Top 10 reasons to come For those undecided about a return visit... there is a list of Top 10 reasons to come back again!
On the upside this book is cheap. It also has a very good map which acts as a stand alone item, complete with its own plastic pocket. In fact, the map is the only reason I bought the book. I'm planning a trip and wanted a map of about the size and scale offered up here; there was nothing else in the bookshop to temp me and no other place in town likely to stock a map of California.
On the downside it's a very small book and therefore holds little information. It's not something you could use to plan a big trip as there's only what I'd call 'teaser' pieces on each location. It's really an appetite whetter, so I guess it does fulfil some kind of function. There are some photographs, a few places of interest to see and a quick summary of each area. On top of that there is very limited information on potential accommodation and eateries. There's not much else, which is why I also bought a bigger, more expensive book to aid my planning. The bigger book, of course, had no decent sized map.
Using this guide you will be able to experience all that California offers, you can be sure in that.
Places to stay, places to eat, trendy places to visit, tourist meccas, best places to visit during the night, shopping centers, places to visit when with kids, links, blogs, festivals and much more.
The guide is up-to-date and the nicest add-on is Insider tips – for me, at least, one of the main reasons you will carry this guide anywhere you go.
Convenient, lightweight, yet full of information and with detailed pull-out map, this guide from known UK publisher Marco Polo is something not to be missed if you are visiting The Golden State.
