Rocky Ridge #4

Hannah's Hero

Rate this book
This sweet historical western romance was originally published in the Gunsmoke and Gingham anthology. US Marshal Kirby Matheson is on his way to testify at a trial when he comes across an injured woman on the trail. Although he risks missing the trial, he can't leave her to the elements and goes out of his way to take her to safety. When Hannah Wilde is rescued by a handsome stranger after being thrown from her horse during a storm, she finds herself growing to like him, much to her dismay. He’s exactly the kind of man she’s sworn never to get involved with – a lawman! Kirby feels a connection to Hannah unlike any he’s never felt with another woman. He’s sure she feels the same, so why is she being so frosty toward him? And why is he suddenly thinking about giving up the one thing he’s always valued – his freedom? Hannah is determined to resist her growing feelings for Kirby. However, when danger follows him, Hannah realizes she could lose him forever - unless she's already too late.

MEN AND WOMEN OF THE WEST

An artist and a Marshall, paths crossed, bittersweet emotions, but haunted by memories and outlaws will hinder them. Hannah watched her mother grieve herself to death after her father, a lawman, died. Marshall Kirby Matheson is on his way to a testify at a trial, a sudden storm, a missing and injured woman, and his life will change. Can Hannah get past her fears and is Kirby ready to settle down on his land?

“I never expected to fall in love with a lawman, but I never expected to meet a man like you. And while I’ll always worry when we’re apart, I know you’ll try to come home to me. That’s all I can ask for.”

Margery Scott may write short stories but they are always good.

This is another worthy story from this author about and around Rocky Ridge, CO. I immensely enjoyed this story of Hannah and Kirby.
I highly recommend this story and all the others in this series and the first series about the Morgan's of Rocky Ridge.
