Marina call's book was certainly a good read!
I enjoyed her plot, which was unsuspected and unexpected.
I enjoyed her beautifully written prose, with sentences that were like flower buds, opening up slowly as you moved along the words.
I enjoyed the feeling of the novel, which transported me efficiently to the Spain I had visited as a student many years ago.
I enjoyed the use of Spanish sentences, which brought the novel a sense of "present-ness", of now-reality, of directness.

Oscar is finally getting the chance to travel away from Spain. He hasn't been outside of his home before, but when an opportunity presents itself after his uncle's death, he jumps at the chance. On his adventure, he meets David, who he is at first unsure of thus leading him to discover more about his family and himself. This story is beautifully written, and it is easy to imagine yourself there on this journey alongside the characters an enjoyable read. ...more
