Now she writes in English, but draws on her life experiences for her historical fiction, as well as her observations of animal and human behaviour. I have a Kangal/Caucasian Ovcharka cross. He's not a full-time LGD, but a general farm dog and property guardian. This has been BY FAR the best book re selection, care training, etc I have come across. Thsi book is a must-have for a first time owner of any LGD breed.

Great reference book to keep on the shelf when you need it. A slim volume that doesn't try to cover every topic exhaustively but is thorough and includes suggestions for further research. Many books in this genre are bulked up unnecessarily on breed selection but this one has a good balance and plenty of day to day practical advice.
