Really well organised, well written, and comprehensive even though concise. A better 'quick guide' than Halperín's summation.

Well.. I never like history when I was in school, but lately I have this urge for knowing about my country's past (Mexico) and in this book I Learned a great deal about not only Mexico but, all The continent and All I can say about my experience reading it is that my awereness and vision of the past the present, and the future of all the world is at a higher level thank GOD.
