Salvador Dalí is one of the greatest and most enigmatic creative visionaries throughout history. He has excelled in all areas of art and culture from creating strokes on a canvas to setting the scene behind a camera. He has done it all. Within this book Sarah Hobbs tells the narrative story of a selection of Dalí's paintings, uniquely through verse.
“Dormant goose bumps, beware! This poetry sees beyond the obvious.” ~ Paul Chimera, Dalí Historian ~
“DALÍ: In Verse is more than just an appreciation of Salvador Dali. It is a celebration of his work. Sarah Hobbs captures the emotion and complexity of Dali's paintings, yet her poetry stands alone. DALÍ: In Verse can be enjoyed without knowledge of Dali, but for those that are familiar, it adds another dimension to the artist's work, picking up where he left off.” ~ Amy Guidry, Contemporary Surrealist Artist ~
Sarah Hobbs is a poet from South London. Born and raised on the streets in and around London they bring these experiences passionately to their poetry.
Seen regularly on the Spoken Word scene around London and the South East of England they are one of the up and coming talents, even describing themselves as the Syllabic Seamstress of poetry.
Their style is very simplistic and mirrors that of Benjamin Zephaniah, their great inspiration and idol.
They believe that poetry needs to focus on a younger audience in order to entice people to love this not so common art form.
Simplicity and rhythm is therefore crucial, because it is this that makes it available and enjoyable to anyone, of any age, race or gender.
