Rate this book
This book offers a detailed foundation for policy analysis, including chapters on historical policy analysis, social/economic analysis, and political analysis. It is the only book that implements a direct connection between social policy and the day-to-day practice of social work. The book includes chapters on social policy as it affects most of the major areas of social work poverty, aging, mental health, and child welfare. This edition brings readers up-to-date on the latest developments in welfare reform, managed care, the campaign to restructure Social Security, and the use of family preservation as an approach to child protection. This book is just awful. Concepts were repeated and I can't honestly tell you what I read. The professor hates this book and is not requiring us to read the book. It's disjointed and awkward.

Not exactly fun reading, but surprisingly good and readable- considering it's a textbook. Definitely my favorite textbook from last semester.
