This book was a super quick and easy read and would probably appeal to a lot of middle grade readers which is the intended audience. This is also the first book published on 2018 that I've read. That's kind of a big deal to me because I'm really bad at reading new books.

I enjoyed the book for the most part. It was a fun, lively story with a cute animal protagonist. Crimson was realistic and her struggle, while not necessarily something most people can relate to at surface level, was

From the cover: The first book in The Dragon Keeper Chronicles delivers a tale of magic, adventure, and survival that middle grade readers and fans of Watership Down and the Warriors series will love. The Schorl serpents have found Genorrdia and threaten the lives of the dragons and their keepers. Crimson wants nothing more than to be a dragon keeper and follow in her father’s fo ...more

Fantasy is a tale written in a world that only exists in the mind of an author. Some authors create fantasies that take us to worlds very different from our own. Tai Manivong has succeeded in creating a world so divergent and yet so familiar that we can instantly enjoy visiting this place. In her world, Crimson is a dog-like creature, a Norterridane, who protects dragons, in particular baby dragons. When Crimson takes on this role, she is not yet fully trained and has to grow into her role in or ...more

Very entertaining book! I love dragons! I also am a huge dog lover, so a canine that guards and protects dragon hatchlings is just a great story, if written well. This story is written very well! The characters are fun to read and I love the story of the two legs who lived in the caves. Another alternate future for humans maybe? Anyway, dragons, lizards canines, magic.. Just a good story. But I didn't want it to end where it did, so I hope I get to read the next one soon!

I really enjoyed this book! It took me a little bit to get into the book, and to grasp who was who, but then it was a quick and easy read. This book was definitely written well, and left me wanting to not put it down!

I got this from a Goodreads give away.

Decent read for middle grade readers.

I thought it was very slow to build and then very rushed at the end.

I am the author of The Dragon Keeper Chronicles: Crimson and I am currently working on book 2. I grew up in Tres Piedras, NM. It is a very small town with a population of about 500 people. I love the fact that it is near Carson National forest. I could walk in the forest for hours and not see a single person. I would spend my days climbing rocks and exploring the national forest. Some of my fondes ...more
