In my opinion, Toni Shiloh has delivered her best novel yet with Grace Restored. And she hasn’t shied away from characters who are asking the tough questions, either. Both Michelle and Guy have suffered significant losses in their lives—Michelle lost her parents just as she graduated from school, and Guy lost his wife when she gave birth to his three-year-old twin girls—and they’re struggling with a God who would let that happen. But even more than that, these two have a complicated history of t ...more

My goodness! Grace Restored was an amazing book! It is book two in the Freedom Lake series, and if you read book one, then you have already been introduced to Guy and Michelle. However, Grace Restored can also be read and enjoyed as a stand alone novel, in my opinion.

This was a story that I had trouble setting down. Guy and Michelle both had serious pain, guilt, and even regret in their lives that burdened them and made it hard for each of them to trust in God’s grace. I loved that Grace Restore
Continuing the style of her previous Freedom Lake novel, Toni Shiloh continues her beautiful and heartwarming book two in the series, Grace Restored, in the same wonderful Hallmark movie style that her readers so thoroughly adore! From page one, Shiloh brings to life her charming characters and their stories. This story is about the main characters learning to overcome struggles and mistakes from the past, strengthening friendships, and finding romance along the way. This sweet story will take r ...more

Toni Shiloh is one of my all time favorite authors, I've read and loved all of her books to date. After meeting Guy and Michelle last year in the first book in the series, Returning Home, I was so looking forward to their story! I was absolutely not disappointed! Grace Restored is such a beautiful, moving, and incredibly amazing book, I know there is no way my review will come anywhere close to doing this fabulous book justice, but I will try. I was pulled into this story from the first page and ...more

Toni Shiloh has done it again! Relatable characters, hard subject matter, deep faith skillfully and naturally woven throughout, and sweet, sweet romance (with a bit of humor!) all entwined within tight writing and a story that keeps you reading! Shiloh’s books are always worth every penny, but I believe this one is her best yet.

I loved reading the first book in the Freedom Lake series and I was super excited to be able to read this second story. It was like visiting old friends. While you could read this book as a stand-alone, you would miss out on the background information of secondary characters not to mention another fantastic story!

Grace Restored is a beautiful story! The writing style is engaging and captivating. The characters are realistic and I felt mesmerized and charmed by their story, yet humbled by their c

A wonderful story of grace and forgiveness and rediscovering true love. Guy and Michelle dated in high school, but painful circumstances drove them apart until years later when they both return to Freedom Lake. From reading this series, Toni Shiloh creates a fascinating cast of characters that I would love to be friends with. I love how the group of friends supports each other during good times and bad and how their friendship works to strengthen their relationship with God, especially during th ...more

If you want a book that is going to affect you, look no further. Toni Shiloh shows that Christians, even those who go to weekly Bible studies, still need the grace of God and struggle with life and all that entails. Her characters are real, deep, and dimensional. If you haven’t read any of her other books, give this one a try—it’s my favorite so far.

Grace Restored is the perfect title for this not-so-simple romance between two complicated characters. I thoroughly enjoyed it! It fits into my Year of Reading Dangerously because it's an indie book by an author I've never read before. I'm so glad I took a chance!

Recommended for readers who enjoy Love Inspired, small town romance, family stories, and stories that take on tough issues.

Dear Readers,

I hope you enjoy your return trip to Freedom Lake. Grace Restored centers around Michelle Thomas and Guy Pierre, two secondary characters from Returning Home. They each battle with the bad in the world and the ideal of a good God. I pray their journey blesses you and enriches your own faith journey.

A thoroughly enjoyeable read that I hope to purchase in PB. It was wonderful to be reacquainted with the characters in the first book of the series. This book dealt with truly deep subjects so well. I love that this authors book have such a deep faith, forgiveness, and love theme. Real life issues are handled so well. It shows the broken hearts that God’s love heals. It shows struggling Christians ( aren’t we all) try hard to help those people in their life with the message of Christ’s forgivene ...more

Really enjoyed my second visit to Freedom Lake and cannot wait for the third trip. I love how Toni Shiloh weaves her character’s spiritual journey into a Bible study and plus it all together with their personal growth.

Plus she drops a couple of plot explosions that we have to wait to see resolved in book three.

Really good read. Highly recommended.

My review is 4.5 Stars

It’s interesting that I read a book a month ago with this same sensitive topic and it turned my stomach and I disliked the story, yet in Grace Restored, author Toni Shiloh handles the subject with grace and sensitivity. (I won’t say what that subject is, so I don’t give any spoilers.)

While this is just the second book I’ve read by this author, I can see her love for the Lord and for sharing spiritual truths come through in her stories. She seasons her stories with Scriptura

Another fantastic story by Toni Shiloh. This is the second book in the Freedom Lake series. It was fun to read Michelle and Guy's story. They each had so many issues they were both working through. I loved how the author covered sensitive issues with tenderness and God's love. She brought in colorful word pictures and deep emotions.
There was a quote in the book which grabbed me; "Think of it like a swimmer going against the current. He will exhaust himself. All his efforts are futile. But when

I was so happy to revisit Freedom Lake and all the wonderful characters. Although most of the characters are in each book, you can tell that they each have a wonderful story of their own to tell. And there is one story I hope is next, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Guy and Michelle? Well, theirs just might be my favorite story. And Toni Shiloh had me hooked with the prologue. From there, it was pretty much a one sitting read, but then again most of her books are because I enjoy t

On a scale of cotton candy to Brussels sprouts, Grace Restored by Toni Shiloh is a filled pastry. Savory or sweet, the only way to sometimes know what's on the inside is to take a bite. Try not to allow your expectation to influence your taste buds.

Michelle has created her perfect life, but then her high school boyfriend returns to town as a widower with adorable twin daughters. This was not part of the plan. In a small town like Freedom Lake, Michelle can't spend her life avoiding him. When th

This is another beautiful story from Toni Shiloh. She masterfully crafts contemporary Christian romances for us.

Michelle and Guy have a past. And then they moved on, without closure, without apologies or forgiveness. Now they are back in the same town again.

Michelle is a lawyer–determined to bring as many people to justice for drunk driving as she possibly can. She doesn’t think there is any room in her life for a man.

Guy lost his beloved wife. He’s a single dad of young twin girls. Life is not

When I first started reading, I struggled to get into the story; but once Michelle's secret was revealed, I was all in. I could connect to the character's hurt and pain, and I wanted to know how it would all resolve. In my opinion, "Grace Restored" is ten times better than "Returning Home". It was a story that showed us that Jesus will not allow us to be stuck in a place of pain and sorrow. We must comfort our demons to be set free, and we must not hold on to the past or we won't be able to heal ...more

What an incredible and heartbreaking story of grace and forgiveness. Toni Shiloh once again delivers a touching and well-written tale of two broken people, separated by time and space and memories, coming together again to find healing in God's restoring Grace and Forgiveness. This book is book #2 of the series but can definitely be read as a stand-alone. If you did read the first book in the series, you'll definitely appreciate Evan and Jo returning to the storyline as they seek to help the hur ...more

There’s no better description for this book than the title itself. Michelle has suffered the weight of grief, abandonment, and a secret only she knows for 13 years. Guy ran away from a mistake and faces his own turmoil. Both must learn to accept and extend grace and forgiveness before they can contemplate a romantic relationship neither thought possible.

This book is filled with quotable passages and memorable moments. I love the characters here in Freedom Lake and how they all have endured such

What I like most about Grace Restored is that it broaches one topic you don't see often in Christian Fiction: abortion. While it's a highly controversial ethical and political issue, at the core, there are many hurting women out there who have made this choice in the past and are now/still dealing with all that comes with it.

In this story, we glimpse two women, Michelle and Tanya, as well as the motivations behind their abortions and the emotions they're dealing with today. I think that Toni tak

Michelle and Guy dated in high school, but haven’t seen each other since Guy deserted Michelle when she needed him most. Now he’s back in town, a widower with twin daughters.

It’s taken a while, but Guy has adjusted to the fact he’s a single father. He’s coping … but seeing Michelle again brings back memories of what once was. As is to be expected, the course of true love doesn’t run smooth, and both Guy and Michelle have a lot to learn—about themselves, about each other, and about God.

Can a relationship survive with old secrets?

I love this series. Each book makes me more excited to get the next one. In this novel about Michelle and Guy, old secrets threaten to destroy their renewed relationship. This book really digs deep into contraversial matters and brings to light how God wants to forgive and restore all of us. Add this one to your book list and you'll be glad you did.

Loss, illness, circumstances. Life is messy. Grieving, doubting, hating. Humans are flawed. Authenticity. God’s grace covers it all. Redemption, restoration, promise, and hope.

Emotions put my reader heart through the wringer as I revisited this group of friends I’ve grown so fond of since Returning Home. The folks of Freedom Lake do NOT have it all together (not even close) but honestly, that’s a big reason I appreciate them so much. I’ll say it again, “authentic

I just recently discovered Toni Shiloh’s books and I am so glad I did. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, Returning Home, and was excited to visit Freedom Lake again and explore some of the previous secondary characters. While this can easily be read as a stand-alone, I would highly recommend reading them in order as the stories do build on one another. I loved revisiting Freedom Lake and actually loved this book even more than the first one. Guy and Michelle were a great couple and ...more

I have come to enjoy books by author Toni Shiloh, and this one doesn’t disappoint! I would love to visit Freedom Lake someday, if only it were possible. It sounds beautiful, and the people are warm and friendly.

The characters in Grace Restored dealt with some heavy things. Death of a spouse. Being a single parent. And one surprising secret that I won’t reveal, but in the “real” world can be devastating! So raw and honest in the way it was handled, and so beautiful in the way grace was indeed res

If you’re looking for a book filled with truth, with restoration, and with hope, look no further.

In Grace Restored, Toni Shiloh takes characters who are merely surviving—moving forward in life while carrying the weight of their hurts, secrets, and mistakes—and leads them to discover so much more.

It’s been thirteen years since Guy Pierre left Freedom Lake without a word. Thirteen years Michelle Thomas has focused on her career, on forgetting the boy she loved. And now he’s back.

What a beautiful story of God's grace and forgiveness. Michelle and Guy have both experienced tragedy. Both are in need of forgiving themselves and one another. I love watching their separate journeys with God, and their journey to each other. I'd give this 10 stars if I could. If you haven't read any of Toni's books yet, you need to get started -- right away 😊 You're missing some great stories! The author graciously gifted a copy of this book. Grace Restored is the 2nd book in the Freedom Lake Series. Toni Shiloh has written a really great story. Some stories make me cry, and this one made me cry several times...and that's a good thing! The story is about Guy and Michelle, friends of Jo and Evan (from Returning Home). How God works in both their hearts and lives and helps them sort out issues they are dealing with.
