozy mystery will have you on the edge of your seat as you journey with Charli to prove her innocence.
