So, TLDR: Don’t read this series, it is bad. It’s about a guy who sexually and emotionally abuses a really dumb girl who’s too naïve to know that he’s even doing anything wrong. The problem is that this is presented as being romance. Read my previous reviews for more on that (links below).
On this volume specifically, has anything changed? A little bit, yes, but ultimately: no.
Nagi (the abuser in question) just reaaaallly comes off as a super horny teenager. So every time he jumps onto Kurumi (the dumb girl in question) it doesn’t feel romantic at all, it just feels like some stupid kid using another stupid kid to fulfill his selfish desires. And then, yes—AGAIN—Kurumi literally says “no"[s] and “I don’t like it"[s], yet the motherfucker literally does not give a single micron of a shit and keeps going. After Kurumi said the latter, he actually had the balls to tell her “You like it"[s]... Bitch what the fuck. This isn’t a romance, it’s literally just a guy sexually harassing a girl. I read someone's comment saying that it’s “borderline sexual harassment,” but I say no, this shit is very clearly literally sexual harassment, not “borderline” whatsoever. Fucking disgusting.
At the end of the last chapter the author attempts to redeem him by having Nagi make them wait until Kurumi graduates high school until they’ll have sex (don’t forget he almost forced it on her in chapter 8!), so he ceases their relationship for the next 2 years (she was a first year and he was a second year when that decision was made). Um, good? I guess. Kurumi was very clearly not mature enough for their current relationship, so hopefully she grew up in that time. But this just re-illuminates the fact that he’s so extremely controlling over Kurumi. He nearly never asks her to do anything, he always TELLS her to do things, commands her. She has never had a say in a single aspect of their relationship, including this one. He didn’t ask her opinion on taking a break, he just asserted that it was happening. This combined with the previous paragraph, it’s just so clear that Nagi has exactly zero respect for Kurumi as a human being. I repeat: Fucking disgusting.
The author keeps trying hard to redeem Nagi, but it's so clear that they don't understand exactly what it is that he's doing wrong, and so all the attempts at redemption always miss the point and thus fall completely flat. This speaks miles about the author's own character.
To top it all off, this volume wasn’t even funny or all that entertaining. The first two chapters were so inconsequential that I can barely remember what happened in them, and I am totally over the siscon. The only reason I kind of enjoyed reading this series was because it was entertaining and funny, but without those two elements this is literally just reading about abuse. And it’s not like it’s a social commentary or anything, which I was hoping this would somehow turn into at the end here.
Sigh. Yeah, no. It’s not worth it. Don’t read this series. I actually can’t believe something like this was published in this day and age. And to top it off: that it's also currently being officially translated into English by Kodansha Comics! Please someone tell me who's idea that was??
Bonus: Someone please tell me what this panel looks like out of context, lol. Please tell me I’m not the only one with dirty thoughts:

This series kept on popping up in my reccomendations. So I thought, why not? And omg its such a mistake. Its the BEST MISTAKE I have ever made okay! I just regret that I hae not read it sooner. This was so cute and adorable! My absolute favorite character was Ata-kun who has a sister complex. He is so hilarious and adorable. I love the way he cares for his younger sister its so sweet! The drawings were absolutely beautiful! Especially since I am reading on a kindle and its all black, white and grey. I took my time in reading this but it is a very short read. Just give yourself some quiet time and huddle into your fort. This series is like my comfort food...except its a book sooooooo- comfort book??? Lol you guys understand what I am saying...hopefully
This series was so funny. The romance was just okay, but the brother made me laugh so much. I do think that it’s good it ended where it did because the plot was very repetitive and would’ve gotten old fast, but I also feel like the ending was a little too rushed. I had to reread the last couple pages because I thought I skipped something.
I think this series and I weren’t meant to be. It was a little bit cute while a little bit flirty, but then it decided to go its own separate way from how I would have enjoyed it going. We parted as friends, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t want to scream at it during the short time we were together.
What all that metaphor means is this: I hated how the heroine did not get to define her own relationship while her brother or her boyfriend dictated how things would or would not go. What, the boyfriend gets to decide that they have to be just friends till they’re adults? Kurumi, honey, I hope you dated another guy or two before settling on Nagio post-graduation because you deserved better since you were the best character with the most potential because all the boys were just idiots. Because, yeah, kisses and sexy times are fun, but you need more than that to build a strong, secure relationship. This manga, sadly, did not attempt to build foundation for that whatsoever. As it is, I don’t think I’ll be revisiting this series soon, maybe even never.
Overall, the story is really cute and fairly clean. The characters are adorable and with only four volumes...it was a quick read.
*SPOILERS*
And that's my one qualm with the story, is how short it is. I would've liked to see more. The ending...is a bit lackluster. Like the last three pages are cute and happy, but we go from Nagio wanting some distance while Kurumi doesn't, to a graduation ceremony a year later with them happy? What happened in-between? What happens next--marriage, kids? That's what I would've liked to see in the wrap up, not just a three/four page "happy ending".
But otherwise, I did enjoy reading it.

WHAT AN ADORABLE CONCLUSION TO THIS SWEET STORY!!!
You see how much these characters have matured in their relationship with each other, and you see them being responsible and looking towards their future together. I adore how the way they handle their responsibilities felt much more realistic.
The ending is open ended, and I like that it was that way. I think it leads you to filling in the blanks about the rest. Check out this sweet digital manga!
The good news is that I’m done with this series. I thought that the manga would end on a nice note but the end was so bad. Nagio was acting so out of character and taking decisions that didn’t make sense at all. The plot and characters were bad and the romance was even worse.
I’ve tried reading Hatsuharu multiple times and I’ve never really liked any of her work. I guess I’m going to stop torturing myself here and just give up on her.
WTF! What was with that weird third act break-up that was a break up but it wasn't actually? It came out of nowhere, it had no sense. That chapter felt like the author tried to take this flirty funny manga and turn it a bit more serious but all it did was ruin the whole thing.
It made no sense!
Anyway, this manga had a bad start anyway as characters were barely touched on and there was pretty much zero chemistry between our leads - all the guys had more chemistry with one another than our leads!
Another disappointing conclusion to an otherwise amazing story. I'm not sure how I was expecting it to end, but I definitely didn't see it ending as underwhelmingly as it does. For a story with such a build-up for these characters to get together, I couldn't help but be extremely disappointed by how rushed the ending is. Aside from the ending, It is a beautiful and lighthearted tale. Very easy to read and I continuously found myself looking forward to the next time I could read it again. I just wish the finale lived up to the rest of the series.
Very cute. Nothing too angsty. The main couple fall in love quickly and it's more about the quirks of their relationship while her big brother is ultra possessive, which actually leads to hilarious interactions between the male lead and the brother. This doesn't do anything new, but it's sweet fluff.
whaaat?
It was an engrossing story. I wasn’t sure how I felt about it at first but then I grew to love it. It’s such a simple story about high school love, but it’s also deep. You have to read between the lines at times, but I like that. It was cute, funny, and calming. Thank you!
Although a short 4 volume read I could still pace myself and not rush. I do wish the manga was longer though I was having so much fun. It’s a very cute story. I wish I could be as lucky as Kurumi and reunite with my childhood friend who I had a major crush on and perhaps still do…
I hate that the guy dictates the timing and events of every thing about this unequal relationship. Honestly the only reason I would pick this series up a second time is because the art is lovely. The story is pretty awful.
As a whole, this series is about a four. However, the final volume is a two! To me, it felt really rushed and it some stuff happened that didn’t need to happen….. Also, I would’ve liked to see lovey-dovey moments leading up to a wedding ceremony rather than a high school graduation ceremony.
(╯°益°)╯彡┻━┻ Aaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!! This ending made me mad!
Fairly straightforward shoujo, with comedic relief from her sis-con brother. I did like that Nagio realized that backing off might be a better decision for their relationship in the long run. It was mature and unexpected given how quickly they advanced before that.

This is a surprisingly mild end to the series. I do with that he had made this decision in an earlier volume, since the series is so short it comes off as kind of out of nowhere to have it in the last chapter.
Loved this series but this book seemed rushed and short. But would read more by this author. I did really love the story line. The older brother got on my nerves but the romance was sweet.
Overall not bad. I liked that she was into him and doing stuff with him. But there was a lot of just taking of kisses. Her brother was the best part honestly. Quick easy read, if your library has it and you’re interested I say go for it.
Oh my gosh!!! So wholesome and cute!!!! It was a rather short series, and there are a few things I would have loved to see in the end, but otherwise, I was warm and giddy throughout the whole series!
