Bad Habitzz #1

Bad Habitzz: What's Yours?

Rate this book
Everyone has bad habits. Some are hard to break, while others can be stopped cold turkey. But what happens when your bad habit gets you in some shit you can’t get out of?
Andrea has just returned home after her other half’s passing. She reunites with her childhood friends; however, while navigating the road to living life to the fullest, she encounters speed bumps, potholes, and detours along the way. Andrea's always been closest to Caiden, but now he seems to want nothing to do with her. While trying to mend that friendship, she finds herself slowly falling for Leonard “Lynx” King, the boy who bullied her every day as a child. The only thing is, he has no idea who she is.
Meet Pascha, mother of two, who has too many struggles to count. Her baby daddy, Gunz, cares more about his bike club than being at home providing for her and their kids. She needs change, because she finds herself sinking into her own pity; that is, until Solomon “Solo” King comes into the picture and forces her to reevaluate her self-worth. But you know that saying, “When something is too good to be true, it usually is”; well, she’s about to find out, one way or the other, if that old adage holds any weight.
Romyn seems to have his hands full with all of these down low men that don’t know how to treat him. Between his present, Ethan, and his past, Lonzo, Romyn doesn’t seem to realize he’s deserving of so much more. That’s where Kreme comes into the picture. But something's preventing Romyn from fully giving himself to Kreme. Is it the fear of possibly having a successful relationship? Or is he still stuck on wanting to make things work with Lonzo? Life would be perfect if only Lonzo would come out about who he really is.
So come indulge in the 'vicious cycles' of Bad Habitzz as we follow this not-so-merry band of misfits and their insignificant-significant others, as they cross paths, weave webs of betrayal and unearth hidden truths that could destroy their newfound happiness. Welcome to Jewel City!

Justice for Detoria and Ant!!!!

I read lots of reviews that had me thinking Pascha and Solo were gonna be my favs..... Absolutely not!! In the beginning I did feel for her but when I started seeing lines like "what could ant had been eating to have something on his face", " I don't know what they are doing, they are ok, I can hear them" I started side eyeing miss pascha, then she was "so depressed" she couldn't clean up, but soon as solo started coming over she says " now I'm more motivated to clean since he's coming over" GIRL WHET?? you're children don't motivate you to do better but a man does?!?!?throughout the whole book not once did she play with, console, love up on, talk to, cook for or clean for her kids but she did all the above for solo!! Andrea is playing a dangerous game!! Honestly her little revenge plan made her no better than he was! She kept saying stuff like "where is mean lynx" "why is he acting different" GIRL HE GREW UP!!! I was most interested in Romym!! I thought Lonzo was somebody but I think I'm wrong now lol, I hope part two is mostly Romyn cause I don't have time for Pascha or Andrea!!

She has so much more in her repertoire.... For those of you who remember, and for those of you who don't, just take my word on this... E. Lynn Harris, RIP.. was great... he wove stories together that were taboo for his time and we loved them.... He has a fan base that misses his work.. miss him... Some of us felt we would never find another to give us the totality and the genuineness it would take to tell these stories... Give this romance justice.. allow you to see past the, should I really love this factor ..... WELL I can tell you as an E. Lynn Harris fan... that bubble has been burst.... Ivy Symone has broken the glass ceiling so to speak.... I have never found anyone, since him who came even close.... to tell this story to expertly.... this author... Has. Nowwwwww.. man what a story..... Solo.. aka (My Man....) Pas... lord get it together.... Andrea... in my impersonation of DT.... Wrong... can you see my lips.... Caiden... PAJB..... and the big question... who the hell is Lonzo..........???? I know you all have your thoughts.... time will surly tell as we venture deeper into Jewel City.... Another must Read people....

STARTLINGLY IMPRESSIVE!

Though I have given up on writing reviews, I just could not allow that behavior to continue after reading this book.

Ivy, I just finished reading "Bad Habitzz: What's Yours", and have arrived at the unbiased opinion that you put your entire foot into that storyline. You have never, in the past, ceased to amaze me, as a reader. But, I have to say that, after this particular reading, you have done just that. You have amazed me astoundingly!

E. Lynn Harris wrote his "truth" created on his very personal life experiences. But, you - Ivy Symone - have created this master piece via reaching down to the very soul of your creativity and come up with an experience which is alien to your core nature and given it a life which appears in all things natural to your existence. How do you create a perspective based on a male's point of view and make it your very own experience? The character's emotions, struggles and fears of being different were brought forth in such a vivid way that none would guess that it was not a personal journey. My jaw is still in suspended animation just recapitulating the various internal and external conversations you employed in giving this part of our society a voice - a strong voice.

I have my favorite couple, whom I am rooting vigorously for - Sole and Pascha; but it in no way negates the positive feelings I developed for Andrea/Lynx, Romyn/Kreme/Lonzo and the rest of the "misfit" crew. You gave each of them a different voice suitable to their varied emotional experiences. Each voice was done in such a way that we, as readers, get to be involved in each scenario in as many varied ways as the characters are portrayed to be. Ivy Symone, your creative vibes shine brighter and brighter with each new project you generate for your fan base's varied reading pleasures. I have every book you have written and all have been super duper reads; but this one here is the beast of them all! You went above and beyond your astronomical creativity when you brought forth this gem!

I am waiting with bated breath for the next installment, which I know will carry forth your genius storytelling abilities; because you just can't help yourself

What a read...where will part 2 take us with all these characters. I got scared to the end like I was watching a movie lol. I didn't want it to end but still wondered how it would end. The drama is gonna be at an all time high. Lives disrupted love in disarray, etc. I'm ready to see what will happen. Excellent read.

Living In Your Truth

This book was sooooo good and it felt so real as we journeyed with this group of friends as they dealt with some real trauma and decisions!!!…
I was rooting for Pascha because I wanted her to get a glimpse into some happiness!!!…I was also hoping that along this journey, she would find something g deep in herself to love her just a little bit harder and little bit longer!!!…Gunz need to his raggedy tail on because he is a contributing factor in Pascha’s spiral!!!…
I truly hope Romyn find the truth and live in his truth because dealing with ppl that are not allowing you to freely be with them is still you in secret too!!!…
Andrea is truly playing a dirty game and I hope she tell the truth because the response to is all can be damaging and dangerous!!!…
I know Mariah is playing with Soli’s meds and I will be so happy when he finds out!!!…
I can’t wait to see what lays ahead for these friends and families!!!

Oh

Well the cover does nothing for the story. At all. The title kinda depicts the s storyline bc BC undercover homosexuality is a secret bad habit of many men. The possibility that men who changed their genitals aren't being honest bothered me throughout the story. And the Pascha story did nothing for the plot.

There were editing issues, several misspellings and incorrect word usage. Some minor mistakes would've been corrected with a proofread. The book went from past tense to present sense, something that could've been corrected through editing. Mariah's character was an addition that the story didn't really need. Her bitterness was boring. Decent storyline, very detailed in parts that i wished it weren't, but it isn't strong enough to finish the series.

Thank you, Thank you!

Wow, is all I'm going to say! Lady Ivy Symone, how long must I wait for the sequel? I cried, laughed, scream and had a fit; these characters were beyond crazy but I enjoyed every minute. Thank you for taking your time in creating all of the characters; the development of each one was amazing! It has been a long time since I read a story that held my interest without trying to replace missing or misspelled words.
Solo and his brothers brought back a lot of memories and I think every hood girl met a guy like Solo. Lol
Please hurry with the sequel...I'm curious about Lonzo but I think I know who he is? What is Mariah sneaking in daily pills? I have so many unanswered questions.
I really enjoyed this one!

OMG!!!! What can I say that hasn't already been said. This book, storyline and characters were all phenomenal. This book literally had me on the edge of my seat waiting to get to the next page. I really enjoyed the fact that the author took certain "liberties" with her characters to give them more depth and dimension. Ms. Simone jumped off into the world of Bad Habitzz with both feet. I applaud the unconventional content as it is refreshing to read something out of the urban genre that is reflective of the many layers that different people have.

This was my first read by this author but I have a feeling that it will NOT be my last.

I cannot wait for part 2!!!!

I like this story for the most part. The part I didn’t like was Andrea’s story. After a while, I just skipped over it. Her story line is one of my biggest pet peeves, give people a choice, period. You might be surprised with the response but no matter what, you can’t tell someone what the should and shouldn’t accept by taking away their choice. I’m on to the next book and I’m still skimming (mostly skipping)her part.

Once again I am left speechless, needing more. Ivy gives you the story and you actually feel like you know the people from neighborhood, or you see yourself in one if the characters. Hopefully we won't being waiting long for part 2. Forever a fan

Wow.

When I first started reading I got confused in the first two chapters and had to read again that's when I realized that Andrea used to be Andrew. Ivy Symone you never disappoint with your books and I'm rooting for Solo and Pascha too work out. What will become of Lynx and Andrea once the truth is out.

Can you say drama? This book is sure to make you laugh, shout and cover your eyes all in the same chapter. I am anxiously anticipating the next book in the controversial series.

Rachet

This was some rachety and boom schidity stuff. You never know what this author is going to give readers. A mix bag of emotional issues with sensuality and just so much drama with whom to love. This story had something for everyone, gay straight, erotica's, you name it.

This was definitely a different premise than Ivy Symone's typical books, but it was pretty good. It was slow for the first few chapters but I suppose that was necessary for the entire gist of the story to be disclosed. The cliffhanger didn't really leave me wanting more
